It's 10 stars and one of those things that's mostly a British way of doing things. This independent place is organic focussed, it's quirky, charming and worth supporting.
Theirs is a one stop organic farm shop over a few floors and they have an organic farm in Devon so 5 green stars for them.
They are also an organic deli with organic cheese, dairy, charcuterie as well as being a fishmonger and a coffee roasterie. Their deli is fabulous.
They sell speciality quality foods that aren't factory made like real sausage rolls, sandwiches, organic coffee, tea and organically made cakes.
It was the organic coffee and cakes that brought us to sit outside, on a hot summer day, near to the de consecrated St Peter's church - it's about 1,100 years old, originally Roman Catholic but stolen by Henry 8 as thousands were for all the wrong reasons. We got organic coffees and Victoria sponge cakes. Being organic the cakes were a deeper colour and more densely textured to their non organic counterparts. Really tasty food and coffee.
We regret we don't live nearby and make it our local. We also got an organic Coca Cola too and enjoyed it all the more because it was.
We sat outside and baked in real heat as we briefly pondered booking Rick Stein's restaurant just across the road. It was a no - brainer.
As I said really worth supporting and I hope to return some day. read more
