I had an appointment scheduled for 1/24/24 for my routine cleaning. The Dr.'s office called me this morning at 9:49 am. The person on the other end of the phone advised me that I must have a deep cleaning done, regardless of my financial situation. This is approximately $1800.00. Recent financial hurdles have put me in a situation. Where I need to hold off on the deep cleaning. I am fifty-seven and I have only ever had one deep cleaning in my life, which was two years ago at this office. According to the representative that called me, "Me not Having this service, prevents them from performing my bi-annual teeth cleaning." The representative was extorting me to perform the big $ service or not have the option for my routine cleaning and x-rays. I did advise the representative that called me that I would be looking for a new Dentist. There was no reply from the representative when I advised her of my intentions. This is how a business with a focus on profits treats a longtime patron vs a business with the patrons needs (both medical and financial) as their primary focus. I took away from this conversation if you go to Bright Smiles and you have a more profitable service they deem as mandatory, they will eventually require the expensive procedure to be done. If you do not do it, they will cut you off from the basic services provided by dentists. Make sure your credit cards have room or you have disposable funds, when considering Bright Smiles. As an 8-year customer, I was blown away by the audacity of the representative and the entire Management Team of Bright Smiles. If you are looking for a Dentist office in the Columbus area, I would NOT Consider Bright Smiles for the reason mentioned above. DMC

But, this was actually pretty painless. They were able to give a reasonable explanation of the prices based on my insurance discount card and schedule both me and the husband into slots that had been cancelled, so we got in within a week of calling. Given that it's just one guy, I expected a smaller office, but there were several people in the waiting room when I got there. They had sent the paperwork ahead, so I had that ready, and I was called back promptly. And I was reminded that I am a Yankee in a strange land, as my lovely hygienist (who was 60 if she was day) alternately called me sweetie, honey, baby, and dear. Now, this is NOT a hand-holding practice like my last dentist. I wanted my teeth cleaned and she did that, with a minimum of asking me about my history (both she and the doctor seemed to be able to tell a lot from just looking in my mouth, which was nice) or telling me what she was up to. There's no offer of Netflix, music, or a blanket, and honestly, I can do without all that crap, but if you are apprehensive or like a little less rough and tumble, this might not be the practice for you. Dr. Goins was very nice (and Southern...again, Yankee!), took a quick look, and declared me all set, come back in 6 months and call if I need anything. After my last dentist having declared me a periodontal near-disaster, this was certainly a refreshing change! I got exactly what I needed -- a good cleaning -- and no unnecessary procedures or worries, for a whopping $94 including bitewing x-rays. A-OK indeed.

The next morning she went to a different dentist in the city and they did a horrible job fixing it! She called me in tears and asked what she could do. She told the dentist she was not happy with it, so they worked on her some more, made it worse and told her that was the best they could do. My daughter was devastated! We sent pictures to our dentist in MN and she said they should be able to repair it much better than it was, so my daughter made an appointment as New Image. At her consultation, the dentist confirmed he could make the broken tooth match her other front tooth. He spoke with me on the phone and we discussed insurance issues (since she had gone to a different dentist for this tooth already) and fees. She soon had her appointment to get it fixed and she is so happy with the outcome! She even scheduled her next appointment with him (rather than coming home for her cleaning)! Thank you for making my daughter smile again!!!
