Great staff, understanding and supportive therapist. Comprehensive DBT being offered was big reason I went and I am happy with the program.

I really like this location. There is plenty of parking. They provide regular services that are…read moreimmediately useful in the real world. Everyone has problems from time to time and it is comforting and welcoming to know that is something serious happens that a place like the Turning Point Clubhouse (through Community Care Services) is here. More importantly - it is knowing that the people who staff and manage it are here with us. They are professional, have great experience, are compassionate, organized and effective. A sense of community is only a phone call or a visit away. I recently attended a talk at this location hosted by the Downriver FAN (Families Against Narcotics) given by Dr. Christensen from Ann Arbor. I learned a great deal about addiction and recovery. During my visit I was also able to gather meaningful information about other services in the area. These include computer training, food assistance and job assistance. (At the meeting we had some great mostaccioli - they put sausage in it - Yowie! It was great!) I will add their own words : "A sense of belonging, self-worth and accomplishment is critical as individuals recovering from a serious mental illness begin to integrate into the community. Turning Point Clubhouse, a voluntary psycho-social rehabilitation program, provides its members a safe and inspiring environment to expand their social network, explore interests and develop new skills. Turning Point Clubhouse, runs on a work ordered day, which means members are responsible for day-to-day operations. Our members have a strong sense of pride and ownership in the clubhouse and this confidence carries over to other areas of their life. Responsibilities include: *Planning menus and shopping for food *Preparing meals and snacks *Managing budgets and handling cash *Tracking product inventory *Performing computer and clerical tasks *Writing newsletters and community outreach *Maintaining the facility *Planning social outings *Leading tours and orientations *And more..."

I cannot find the Roseville location to comment on so I will just leave it here…read more I take reviews with a grain of salt and did just that when I read the comments for this place. However the low reviews can be trusted. I got set up with a therapist that didn't really seem to understand what I was saying and her big thing was pushing getting on medication, which I told her I did not like to take. I did a couple of sessions to see if it would get better but it did not and I found one elsewhere that even the first meeting was sooooo much better. My daughter was seeing a different therapist from the same location for a couple of months. The therapist told her she didn't feel comfortable with her anymore and hoped she finds someone that is patient for her to talk to? It's already hard for her to open up. There are always 2 sides to every story but it just seems like these therapists don't actually listen or don't really want to help??

This place doesn't give a shit about people. I used to be a client. My therapist left Southgate to…read morego to Ann Arbor which was too far for me to drive so I asked to get another therapist. I wanted to see someone in person. Well after COVID let everyone work from home all the therapists are lazy and don't want to come in anymore. I was told they had no therapists that would do in person in the Southgate or even the next closest location, Dearborn. I asked the receptionist who I could speak to about the hiring of therapists who could accommodate the patient instead of doing what was convenient for themselves. She said they don't tell the therapists what to do. The therapists do what they want to. I said I wasnt asking them to tell the therapists what to do but that they should hire new therapists who actually could accommodate the needs of the patients. She was not friendly and in fact downright rude, talking over me and repeating the same thing over and over instead of answering my question. And, I couldn't get her to give me a phone number of someone I could talk to about not being able to get in to see anyone. People who are at this point in their life already have enough problems without a therapy office being so unaccommodating and making things more difficult. That is the OPPOSITE of what they should be doing. SMFH !!!
