One of the best foot massages I have ever had. We walked in without an appointment on a Saturday…read moreevening and they immediately accomodated us. They have the big comfy chairs for you to relax in. Unlike some foot massage places in Atlanta, where there is a big room with lots of the comfy chairs, they had smaller rooms with pairs of the chairs (and a massge table in case they need to do body work). I thought this was great so we could enjoy our foot massages without other people around. The husband and I practically melted away after our long day walking. Here they did the traditional foot soak, but while you are soaking your feet, they rub your neck and shoulders. It was bliss and the hot soak felt great on my feet. Then the massage began. The guy that did my massage had the perfect touch: firm without being too much. This place was more pricey than what I've experienced in Atlanta. I felt ok about this since this place is right in Downtown Portland, where I am sure the rent is pretty high. Plus the massage was so awesome I felt like the price was justified.

I would like to preface this by saying I am a very laid back, and easy-going person. I am also 100%…read moreok with cheap massages. Truly, I think they are often some of the best. I took my fiancé here because we were sore from moving. One star goes for the actual massage. The lady massaging me put in effort, and did an ok job. The reason this place is UNACCEPTABLE is it is DIRTY, literally filthy. It is very apparent that the massage table linens are not changed each massage- if ever. The linens had left over lotion, hair, and what appeared to be mucus on the region near my head. The towels that you are supposed to drape over yourself are also laden with lotion from other massages. I wanted to leave immediately but my fiances table was not as bad, and he begged me to stay. I could not enjoy the massage at all and ubered home immediately to get into the shower as soon as possible. DO NOT go here. I could not be paid enough to return. Truly unsanitary and disgusting.

I discovered a decade ago a very firm leg massage (not foot massage) turns me from hobbling in pain to ready to run a mile and is the only thing that works. I hadn't had a massage in a long time and after 6 months the pain was disturbing my sleeping, so I visited Susie for the first time. After her work the result was: 1. an hour later the pain was gone. 2. 3 months later (with no change in routine, the pain was still gone) 3. a year later I did go back as the pain returned a bit, but considering I've gone to other massage therapists and returned a month later or walked away with no change this is a major improvement and I never expected it to be permanent. 4. after the massage I felt like she pulled my body apart and put it back together. While she was doing the leg massage she also covered my neck, head, arms, back, since all the body is connected (hint: avoid a masseuse who just does the legs or feet but nothing else) and discovered a point on my back that was really full of tension. She was right. I hadn't told her about it. She's that insightful. A month later I went back for a follow-up polarity therapy session. I never had one, but was amazed how it was the perfect follow-up to the previous work. Susie knows her stuff. She's brings a holistic approach to the bodywork. I find sports massage too clinical, so Susie is perfect with a great environment. Just one table and its just her. She's also enjoyable to just be around. For those who are modest everything is covered. I can't recommend her enough and then a bit more.

I wanted to relax and deal with some neck pain, and after a lot of research, I landed on SOMA. They were able to fit us in on my birthday proper, and although they didn't have joint rooms for a proper couples massage, I was happy to know he was getting pampered down the hall. They were also accommodating and able to push our appointment a bit when we realized we were running late. Amy was a dream. She integrates holistic bodywork into her practice, and it was just what I needed. She was so intuitive and understood exactly what kind of pressure and strokes I needed, and I left feeling so refreshed and like I was walking on a cloud. Amy was very friendly and warm and we chatted a bit but not too much; just the perfect amount. My partner also really enjoyed his massage and felt looser and more agile. He had one of the male therapists (maybe Dominic - sorry we can't recall!). The spa lobby is quiet and serene and the massage rooms are set up for total relaxation. You can customize things like table temperature and sounds to make it the best for you. Parking is also readily available on the street. Highly recommend! If we were local I'd become a regular.

Dominic allowed me to choose a genre of music to listen to which was such a nice touch. I had never had that experience before. As always, the time went so quickly. No complaints at all. There is some free street parking. The entrance is handicap accessible, as are the rooms and bathroom. I will definitely be coming back!

Cal offers massage and polarity therapy with love and positive intentions. Have not had a polarity session in a few months I was READY!! Much emotional stuff to work through and out of my systems. Has an in-depth intake conversation and then on to the table. The space is perfect for the work, not too big and definitely not small or cramped. Crystals available for use as needed as well as some other tools for the work being done. I was comfortable and often checked in on as we went through the session. I literally could feel him peel away the stress and with deep breathing felt the anxiety leave the building. So much baggage politely taken away to the ethers. An hour and half went by like the blink of an eye yet the weight lifted was palpable. Just let go and let the e work be done, let the energy go, don't hold on to that which no longer serves you! Cal was present giving amazing care throughout the session. I highly recommend Cal and am so looking forward to my already booked sessions. Looking to really relax and let things go?
