When I contacted the front office, I was told they would not provide any information unless I scheduled a tour. As a working single mom with limited availability, it is very difficult to commit to an in-person visit without first knowing basic details such as tuition, program structure, and availability. I have never encountered a policy where absolutely no information could be shared prior to booking a tour. It felt unreasonable to expect parents to invest time away from work without confirming whether the program would even be a good fit financially or logistically. After reading other reviews, I noticed similar comments about the school being very "private." While I understand and appreciate maintaining security and privacy for the children, there should still be transparency and open communication with prospective parents. Feeling informed and included is essential when making decisions about our children's care and education. Unfortunately, the lack of openness made the environment feel unwelcoming rather than inviting. I would have loved the opportunity to explore becoming part of their community, but first impressions matter -- especially when it comes to our children.

Pines West Academy fosters an incredible learning environment based on educational excellence,…read morediscipline and an loving environment. The amazing staff with so much heart and caring mindset allows our daughters strive. After completion of her daycare through pre-k studies at PWA, our oldest daughter just won student of the month award amongst her 1st grade class in her new school. The staff anchored by principal Mrs Terri is really committed to providing a safe, fun, and loving environment and we're very thankful to her and the whole team for all the great job.

From yoga to music class, letter sounds or climbing the rock wall outside, she is engaged and continually learning throughout her day. It's not just me who finds PWA to be an outstanding educationally centered preschool. My friend, an elementary teacher in the area, says that children who attended PWA come into her class ready and prepared for kindergarten. In addition to the exceptional learning environment, PWA goes the extra mile to promote a clean and healthy environment. The school is very clean and all children wash their hands when they arrive at school and throughout the day. My daughter likes the food and I like the meal choices/healthy snacks. All of my daughter's teachers have been warm, organized and responsive. I can see what my daughter is learning using the school's communication app. This is a huge plus for me - her teacher uploads pictures throughout the day, we can chat and share documents digitally. My daughter wakes up and wants us to take her to school (even on the weekends). As a working mom, it's such a blessing to find a preschool that not only teaches my child but also genuinely cares about her. Thank you PWA for all you do.

The school truly nurtures independence, curiosity, and confidence in its students. Over the years we've watched Jack grow not only academically but also personally, developing strong communication skills, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning. One of the most special opportunities recently was his participation in the MMUN (Montessori Model United Nations) conference in New York. Seeing students represent their schools and countries on an international stage at such a young age speaks volumes about the quality of education and encouragement they receive at Montessori Institute of Broward. The leadership at the school is exceptional. Ms. E, the principal, creates a warm, supportive environment where students feel valued and inspired. She truly leads with heart and vision. Jack's Grade 4 teacher, Ms. Kay, has also been outstanding--patient, dedicated, and deeply invested in her students' growth. She challenges them academically while also nurturing their confidence and character. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and inspiring school community. Montessori Institute of Broward has played a huge role in shaping Jack into the curious, confident young person he is becoming. Luke aged 5 is also thriving at MIB and i cant wait to see how he progresses.

As a parent, there's nothing more painful than realizing that the place you trusted to care for and…read morenurture your child actually harmed her. My daughter attended Open Valleys Academy when she was just a toddler, and to this day--now 8 years old--she still talks about the trauma she experienced there. One of the most upsetting incidents involved a teacher named Luz, who was aggressive and rough with the children. My daughter was picked up by the ear--an absolutely unacceptable and abusive act. When I brought this to the attention of the principal, Cristina, she acted as if it was just a "misunderstanding" and brushed it off. There was no accountability, no investigation, no concern. Just excuses. My daughter cried almost every morning before going to that place, and at the time, I didn't understand why. I thought it was normal separation anxiety. I had no idea she was enduring such mistreatment. One day, at only 3 years old, she tried repeatedly to ask the teacher to let her use the restroom. The teacher ignored her, too "busy" to care. My daughter ended up wetting herself. Instead of compassion or understanding, the teacher humiliated her--putting a diaper on her and placing her in the baby room for the rest of the day. That act alone traumatized her. Open Valleys Academy failed my child in the most fundamental way. They did not protect her. They did not care for her. They silenced and ignored her. And the administration, especially Cristina, chose to look the other way rather than confront the cruelty happening under their own roof. No child should have to go through what my daughter went through. No parent should have to live with the guilt of unknowingly sending their child into a harmful environment. Please--if you're considering this school, look deeper. Listen to your child. Trust your gut. I wish I had.

KLA School - Mrs. Vicky

KLA School

Formal Complaint Against KLA Pembroke Pines Address: 18055…read moreNW 8th St, Pembroke Pines, FL 33029 I feel compelled to warn every parent: KLA Pembroke Pines is not a safe or appropriate environment for any child. Sending your son or daughter here is a disservice to them and a betrayal of your duty as a parent. The lead teacher and her assistants demonstrate outright disdain for the children entrusted to their care. I personally observed the lead teacher frequently absorbed in her phone, visibly frustrated, audibly sighing, and openly complaining that she could no longer tolerate the classroom. On one occasion, she even told my child's shadow that the class was "hell" and that she "couldn't take it anymore." Such language is appalling and utterly unprofessional. My son, only three years old, attended this school with a shadow. What she reported was alarming: children left unsupervised, running in circles without direction, crying and being ignored, while staff remained glued to their phones. There was no structure, no leadership, and no genuine care. The most degrading incident occurred when I dropped my son off at 8:30 a.m. I overheard the teacher loudly tell another staff member, "This is the sick boy with problems." My child was publicly labeled and ridiculed by the very person paid to nurture and protect him. I was stunned into silence. When I picked him up later that same day, he reeked of urine. His pants were dry, but his socks and shoes were soaked, and not a single one of the three spare outfits I had provided had been used. This was not an accident--it was negligence. To make matters worse, I found the teacher outside, holding another crying child by the arms like an object, while laughing and chatting with a colleague. This was not only cruel but a clear act of mistreatment. When I attempted to escalate my concerns to the school director, I was met with arrogance, indifference, and blatant disregard. Instead of showing concern or accountability, she dismissed me with a condescending attitude, as if my child's suffering and my legitimate complaints were an inconvenience to her. Her reaction confirmed what I had already witnessed: at this school, children are not valued as human beings -- they are reduced to dollar signs. KLA Pembroke Pines has demonstrated a pattern of neglect, cruelty, and gross unprofessionalism that places children at risk. No child deserves to be humiliated, ignored, mishandled, or treated as a burden. Parents deserve to know the truth before entrusting this institution with their children.
