I'll be honest, I have had some good experiences here. When you actually can get a boot fitter, they are generally very knowledgeable. However, this most recent experience is completely unacceptable. They took in my girlfriends ski boots last Sunday for a small punch, then closed until further notice on Monday morning without any chance to come get the boots or warning they might be closing on Sunday evening. So now my girlfriend can't go skiing because they have her boots held hostage at the shop. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. read more

I originally went in for a SB boot fitting with my current Vans, but didn't realize they were an entire size too big. ZEINA is the bomb. She is so sweet and genuinely knows her stuff. She takes her time with you and explains everything in detail. She let me try on different brands in my size and informed me about arch support. I've been to their Seattle location a few times and ordered online, but the expertise offered in-store paired with the availability of product is truly exceptional. I came into the store on a Sunday evening, looking for a new helmet, goggles, and gloves. I had some specific requirements for helmets and goggles because of my glasses as well as some budget requirements, and my sales associate Sean did an awesome job of walking me through all my options while listening to the feedback I was providing him. We easily found solutions that worked for me within a price bracket I could stomach, and at no point did I feel pressured or like Sean was hurrying to close the deal. This shop is awesome. Their website has some of the best deals on skis I was able to find, so I placed an order to be delivered to their Denver store. When I got there to pick up my order a few minutes before 6 o'clock, I see a sign on the register that they were closing at 6 for a private function. I was bummed, because I knew I'd need my new ski boots fitted, and I didn't think I'd be able to get that done so I could have my skis mounted and ready to ride this weekend. Well, after telling the staff member who helped me, Elliot, that I had sat in traffic for 40 minutes to get there, he made an exception to help me out. He got me into properly fitting boots and got everything set up. Again, Elliot did not have to do this, he could have just as easily said, "sorry, you gotta come back tomorrow." But he didn't, he took care of me, and I couldn't be more excited to get out on the slopes with my new skis this weekend. It wouldn't have happened without Elliot going out of his way to help, and I couldn't be more appreciative. After this awesome experience, I won't go anywhere other than Evo. MARSHALL IS THE MAN. Actually though, if you need anything to deal with snowboard boots, bindings, etc. he is your guy. One of the most knowledgeable, friendly and helpful people I've encountered. He even stayed a good bit after hours to make sure everything I needed was good to go. I had the best shopping experience ever at Evo! All of the staff were helpful and friendly. I truly appreciated all of the measures taken to ensure a safe time while in the store. We were there about 2 hours and had help the entire time. Zeina was excellent! She was knowledgeable about all of the equipment and helped me to find a board that would be an upgrade but not too different from what I have been used to. I have been riding clicker bindings for over 20 years and was thrilled that K2 finally came out with an upgrade that included women. I recently took my snowboard in for a preseason tune and the results were outstanding. I had a small core shot near the edge which they took care of and not only did they edge and wax my board they really took the time to do it right. I was told when I picked it up that it was going to be fast and was he right. Today I was up at Keystone and not only was the board smooth and super fast the edges were razor sharp. I was expecting fast but man like the scene in Christmas vacation, he must of used a NASA grade wax because that bad boy moooooved. I was in town for a trade show and wanted to add a couple ski days to the end of my trip. I decided it was time for some new ski boots this trip and did some online research for boot styles and fit first, then used Yelp and other sources to review the best shops in Denver who would spend time helping me with the fitting. I decided to shop Christy Sports and EVO based on selection and locations. I went to Christy Sports first and honestly was disappointed in not only their selection, I felt like they were trying to sell me on the few boots left in stock in my size. Since I planned to shop both before buying anyway I headed to EVO. Wow what a difference. Go here for your boots, skis and anything else you need. Jeff W was awesome and spent over an hour making sure I tried a lot of different boots that fit my ski ability and foot size until we found the perfect fit for me. Highly recommend! I bought my first pair of skis and boots online through Evo after doing rentals for several years and had them delivered to the Denver store. I made an appointment online for a boot fitting as I wasn't completely sure I had the right size I needed. I was paired with Dale for my boot fitting and he was so nice and knowledgeable and informed me that I needed a size bigger. He made the whole process easy and provided excellent customer service. He showed me a different boot in store that was my right size and cheaper than the original boot I bought so he didn't try to up-sale me, but I decided to stick with my original purchase and return for a bigger size. Boots were delivered in a week and came back in to have them heat molded and pleasantly surprised to have Dale assist me again! The whole process was quick and easy and now thanks to Dale I'm excited to ski this winter! Thanks Dale!! read more

Bike rentals at EVO were great! We rented the cheaper cruiser bikes to save a little money over a few day rental. They were very nice Giant bikes - real roadworthy bikes - far better than the clunky base models we have gotten in other cities when traveling. Made the riding on Denver's great bike path system very enjoyable, including an all day ride from downtown exploring out past Red Rocks. The staff was very helpful. Ryan fixed us up with our bikes. Knew what he was doing, and was really nice. We needed a few things from the store as well, and they were well stocked and quite helpful. I want to note I have purchased items from Evo previously as well as demo'ed a bike. I have had good experiences in the past and several of the employees have been great and super helpful. The place is very nice and carries awesome stuff. Unfortunately, this experience was different. My wife took our snowboard and skis in to get them sharpened and waxed. She was told she would need to remove the bindings on the board. She let them know she had no idea how to as it was my board and she had never really handled a snowboard. She was told there was a screwdriver behind her and "you'll figure it out". After struggling with the board another customer walked over and helped her out. Not the employee behind the counter. I understand you can't sharpener the board with the bindings, I don't understand you not offering to help. The value of going to Evo vs. a larger REI is for the more personalized experience. Unfortunately, my wife didn't get that today. UPDATE: Jordan commented below and quickly remedied the situation. The fast follow up is great and much appreciated.
