I ordered (and ate) 4x cheeses:
1. Farmhouse Brie - This cheese is a very good French cheese. Having a bi-weekly high street cheesemonger from France in London years ago, it is every bit as good as what he was selling. The cheese is presented firm, but it can be microwaved or warmed on a double-boiler briefly to get softer to bring out the taste and scent, and the taste is very good. A very good cheese. [Purchased full wheel]
2. Laurel (Softer Brie) - This cheese is also a very good French cheese. The cheese is presented partially soft, as advertised, and the taste is superb. I will definitely order this again. [Purchased full wheel]
3. Sage Derby - This is a good cheese. The interesting mix of old (sage) and new (fresh cow cheese) is refreshing, and works well. These guys remind me of Whittakers chocolate in that they have a good regime of tasting, as well as good, tested mixes. The herb flavour might not be for everyone, but I would definitely buy it again. [Purchased full wheel]
4. Mt. Cargill Tudor - This was probably the family favorite, and much of it was stolen by my partner. It is a fresh cheese, piquant--it has this sense of fresh milk--but also a tangy scent and finish, with a bit of salt. It is more crumbly than creamy (the Sage Derby is more creamy). It is also tasty and very well done. [Purchased full wheel]
I am very impressed with these cheeses. Be sure to order the cold packs for shipping. read more
