I've had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences of my life with Evolved. I needed a very minimal tattoo touch-up--just seven letters, probably less than 30 minutes of work. Because I missed the original touch-up window, I was already frustrated about having to pay nearly the full cost of the tattoo again. I was hoping to use a $150 gift card to cover it, but was told over the phone that gift cards couldn't be used for deposits unless I came in person. When I came into the shop, I was then told that gift cards can't be used for deposits at all. Worse, the person at the front desk said they had reviewed a transcript and claimed the original message was clear--implying that I had either misunderstood or was lying. That moment alone was humiliating. What bothers me most isn't just the confusing policy--it's the total lack of care or compassion throughout this process. It felt arbitrary, cold, and dismissive. I walked away hurt and deeply disappointed. Evolved might have talented artists, but I can't recommend them based on how I was treated. read more

This was not my first rodeo at Evolved, but I'm finally giving a review. 10/10 is the best shop I've been to in Columbus. My friends and I went to the Summit shop to get pierced by Brody. I don't think I'll be getting pierced by anyone else. One of my friends got an Anti Tragus, another got a Heli, and I got a custom Industrial. Brody is honestly a Saint for dealing with our shenanigans, but it was well worth it because all 3 look awesome. read more

It's been several years since I've gotten a new piercing, and this is the first time I've been to the Summit location for a piercing (I've been once for a jewelry change many years ago). I've never had a bad experience at Evolved, and this experience was exactly what I expected it to be. I had booked two piercing appointments a week ago for myself and a friend, so from walking in the door at noon, selecting our jewelry, meeting our piercer (Christine), and heading to the back for our sessions, it was a pretty quick process. The longest part of the process before getting to the piercings was my friend and I selecting jewelry... but that was because they had some many options to look through, and we had trouble deciding! The front of house staff member (I'm so sorry, but I didn't catch your name... looking at the staff profiles on the Evolved website, I'm PRETTY sure it was Azyah) was kind, informative, and professional. They took into account our budgets, preferences, and the look of other jewelry that we already had to coordinate for the new piercings. They made suggestions as we asked questions, and never tried to push us out of our budget. Thank you for your help and suggestions! Christine was absolutely FANTASTIC! My friend and I went back together and I went first for two piercings (septum & nostril) and a jewelry change (other nostril, for a long healed piercing). I let Christine know ahead of time that I almost always get light-headed with blood draws and vaccines/piercings, but what I wasn't expecting was that I would start getting dizzy BEFORE the piercing even happened. That's never happened to me before, but while Christine was working on the placement for the septum piercing (she said she usually does that one with people sitting up), I started getting light-headed; as soon as I said something to her, Christine had me lay down and gave me plenty of time until I was ready to continue. She gave me a glucose tablet (checking first if I was diabetic or there was any other reason I shouldn't have that), and got me some water. If she was in a hurry or flustered at all about the time it was taking me to feel okay, it didn't show. She was incredibly kind and talked to me and my friend while my body stopped freaking out! Because I had such a strong reaction, she decided to go ahead and do the septum piercing with me laying down (good call!) instead. We got through the septum piercing, she checked on me again to make sure I was doing okay, and once I confirmed I was, we moved on to the new nostril piercing. That was done pretty quick, and we followed up with the jewelry change for my other nostril. There was one minor hiccup in the process, in that the initial jewelry for my septum was incorrect. After the piercing, my friend noticed before I had sat up to see, and Christine quickly sorted out the correct jewelry. I think it was just a bit of miscommunication between front of house and back, but it got resolved quickly, with no harm done. My piercings looked great once they were done, and I loved the jewelry selection! My friend had two forward helix piercings (one in each ear), that were much less dramatic than mine (no light-headedness!), and Christine was great with her too. When my friend was unsure if the marks for the piercings were evenly placed between each ear, Christine, checked, double-checked, got my input as well to confirm, and made sure my friend was happy with the placement before moving forward. The piercings ended up looking super cute! Christine - We both SO appreciated your time, professionalism, and kindness today. Thank you for taking care of me when I got so dizzy, and not making me feel rushed to recover! I would 100% recommend Evolved as a whole for piercings, and Christine specifically as a piercer! Yesterday was my daughters 17th Birthday & she & I went & got piercings. I got my right brow & she got her industrial done. We went to the shop at 1980 N. High st up on campus. We didn't make an appointment so we was a walk-in, I think all together we was probably there for about an hr or so. Holly did our piercings & she was the sweetest person & she talked us thru it & had us breathe in & out & BAAMM it was done. I've got 10 piercings & all the places I've been to Holly was the only one who made us comfortable & at ease before she pushed that needle thru lol. My Daughter was the nervous one lol but then after it was done she was like OH! That kinda didn't hurt, my nose piercing hurt more lol. The ladies at the front desk was very kind & helped us w/ all my questions & picking out our brow & industrial products & they sterilized them right in front of us, which I nvr seen other shops do it so I always wondered if they really did it or not. So I appreciated that. The only thing that kinda sucked was finding a spot to park w/out getting towed, my husband walked us in & then went to sit in the car bc we didn't want to get a ticket or towed. Also walking up & down two flights of stairs, not sure if they have a elevator for handicapped ppl, I should've called & asked before we went & told them I have a Brittle Bone Disease & it's hard for me to go up & down stairs but that was my fault. I thought they was like the other shops I've been in where there's no stairs & you just walk in, but it was fine it was my fault for not calling & asking. All in all Evolved is an awesome place w/awesome ppl Ima recommend them to everyone who is interested in piercings or tattoos. I've only been here for jewelry changes, not piercings. They have a wonderful selection of jewelry. I like gold jewelry, and they have more than any other piercing shop I've been to. I've had 2 different piercers do my jewelry changes, and each has been very kind and professional. I walked in both times, and the wait was not long. I knocked a star because I went in to get my rook jewelry changed (I had 16g jewelry in it at the time and wanted to stay at that gauge) and left with 18g jewelry in there without realizing. Maybe it was my fault for not clarifying, but I assumed they would look at my current piercing and recommend jewelry of the same gauge, or ask if I was okay with going down in size. I like the jewelry, but I am disappointed since I did want to stay at 16g, and now I'll have to stretch it if I want to put that size in again... read more

