In a conveniently located corner boutique on Main St. I was looking for a unique Christmas gift for one of my longtime friends and had driven by this cute little shop many times. The days of procrastination were over, however, as the mail deadline was fast approaching if it was going to make it on time. So in my boyfriend and I stepped, out of the near freezing weather and into the warmth and wonderful smells of the Mad Habit. There is most certainly a little something for everyone here. Hand stitched animal pillows (my favorite was either the owl or the kitty), soaps and lotions, colorful original artworks, and so many other odds and ends that I could go on at length. . . .but will not. I circled the store about three times trying to decide on which of the many options my friend would love best. It was a close call between a kitty pillow or a crocheted rose hair band, but the hair band won. The colors will compliment her hair perfectly, and it is truly a one of a kind - knowing her, she will really appreciate it's originality. If I had unlimited resources, I could have easily spend a few hundred dollars in here. I am a collector of funky, odd bags (purses would be a loose term) and saw a handful I would love to add to my collection. One made of men's ties was one, another was made of an old, burlap, coffee bean bag. Mad Habit has definitely not seen the last of me.
