Chicken gnocchi - it was a bit soupy.

Waitstaff is very personable and fun. Food is a touch pricey vs quality and portion, but most everything is delicious. Pass on the pasta, go for seafood type dishes, and you'll be quite happy. Cocktails are well above average in design and taste!

Amazing service and delicious food! We came in for a later dinner around 8:30 p.m. with a group of six and were seated right away. The staff was very accommodating.

Food and drinks was good but they didn't have my favorite dessert and I have it only once a year. I was upset about it but I will call next time to make sure it's available.

We went here for dinner and it was delicious. I'm downtown Douglas it was a quick walk from where we were staying. We started with the wasabi ahi tuna appetizer and it was delicious. I highly recommend it. My friend got the duck two ways and I got the sea bass. The sea bass was good but the duck was great. Overall the food was good and the service was great.

Great food and drinks! It felt like a really homey place, staff was welcoming and the vibes were there while dinning.

Last night 2 of my best friends and I went there for dinner. The place was crowded for a Thursday which was great. We waited for 30 minutes which was fine. Once we got to our table we looked at the menu. Thursday was burger night, so of course we had to get one. My friend is a vegetarian and he asked if they had an impossible burger which they did. For drinks, I had the French Pear. Made with Grey Goose Vodka, St Germaine, Sparkling Brut, and Sugared Rim. My other friend had a Grey Goose Lemon Drop and the other friend had a Dirty Martini. We all had the burgers and fries. Also, the burger and fries come with a glass of Bordeaux Wine for an extra $5. Our server was nice and friendly. And of course, we had dessert. An Apple and Cherry Crisp with whipped cream. The dessert was warm and tasty. Matt the owner came out to talk to us and we told him how great our meal was. If you are planning a trip to Douglas/Saugatuck make sure to stop by Everyday People Cafe and if you are vegetarian make sure you ask for the impossible burger.

My husband and I came back to Saugatuck a year later & had to return here for dinner. I forgot to take pictures but the lamb meatballs with pita and feta as an appetizer was excellent. We tried the tomato Boursin soup and we both had the filet saltimbocca. All I can say is WOW. It was an amazing explosion of flavor. Anyone who comes to the Saugatuck/Douglas area needs to have dinner here at least one evening. Again the service was excellent.

I was staying in south haven with my sisters and I'm so glad we visited the cute little town of Douglas. We loved this restaurant. We sat outside and had some amazing appetizers. The owner was friendly and came out to check on us. He recommended food and beer. The tuna app was amazing. We loved the pizza!! I'm not a lamb person but the lamb meatballs were incredible. I loved getting to sit outside and enjoy the small town vibe. Free street parking. Super friendly staff! I can't wait to come back.

Excellent dinner spot in Douglas. We enjoyed eating outside on the back patio. I had a perfect steak and a superb drink.

Worst service ever. Charging premium prices then you have to wait hours for your food.

Alas, no. I inquired within whether or not they allows dogs on the outdoor patio tables...they said not anymore....--there was 'an incident'. For what it's worth...I think… Read more

And subsequently there was no wait to grab a table at the Butler. I've only ever been outside on their massive patio in the summer that they recently built, so this was the first time dining inside. It was definitely dated inside. Carpets throughout with an old school supper club vibe. The food was good, not great. Nothing noteworthy. Our family ordered got the Butler burger, mac and cheese with brisket, pickle fries, caesar salad, and the stuffed mushrooms. The service was probably the highlight. Our server was incredibly nice and even spoke Spanish to our uncles who were visiting us from Ecuador. He was super attentive and on top of everything. You should check them out in the summer and enjoy the patio views. Hold off on going during the winter if you're able to.

We went during a blizzard, so expectations were already low. There was maybe one other couple in…read morethe restaurant and at least five people working, yet everything felt oddly chaotic. Our bartender kept saying they were so slow that everyone kept making mistakes--which was strange, given how empty the place was. Our order was wrong multiple times. The cheeseburger was greasy, and fries we didn't order showed up tasting like rancid oil. The onion rings we did order came out after we were basically done eating and were completely burnt and inedible. The chicken salad arrived with no chicken and kind of a sloppy mess. When we mentioned it, a plate of dried, overcooked chicken breast was brought out separately. The food overall felt like cheap diner food, but the prices are not cheap ($17-$24 for burgers and salads). The draft beers are good . We normally avoid eating here because the food is pretty abysmal. In the summer, the only real benefit is the patio. This visit just confirmed why we don't eat here--gave it another chance and now we are done

Apology: I didn't take any pictures of the food because we were hungry and it was delicious…read more We went to Phil's while in town visiting The Dunes for the Miss Gay Michigan America Pageant this weekend. Walking in we were immediately redirected because we didn't notice the please wait to be seated sign that was outside of the door. It would be nice if the sign had been a little more visible or if we had been redirected more kindly. We were sat immediately and even though I tend to hate high tops, the chairs were sturdy and comfortable. Between myself and my friends we ordered the grilled ham and cheese, the nutty salad, and the burger (with cheddar, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mayo, ketchup, and mustard). We all loved our food and it came out quickly. I ordered my burger medium-well and it was cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive and made sure to refill our water frequently. At the end of our meal they gave us little cups of animal crackers, which was just the cutest touch! Overall loved and would totally return and recommend.

We grabbed seats at the bar, and the place was full of locals which honestly tells you everything you need to know right there. And not just full... but full of the nicest people. The kind of place where you feel like you belong within five minutes. Now let's talk about Jimmy... WOW. Absolute rockstar behind the bar. Not only was he making amazing drinks, but he was also doing his best to convince us to ditch our dinner reservations and stay honestly, he almost had us The drinks were so good we ended up coming back later that night for dessert... because clearly we weren't done yet. But here's the part that got me I casually mentioned it was my birthday weekend, nothing big... and the NEXT DAY while we were walking around downtown, we look up and there's my name on the marquee wishing me a happy birthday. Like... who does that?! That kind of thoughtfulness is just next level and completely made my day. Phil's isn't just a bar--it's a whole experience. Every time we walked by, it was packed, and after being there... I get it. They're doing a lot right. If you're anywhere near Saugatuck--GO. Sit at the bar, order a drink, and just enjoy it. You'll probably end up staying longer than you planned too

A group of six of us stopped in for lunch recently and sat on the upstairs deck which was lovely. We were seated at two round tables pushed together which didn't make for the best conversation flow, but we enjoyed the nice weather and atmosphere. Our server was awesome - super kind and helpful with suggestions and on top of service. I ordered the BLT & T wrap with fries, which was pretty tasty. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, and I liked the accompanying cup of ranch. It was also a large portion- I ended up eating the whole thing since were were walking around afterwards and I didn't want to have to carry my leftovers. I was super full! The menu is pretty basic but it did the trick. It was fun hearing some of the bands at night playing here while we were walking around the area. We tried to go to the comedy show on Saturday evening but it was sold out.

We ordered the calamari, which was cold and tiny portion. The wedge salad was just some lettuce, not a wedge, with a few tomatoes, onions and blue cheese for $14. Not worth it. Next time we wait the hour for Butler. The server brought the check and asked about dessert while we were all still eating which was annoying. We heard another table comment on that as well.
