This was the second time I have eaten here. The service is good, the cocktails use unique ingredients and are really tasty, and the atmosphere is welcoming and hip--they were playing some funky music which gave the place a good energy. We started with a tuna appetizer. The nuttiness of the sesame seeds paired with lemon sauce and the pickle vegetable worked really well. It is the kind of dish you have to learn to eat as you go. To get the balance of all the elements on the plate right for that perfect bite. I had the hanger steak with soba noodles. The soy ginger marinade came through in the dish and this piece of meat was nice and tender. Though have of it was lightly over done; I think because it steamed a bit on the plate. Another thing to watch out for with this dish are grill marks that taste burnt. The soba noodles had the perfect spice level and the seasoning and flavors were a welcome and refreshing change from your typical steak house sides. My wife had the chicken breast with serrano cream. It was cooked pretty well with a juicy middle and one side was nicely carmelized from the heat of the pan. Over all it was a good dish but the sauce had broken so you could see the butter or oil separate from the cream. For dessert we tried the New York style cheese cake with Michigan cherries. The cake lacked flavor and my wife said it tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for too long. The cherries where really good. But we sent it back. If the cake is no good we don't want it. Our waitress was great. She said she could take it off our bill but suggested the creme brulee with raspberry. We ordered it. We ate here on Sunday the 25th of Aug, 2024 at the recommendation of the owner of the B & B. We had a beet salad with goat cheese. The goat cheese was marvelous. The beets? Well, I expected home roasted beets but the beets served were in a sauce in chunks, reminding me of store bought beets. The amount of salt was considerable, given that I rarely use salt. We had soup, tomato Boursin and beef and saurerkraut in a parmesan broth. We had another small plate that had blue diamond smoked nuts, cheese, crackers, greens. It was tasty. We don't drink and drive but their cocktail and wine sales are brisk. The room is airy and lit with windows on two sides. There is no door between the kitchen and dining room so direct view is present. The folks are friendly. The service is prompt. The food is interesting. read more

Very slow service........if you are very hungry DO NOT COME HERE!!.they gave us a bread basket that is Soooooo small for a big party minus butter, after 1+ hour.You would be better off at another local diner. . We had 4 hungry kids and felt a strong sense of profiling in terms of service which made us uncomfortable and furious. People who were seated after us were served before us and we felt very neglected. The 2 stars are for the tasty food and for our server Amber who was nice and tried to give an explanation saying there was only one chef in the restaurant but somehow the extra long wait for our food didn't make sense while others who came in later were taken care of. Second visit. Great local spot. We enjoyed the meal. The service was good. My bride had a sidecar, I went with the Old Fashioned with a local rye. Both were good. We didn't get any complimentary bread, but that was fine, we didn't need it. We started with the small Asian Caesar. It was an interesting take on the classic. Glad I tried it, but would likely not go with it again. My better half opted for the Walleye, I chose the Gorgonzola Pork Chop. The Walleye was amazing. Nice balance of almonds and citrus made the fish difficult to do anything but inhale. The pig was fine, she got the better meal. Opted for no desert, but were plenty satisfied. A definite. It's a cafe, so the menu is limited. We were impressed with the food and happy to have the bottomless bubbles (Champagne) with o.j. as well as the build your own bloody. It can be difficult to get a table here on the weekends during high season, but I am here to guarantee it is absolutely worth your effort and trouble! We had a wonderful table in the large back room, and we loved it. Something about this large back room, the big patio, the mix of friendly locals and happy, relaxed tourists - it felt like we were in a Nancy Meyers movie! Our server was wonderful, and the menu was delightful: lots of steaks and chops for those who were into something heartier, lots of salads and fish options for those of us trying to eat lighter. I absolutely loved my mussels, but I also tried everyone else's food: the beef tenderloin, the salmon, the sweet corn risotto - it was all outstanding. We had a few cocktails and few bottles of wine -- there were seven of us and we're on vacation! We loved this place, the people, the staff, the whole feel of it. When I saw Everyday People Cafe's menu, I was super excited to come for dinner. Their Gorgonzola pork chop and a truffle pizza was on my mind. We showed up on a Sunday, and it was pretty empty. Super cute restaurant in a great location. Wish it would have been nice enough to sit on the adorable patio. Service was alright, servers were kind, we were a large group in the back so they weren't super attentive. The food took an hour to come out, we were starving. The burger was way over cooked and fried were cold, this meal was sent back, the burger returned, still way over cooked. All other food was pretty good. Drinks were great. Would recommend for brunch. My husband and I were in Saugatuck to celebrate our one-year anniversary. Not only did we discover Everyday People Cafe on Yelp, but it came highly recommended from several trusted sources. After researching online, we saw that they offer brunch on both Saturday and Sunday. My husband had to leave early on Sunday to head back to work so a Saturday brunch to celebrate our anniversary was perfect - plus how can you say no to a Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar and unlimited bubbles (aka champagne!). We arrived around noon and were seated right away at the tall table in the bar area. It wasn't too crowded, but started to fill own. We ordered the BYOBM and received a pint glass with a hefty pour of top shelf vodka. The "bar" portion was set up with a great Bloody Mary mix along with all kinds of flavorings...a variety of hot sauces, horseradish, dill sauce, etc. Add in the garlic shrimp, sausages, salami, peppers, celery, pickles and cheeses and it's basically a meal in itself. My one recommendation was be to add fresh lemons/limes...although I obviously didn't miss it enough to ask for it until I was almost finished! It's a unique brunch menu include some small plates, including a Spanish tapas selection that sounded amazing, some breakfast twists, a few sandwiches and a couple of specials. Some of the selections are listed as Bubbles & Bites, which means unlimited champagne is included. I couldn't resist the BLT&E (minus the tomato and mayo) which included bacon, lettuce, avocado, egg and goat cheese served with a side of fries. Talk about a decadent breakfast sandwich - rich and delicious! Not to mention huge - my husband was happy to help me with it! The sandwich itself was $9 or upped to $20 with the unlimited champagne - definitely worth it! The bubbles were fantastic - I didn't even have to ask for a refill as they were filling my glass before it ever emptied! My husband couldn't resist the burger which was topped with gorgonzola and fried leeks - the only thing he would change would be to add bacon. Service was great and it was the perfect relaxed atmosphere for brunch and to kick off our anniversary weekend. We can't wait to go back and try it for dinner! read more