Booked an appointment for a tattoo early June putting $50 cash deposit down at that time as required. Became necessary to cancel appointment prior to the date and was told there was no issue, that I could reschedule it at a later date. Returned to book new appointment only to be told that "another" $50 deposit was necessary because I had not contacted them to reschedule. There is NOTHING on the website nor on the receipt I was e-mailed indicating such a policy was in place. Neither was there any indication how long I had to reschedule, in this case it was two months. When I attempted to resolve this I was told this is there policy and "cannot" be adjusted for. I would STRONGLY discourage any family members or friends from patronizing EVOLVEDBODYART due their lack of friendliness and consideration for the customer. Anyone with even a "rudimentary comprehension" of good business practice would not "cut off their nose to spite their face". There is no more effective advertisement than the testimony of a satisfied customer, especially to a small business, and it costs NOTHING. The inverse can be equally damaging in a negative sense, and the costs can be SUBSTANTIAL! Not only has EVOLVEDBODYART lost the $150-$200 I would have gladly paid to complete the work, it has lost any business this NEGATIVE review might influence. All for a mere $50, does this make sense on any level? PATHETIC! read more

Overall my experience was very good. I tried to walk in on Saturday evening and it was too late to fit me in so I booked an appointment for Sunday afternoon, but then when I came in it was super busy and they'd added a couple of walk-ins to my artist's schedule so she ended up far behind and it was either come back in a couple of hours or come in the next day and I opted for the latter. The next day, the artist I was booked with, Maria (a visiting artist from Amsterdam) worked through my design with me and talked with me through the size/placement. Her work was gorgeous and is was done pretty quickly. I'd love to work with her again but I'm grateful I got the pieces I did. Customer service at the shop was solid, they have a number of people working out front and me and everyone else that walked in while I was there was waited on quickly and courteously. I was a little bummed I had to come back because they overbooked my gal, but I understand that tattooing isn't a matter of slapping some ink on so you might not be done at an exact time. At any rate, I'd recommend this joint and I'll come back. 4.5 stars read more

When asking friends for a place to get a piercing, every single person said Evolved. After my experience today, I can see why!! I scheduled an appointment to get my flat pierced instead of doing a walk-in. I'm so glad I did because they were very busy! I probably would have been waiting for a while had it not been for the appointment. I was greeted upon arrival and was asked to fill out a form before selecting jewelry. The person assisting me asked for my preferred pronouns, which I thought was nice! She then showed me the gem options and was extremely helpful! She discussed the shape of my ear, size of gem, price, and other important details to take into consideration. After choosing a piece, I waited until an artist was available. It couldn't have been longer than 10 minutes before being brought into a room. I met the artist and then talked about the placement of the gem. Because my ear shape is a little odd, he marked a couple of points so that I could choose the one I liked best. The actual piercing lasts seconds and feels like a strong pinch. Easy peasy. Afterwards, he told me about aftercare and took photos for his portfolio. He did awesome and I'm so pleased with my experience!! I purchased the saline spray, checked out, and was on my way home!
