Therapy: My physical therapist really was sensitive to the pain I was feeling, and he conducted a thorough exam to find out the source of my back pain. After talking to me, we also worked on exercises which helped me to feel better right away. Service: I had great service on my visit. Price: I had to pay a copay, but it was worth the relief I felt. Literally have never applied heat or stim or ice probably bc they are rigid with their timing. There will be one therapist with two or three patients while one is typing on a computer. He bathroom is filthy and the soap dispenser is a decoration bc it needs to be charged and no one ever charges it lol I've never been to a PT place where everyone isn't on the same page and helping each other. EPTG was really great from start to finish. I injured my knee and wanted to see someone asap, EPTG's Irma scheduled me in right away and was so helpful giving me directions to the office. I came to EPTG about a year ago after having surgery, unable to lift my arm. After working with Mallorie for a few months, I have full range of motion back - it's almost like the break never happened! Mallorie was absolutely fantastic - very knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and responsive. I worked with a few other EPTG staff when she was away and they were great, too. I found EPTG after having a negative experience with another PT place in NJ, which gave very little personal attention and had limited availability. On the flip side, staff at EPTG worked very closely with me. EPTG is also open late (until 8PM I believe) and I was almost always able to get the appointment time I wanted. My only wish is that they had some heavier duty equipment, such as a leg extension or hamstring curl machine. The largest weight they have available is a 5 pound ankle weight, and it would be very beneficial to have something that provides more resistance. read more

I really appreciate Exchange Place Therapy Group (EPTG) & the progress I have made through my therapy work with them. To start, everyone here is not only friendly, and personable, but extremely knowledgable as well. The team here has not only helped me to heal, but strengthen as well - which in turn is the primary reason my Dr. took both surgeries off the table. Overall, I TRUST them, which is quite a feat. To give you an idea, during my first visit, an assessment was conducted. From there the PT Dr.'s developed a therapy plan, and adjusted it as needed. My particular plan has evolved into a series of balance, stretching, strengthening, and building exercises combined with muscle manipulation, stimulation and/or ultrasound. Understand though that therapy takes time, you get out of it what you put in. It took me about 18 months without treatment to get to where I was before therapy, so just understand healing takes time. EPTG is the team you want for your rehab or therapy, and I say that with no reservations. PS. You can get in a little bit of dog therapy while you're there too. This is my second time coming to Exchange Place Physical Therapy Group, and I would never think of going anywhere else. After my complete food reconstruction Dr. Madison Heft made sure to create a custom plan for me and made sure to make adjustments as she needed to. The amount of care and patience she has had with me has been unmatched. Nearly 4 months into PT and she has me running! which was one of our goals when I first started. In addition to Madison being absolutely amazing, the entire team in Jersey City works so closely together that when I am not able to see Madison, there are zero gaps in my treatment. After 11 years managing chronic knee dislocations [I kept a journal, and stopped tallying at 50+], on July 3, 2015, I was frolicking in the park near our house, and dislocated my knee reaaaaaalllllyyyy goooood. This time, I tore my ACL, MCL, PCL and completely severed what was left of a (very tired) MPFL which endured years of abuse. If my active lifestyle wasn't over before, it was now. On August 7, 2015, an angel in the form of an orthopedic surgeon at NYU Sports Medicine who specializes in my condition performed a unique stabilization surgery on my right knee, a live tissue transplant, and repaired my ACL and MCL. I remember leaving NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in a wheelchair, with a backpack full of painkillers, knowing I'd have to learn how to walk again. Also in tow were crutches, 10 ice packs, a fancy knee brace only my surgeon held the key to, 2 spinal blocks, titanium rods in my knee, bone screws, cadaver tissue, 17 stitches, and a prescription for 6 months of physical therapy. My 85% recovery timeframe was estimated at 6 months to 3 years. My personal hopes of ever making a full recovery were slim to none. Even if I couldn't fully recover, there were holes in me now, and scars I could talk about. The last 21 months of recovery have been long, hard, slow, painful, tedious, confusing, insightful, frustrating and, most importantly, extremely humbling. I spent 6 months at EPTG, and Drew and Jaclyn are like family to me now. Their expertise, kindness, precision and patience with me were paramount in getting me where i am now. Thank you, thank you, thank you! without you, i don't know where I'd be Fast forward to this morning, April 14, 2017. At 8:15am, my feet hit the pavement RUNNING for the first time in 2 years. In my short 2mile loop around our neighborhood, it was hard to fight back happy tears as I watched my feet rapidly hit the pavement. Erin, Emma, Jen, Taylor, Natalie, Tina, Lisa et al., have all done an amazing job getting me back on my feet before and after knee surgery. Fantastic physical therapy all around. I had a knee injury (chondromalacia patella / runner's knee) and came here 3x per week for 6 weeks. I highly recommend them. During that time, I was with most of the physical therapists in this office: Paula, Liz, Erin, and Allison. All of them were great - so friendly and nice, clearly cared about my recovery and were excited as I improved, gave valuable suggestions to test out for my knee, and were helpful in answering all of my questions. They gave me exercises to continue my improvement at home as well, through an easy-to-use app that demonstrates all the exercises. Honestly, they made it fun to come to physical therapy. Most sessions went something like: ~30-45 minutes of exercises to strengthen my body/support my knee and stretches, ~10 minutes of deep tissue massage on my knee, and 10 minutes of using a machine to dull the pain in the area when needed. Obviously that can change based on your injury, but most seemed to follow a similar setup. The front desk is so nice and helpful as well. It was always easy to schedule my appointments, even the day-of or day before if needed. I typically scheduled all of my appointments by the week, but they were flexible if I needed to make a change due to my work schedule. Their hours span from early morning to late in the evening, so I never had trouble finding a time to meet my schedule that day. read more

