I contacted them in late March and left a voicemail to cancel my services because I went in the ER in 3/21 with difficulties breathing & a fever. I continued to call back several times, but the voicemail was full after my first call . I emailed them 3 times as well. In May they started charging customers instead of waiting for them to be able to return. They charged me a pro-rated amount (I reached back out to them the day before they charged me to remind them I had cancelled, they ignored my email). They charged me again in June. I called them back on the phone again. I spoke to someone who said I would be credited. I actually saw the 2 credits on my online credit card statement yesterday. I received a notification from my credit card this morning that someone made a charge to my credit card last night. I look at my credit card statement and their credits are gone and they are charging me for June a 2nd time. So if you want to get covid-19 come here... because they are going to charge customers even if they're sick and can't use the facility which means sick people are going to show up. Also, when you go, don't look up. They don't replace the filters on their vents.... ever. It literally looked like 10 years of dust covering their vents. read more

I have a long standing (many years) pre paid spray tanning membership at iTan and was told when I joined I could use any iTan location. I live in the Carmel Mtn area and although I don't tan every week, I decided it was worth keeping the membership and it is the Carmel Mtn location I most often use. I signed up for the pre paid monthly membership specifically to use the Versa machines. However, the Versa machines are down very often here, and for weeks at a time. So iTan has basically sold me something they can not deliver on. I am always told I can drive to another location (super inconvenient for a 3 min spray, and then HOPE their Versa is not broken also) or do a Mystic tan. The problem with Mystic is I get completely ooompa loompa orange unless I add a boost of some kind of purple additive to counteract the orange. And that boost costs $6 or more every time I have to use the Mystic machine due to the Versa being broken down yet again. It seems to me that if I have pre paid for something iTan can not deliver, then they should 'owe' me a comparable service, which would be the Mystic with the purple boost. I inquired about that today and was told they absolutely will not and do not give out 'free' boosts (which probably cost them 50 cents) but agreed to do it this ONE time. I am in a wedding tomorrow and needed to look tan, not bright orange and am tired of paying $6 every time their machine is broken. The employee told me she put the "complimentary" boost in, but after spraying, I realized 100% she did NOT since you are immediately bronzed and the hair net covering your hair is also dyed bronze when the additive is used, and I had neither. So now I will be ooompa loompa orange for the wedding tomorrow. Thanks, Carmel Mtn iTan. To make matters worse, when I got out of the spray booth I told the worker she obviously did NOT put the purple boost in, and she completely LIED to my face and insisted she did. I have had a membership at iTan for over 10 years and have been doing spray tans since this employee was in kindergarten I would guess, and am further offended by her condescending attitude and thinking I really would not be able to tell the difference if the additive was added or not. Maybe if the employees spent more time assisting customers instead of standing around cattily chatting amoungst themselves customers would not be so pissed. Go elsewhere if you want tanning machines that actually work and employees that actually care about their customers (who are paying their salaries) and don't lie to your face. read more

The Itan on Carmel Mountain is well equipped, and the staff is very nice. But there is a man that I see often, mid to late 50's, that I have seen in there more times than I can count. He is always taking up the young ladies who work there time, and not in a good way, in a lingering, creepy way. The very first time I saw him around 2 years ago, it was closing time, the young lady was in the back mopping, and he was lingering in the front waiting on her, she looked uncomfortable and nervous. I asked him why he was waiting and he wouldn't answer and just stayed. I finally had to leave. There was once, I was there for 40 minutes, then I went next door, ordered food, went to Trader Joe's, came back to pick up food and he was still there trying to talk to the much younger than him ladies. I've watched him keep them from breaking away, when they are trying to clean. Once, I confronted him, because if this was my daughter working there, I would have her quit. He told me he is neighbors with the owner. When I accused him of being a creeper, because he is, he tried to say he was a married trainer trying to help these young ladies. Today there was a lady from the escondido Itan working there, and I watched him move right in on her. They are always nice to him, but it has to bother them that they need to deal with him and that the owner does not tell him to stop. At the very least, if he is there at the front desk for an hour or longer, he is taking away the time they need to clean and help others (he does step aside when customers walk in). I will not ever let my 18 year old apply for a job there, and I'm moving my services to Poway. Ladies, if you see him in there trying to chat up the kids your daughers age, I guarantee it will strike you as creepy. You can't miss him, he looks like a burnt rotisserie chicken out if the 1980's with feathered hair and Run DMC style workout suit. read more

I went in today after getting a free session from the website. They are amidst moving but, this place is amazing. Taylor and Ally have the most amazing customer service I've had from a tanning salon. Taylor spent so much time explaining to me the the pros and cons of each plan, asking me what my goals were and helped me figure out which plan would best fit MY needs. As I've never done bed tanning she explained the steps and what would help me most (I'm vampire pale.) Taylor explained my goal were attainable with time and that I should try my free session and see how I like it. She offered me an AMAZING lotion that I now am in love with and explain toning, timings and products to me. After my session (in a bed) I didn't see much (obviously) but the lotion made me feel so bronzed I loved it. Ally and Taylor's customers service is THE MAIN reason I signed up. read more

I have one complaint - they took away one of the mystic machines and replaced it with a Versa tanning booth, which doesn't work nearly as well. I have always been apprehensive towards tanning places so when coming into iTAN I was a bit nervous. Immediately when I stepped I was welcomed by the kindest staff member who introduced herself to me as Izzy. She was able to really go in depth with me about the different options I had for tanning as well as answer any questions I had. After talking one on one with Izzy she helped me decide on using the tanning bed for my first experience. I was a bit confused with how the lotions and such worked but Izzy was able to show me what some good options were. Fast forward to after my tan... I was HOOKED. I loved my experience and decided to explore some options for membership. At first I was settled on single sessions but Izzy broke down the prices to me extremely well and helped me purchase a membership with iTAN. These ladies mean well and are friendly, but they aren't always so tech savvy with their own computer system, but can get you into a nice booth.