This is a must visit if you are in the area. The food was top notch! I had the pork shank and it was incredible. My wife described her dish as "the perfect pasta". We finished it off with (I think I'm getting this right) Crème Brûlée Napoleon. Basically you take the goodness of Crème Brûlée then add a flaky pastry and a raspberry sauce. Simply unbelievable. If the food isn't enough to sell you, the atmosphere was very laid back and Stephanie was a fantastic server. She was incredibly sweet and attentive. We ate there again in late June 2024. Although they don't take reservations, the hostess was at the door at 4:30 writing down names and phone numbers of people whom they would notify when their table was ready, after the 5 o'clock opening. This was fine with us because while we waited we could either go to happy hour or browse one of the galleries or stores that were within a block of the restaurant. As always, the atmosphere was nice and the service was good. Every dish we had we liked. The only disappointments came from the fact, they said, that they were understaffed. Their outside patio was closed because they didn't have the staff to keep it open that evening. And our all-time favorite appetizer, Drunken Shrimp Sambucca, wasn't available because, the server said, they didn't have enough cooking staff to manage it (it takes a little more special preparation than some of the other things). read more

We started with the Drunken Shrimp Sambuca, delicious! My hubby had the super tender Beef Tenderloin (the mushrooms, YUM) while I split the Herb Roasted Chicken & Risotto with our toddler. All that was left was the bone it was so good! The risotto was one of the best I've ever had. Our adult drinks included the herbal tasting Paper Plane cocktails, it was citrusy and refreshing. I give it 4 stars because they weren't serving starters and charged $8 for bread. The lemon drop martinis were yummy. I shared Sea Bass with my friend and added a salad which was plenty of food. The ambiance was wonderful, the wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was stellar. My 8 yr old was able to order a simple cheese pizza that wasn't on the menu and we all had the EPC burger. The 1/2 lb ground beef was amazing and just the way a hand-made burger should be. Everyday People is a lovely dining establishment. I loved being in here! It's classy and refined but not stuffy or pompous. I'm not going to call it "casual" but it's definitely cozy for a more upscale place. First off, I think everyone enjoyed their drinks. The people I was with ordered various martinis while I had a glass of bubbly that was surprisingly strong for being so sweet. I regret not trying any of their cocktails because they looked fun. Our waiter was a gem! He checked on us frequently and cracked lots of jokes. We really liked how friendly the staff was here. The only part I'm iffy about is the food itself. The pork chop was okay but chewier than we would've liked. BF thought the seafood pasta was really good but honestly all I tasted was salt! Way too much salty, not enough creamy. My salmon was slightly undercooked. The lobster risotto it was served on was alright but contained only a couple small chunks of lobster. I had a stomach ache after eating here which I attest to too much cheese on the risotto (cheese is G-d's gift to man but too often it is used as a lazy way to mask a bland dish). I think maybe it was just an off day because everyone raves about this place. I would give them another chance next time I'm in Douglas because the environment is great! read more