I've never written a Yelp review, but as I was calling to make a follow up session I felt compelled to share my experience at EPTG. I've had the normal neck and back pain that comes and goes. I've been to chiropractors to get out of pain. I'm a skier and usually end each season with some injury that until i got into my late 30's it usually went away. I'm not the type of person that sticks to the regiment of stretches and exercises that I've been told to do by chiropractors and other psychical therapists mostly because I think it's a way to get you to come back to pay them money. That is not how I felt at EPTG. Paula is one of the physical therapist's in their JC location, they have another location in Weehawken. Paula is amazing. She tells it like it is. Very professional and very good at what she does. I came in to EPTG this past summer with tennis elbow from playing golf and at 41 years old I was very concerned that this was going to be a life long struggle. They referred me to get an MRI and then go to a specialist to first correctly diagnose the issue. The specialist told me that i have a partial tear and I need physical therapy as my injury wasn't bad enough for surgery. He told me that this will be a lifelong struggle and I'd have to accept that I will be in pain. The pain I'm in on a daily basis is bad and I didn't get it checked out over the winter hoping it would heal. That didn't work. I went in for my first physical therapy session last week and Paula worked on my arm and when I say worked, she worked. It was painful, but I went with it. I did the stretches and exercises with another person Wala on their staff who was also very nice and attentive. Paula came back and put tape on my arm. In my head I was like how is tape going to help me. Well I played golf two days later and had zero pain. I've never been so impressed with a treatment for a muscle / tendon issue. I would highly recommend this physical therapy outfit to anyone who wants results. Oh and they aren't a high pressure place. They want you to get well and come back but don't make you feel uncomfortable about it. I hope this helps someone who reads this as much as EPTG and Paula helped me. Going back today. read more

Just went to the new Harborside office in Plaza 2 and this physical therapy office is gorgeous! It's spacious, brand new, clean and is filled with great equipment that aides in the rehab process such as bikes, treadmills, stretch cages, a squat rack etc. The physical therapists are great! Dr. Lauren was able to diagnose my problem and set me up with a home exercise program. Her massage therapy really was able to loosen up my tight muscles. Had my appointment rescheduled twice by them and after looking for parking (downtown JC parking is a nightmare) I called to ask for their suite # and was promptly informed that there's no record of my appointment for that day. It's too bad because I selected this place after reading all the good reviews. Maybe scheduling an appointment isn't one of them. ******************** UPDATE Minutes after this review posted, Jaclyn (Clinic Director) called me back and offered to see me. She apologized for the appointment snafu and said she will personally attend to my concerns. I mentioned to her that I have had a hip pain that I've ignored for months and have an upcoming race. Jaclyn and I talked ( real conversation that I feel many in the health professionals don't do) did some tests and explained what my issue was. She's hands on, addressed my pain and showed me exercises that I can do at home. The facility is great and I feel comfortable coming back here for my treatment. Everyone is helpful and you can see from other patients that they are satisfied and have a friendly rapport with the staff. I know all the great reviews come from the one on one attention they get and I'm most appreciative that I came back for the visit. I can't say enough about the team at EPT. Normally physical therapy isn't something to look forward to, however I genuinely enjoy the time I spend here. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and personally invested in each clients' progress. I came in for an issue with my knee but they have since adapted my treatment to more holistically treat symptoms left over from a c-section. If I didn't move 6,000 miles away I would still be going here. I started feeling better after the first session with Dr. Drew and Jacyln. They treat based on what your issue is instead of giving everyone a generic plan. I've been to many PT places in the city (that also charge an arm and a leg) and this practice beats them all. They always knew my name and problem even though there was no paper chart. Pros: 1. Flexible scheduling and they don't charge for same day appt. changes. (some places charge $25). 2. Paperless office. You don't have to sign and complete 15 pages of questions on your first visit. 3. Vicki, Dr. Drew and Jacyln are very personable, professional and knowledgeable. 4. They take insurance, but even if you don't have any, they are super affordable. 5. Great atmosphere, it is not too stuffy and I always had some laughs when I was there. 6. I started with my ankle and then chose to stay with Exchange Place Therapy Group for PT after I had knee surgery. With the help of Dr. Drew, Jaclyn and the rest of the team, both my knee and ankle are in better shape than before my injury/surgery, and I recovered much quicker than my doctor had expected. Having to deal with a double injury they were able to work with my schedule and I was able to go during my lunch break in order to still have a life outside of work. Highly recommend for adults and Pediatrics! I was a patient here a couple of years ago and was taken care of by Jaclyn and Dr Drew. They greeted me so warmly and was by my side the entire time of my therapy. Both Jaclyn and Dr Drew are so personable and treat their patients like family. One day I had to bring my Son, Zac with me because I had no sitter. He too was in need of physical therapy for the severe curving of both legs and feet. However every therapy center that I had contacted did not offer PT for pediatrics. As a result, Zac was slated for surgery on both legs and I was heartbroken because not only he had to endure so much by just being a preemie and having countless dr visits but now another surgery for a different part of his body was a blow for us. however that one session when I had no sitter changed my sons' life and mine. Jaclyn took one look at him and and asked me if I would allow her to treat him before proceeding with surgery. I did not know they offered Pediatric physical therapy! It was very clear that Jaclyn cared about his condition and began working on him that same day. Amazing! This shows how much the EPTG team cares for their patients. Jaclyn and Drew worked very hard with him during his visits. It was going to be a long road but they were not giving up on him. I slowly began to see the improvements and my son was no longer tripping over his feet. I cried tears of joy to see how well he was doing. Dr Drew even uncovered another issue that Zac had and we were unaware of. EPTG Pediatrics team were dedicated and changed his life by simply not giving up on him and having empathy. My baby girl was diagnosed with torticollis when she was 8 months old. My husband found Exchange Place Therapy Group through ZocDoc. We didn't have any references but it was convenient because it was close to our house. I was scared since you never know how a baby can take physical therapy and I didn't know if the torticollis was severe. Once I met with Dr. Drew all my concerns went away, he was clear but at the same time made me feel safe and comfortable. My baby loved to go there also because the team was super friendly and she had fun every time. Dr. Drew was had so much patience with my baby and made all the process seem so smooth. 5 stars is not enough! I recently had a bad trip and fall. After visiting an orthopedic surgeon and obtaining an X-ray and MRI, they discovered I had a fractured right shoulder and a torn labrum as well as some other soft tissue damage. Needless to say, I was completely immobile on my right side and in excruciating pain. My doctor did not recommend surgery but prescribed intense physical therapy. After reading countless 5 star reviews about EPTG online, I made an appointment with Nicole. Upon entering the Hoboken office, I was immediately impressed by the level of professionalism and cleanliness of the clinic. Everyone was extremely friendly as well. Due to my situation (i.e., trauma injury), Nicole recommend starting slow and working into a more comprehensive routine as the injury began to heal. The exercises and stretches immediately began to work wonders. After only a few sessions, I began to feel almost instant relief and increased mobility. Thereafter, Nicole and others at the clinic repeatedly followed up with me by email, phone, and text to ensure I was staying on track with at home exercises as well. It has been several months since my first visit, and I am back to 100% (and have likely even increased my pre-injury flexibility and strength). I went with the clinic with the best reviews online, and it definitely paid off. Don't waste your time with second tier physical there clinics. I injured my wrist a few months ago and was told that I needed physical therapy and possibly surgery if PT was not successful. I chose EPTG because the location was convenient, however my experience so far has truly exceeded my expectations. I found Exchange Place TG as a referral from a prominent doctor after fracturing my right foot in February. I have been going to EPTG since early March to rehab and treat another issue with my left foot. This office is just exceptional! I can not say enough about this office and staff. The staff Drew, Jacqueline, Katie and the whole crew actually like each other and get along well. Every visit, I see them laughing, smiling and partnering to work with all of the clients on therapy plans, exercises and overall treatment. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun but serous in treating all of us clients. When I come in for treatment, there is always a daily plan for me based on where I am in my therapy and level of healing. They are very organized as well as current with my doctor on discussion of my treatment. I find that they speak to my doctor frequently as to progress and provide updates. I like this as I feel that my doctor and EPTG are on the same page and aligned as to my treatment and success. I like that they give each patient personal attention on every visit. The exercises are challenging, so be prepared to work hard and expect to get in a good hour of therapy each visit. They have all the best equipment and are trained in the latest therapy techniques. Overall the office is very clean, comfortable and well spaced out. You will have plenty of space to complete your exercises. My progress has been excellent and my right foot has been coming along at a solid pace. Two colleagues have also used EPTG and they have achieved excellent results as well. The office staff is very professional as well. They work to handle billing, insurance and scheduling of appointments in a very professional and flexible manner. Less issues to worry about while you are focused on recovery and therapy. I wish I could give 10 stars to EPTG because it is very worthy of it. Plus, Chloe the super sweet therapy dog should have her own rating. Chloe is just the sweetest dog to cuddle with while you are getting stim and massage.
