Based on a Grubhub delivery. Went with the ribs dinner. Got a half slab of ribs, fries, coleslaw and garlic bread. The ribs were good. They came with a KC style sauce on them. Enough sauce that I didn't use the extra provided. They fell off the bone like properly cooked ribs should do. The coleslaw rocks! It's a small portion of a simple cabbage and sweet cream sauce but it was so good. I'm glad I bought the second side of it. The garlic bread was very good. Did some dipping of that in my extra bbq sauce. The fries were well seasoned and done good, too. Evan's was our first order using GrubHub+ and it went well. I ordered the Greek chicken and it was very good. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Best Greek chicken I've had in a long time. Fries were plentiful and crispy. Coleslaw was good but way too much mayo. She loved her chicken souvlaki plate. I was hoping for a taste but it disappeared before I could get a bite. She didn't really care for the baklava cheesecake but I really enjoyed it. Nice combination of two great deserts, especially when you bite into the flaky phyllo dough. Prices aren't bad. I can't speak for the atmosphere or staff, but I will be checking them out in the future. Thumbs up for the GrubHub driver though. We tried Evan's again and she stuck with the chicken souvlaki. Food is authentic and incredible. The ribs come with their homemade sauce, the roasted chicken is insane and the gyros aren't too garlicky so they are perfect - everything is cooked perfectly and always consistent. The owners are a husband and wife, he cooks and she runs the front. The wife also makes homemade baklava that is the best I've ever had. The taziki is also out of this world! Absolutely garbage food and garbage customer service. I never write reviews but this place has officially gone downhill. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. It was like they boiled the chicken and that's it. They put salt and pepper as the only seasoning and since the mayo was so thin and water like my bun was completely soggy. -10/10 experience I hope they never sell food again. Wasted my money. I don't think this place even wants your business. Stopped in on a Saturday, with my friend for lunch. Lady behind the counter asked what we wanted (literally) and took our order. We both got chicken Philly sandwiches. I got onion rings, he got fries. She asked if we were taking it to go, we responded with that we'd fine in. She rolled her eyes. She then told us our food would be ready later. We sit down. She called us to come to the counter to get our lunch. The bread is barely grilled, vegetables on the sandwich are cold, cheese on the sandwich never melts and my onion rings tasted odd, like maybe they had freezer burn? Then all of a sudden, a slow stream of dinner crowd stopped by. A couple stopped in inquiring about catering, they resolved in ordering souvlaki plates. Reviews suggest the souvlaki is stellar, I kept thinking that should have been my meal as well. Instead, I went with a cheeseburger. Not bad, just about your typical out-of-a-box variety, most likely previously frozen. Salt, pepper, shredded lettuce, tomato slice halves, a thick slice of cheese and diced onions. It's served plain so that you can dress it up with ketchup & mustard to your liking. Also got a side order of fries. Theirs has this coating of krispity, crunchity, bits all over. Some would be familiar with this type, I think it's also served at FF's like Arby's and Carl's Jr. Decided to combo it with a drink and the total was a little over $10 dollars. Nice cozy self standing building on Touhy Ave with a parking lot. Upon walking in I noticed their BBQ menu however I was more in the mood for something along the lines of Greek chicken. Evan's Specialites side of the menu has a delicious and inexpensive Chicken Breast plate for $7.45. Your choice of Rice Pilaf, Fries or Greek Potato & Pita with cucumber sauce on the side plus a little lettuce, tomato and onion. My plate was good, like GOOD!!!! Seasoned juices and plenty filling. To start off this place is overpriced, they only offer one size for the onion rings and it was 7$, and then for them to taste stale and cold is upsetting. Unfortunately for him, his worst enemy is standing ten feet from him taking orders and being as unfriendly as possible. The food is average and I used to hate those fries. I asked for a cheeseburger with lettuce, mayo and bacon; an order of garlic bread, cheese sticks and fries. I got a lot of fries...the good fries, the crispy shelled fries that crunch, not munch when you bite down. The burger was soggy from grease. It had a great bun, just too thin and a too greasy burger. Cheesesticks are the same that you would find at any high school cafeteria. The garlic bread was all right. Credit card purchases have a minimum of 10 bucks. This place is frequented with police officers and is quite bare at lunch time. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, which came on a pita... a split breast on a pita cut in half, with lettuce and mayo (tomatoes too, but I say no to those slimey little things). Nearby Gyros place! Great food, fair service, and only slightly high prices. The food is what you come here for. This visit, ordered an Evans Salad and Gyro's Plate, with a side of Onion Rings. The food was prepared fresh, and was hot. The Gyros Plate also comes with fries, which makes it a decent value. The salad was good and fresh as well. The onion rings a little over done, but still a great flavor and tasty batter. Drinks can be a little pricey, but if you get the meal for carry out, as we did, it was decent. I haven't seen much in the way of discounts, so it's a full retail venture to eat here, but the food is good and this is one of the best Gyro places in the area. read more

I went here for lunch. I had the cheeseburger special. The burger was OK. It was a little thin and greasy. The bun was good, I think it was toasted then buttered. For being out of season the tomatoes were pretty good. I didn't like the fries. They are the crispy coated type which I haven't never been fond of. One thing I will say is the price is fair. I had a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for a little over $5. The people were very nice and friendly. Also, the place was clean. I may try something else if I'm ever in the area again. read more

Not a super place sure to become a frequent fave, but not bad either. We were in the area for lunch and decided to stop in. Inside, Evans has plenty of space for seating and a long order counter. It's a Greek-run establishment with a number of Greek food items on the menu, besides the usual gyros. I went for an Italian beef and my wife had a Polish sausage. The kids had a grilled cheese and a hot dog. We split a generous portion of fries. Fries here are a love it / hate it scenario. They are coated, which gives them a different flavor than usual. We all liked it and enjoyed the fries. My Italian beef was seasoned a little less than I'm used to. I'm not a peppers kind of guy, so without added stuff on the beef, it wasn't as flavorful as other places I've had beef. The grilled cheese was huge, enough for 2 kids. As a special treat at the end, we got soft serve ice cream cones. The ice cream was delicious and quite rich too. I can attest to that since my type 1 diabetic son had a sugar spike 3 hours later. This doesn't happen with most ice cream places we visit so you know it's got to be good. I'd go back to Evans, but I'd rather visit Papa Chris' in Niles or Paradise Pup not too far away. Evans doesn't really distinguish itself well from some of our favorite places in the area. read more

I went here to get a hot dog and fries. The people at the counter were very polite, despite a very rude customer that was upset that he also had to order fries in addition to his burger... I got 2 char dogs, chicago style. They were charred well, and the buns were fresh. I'm pretty sure they were all beef hot dogs. The fries were just OK, they are frozen, I believe. I won't order fries here again. The price was a little high, more than eight bucks for two dogs and fries, that's a special some places, for $5. I want to try some other things there, like the spinach pie. While I was there, 3 people ordered spinach pie, so it's probably pretty good. Recommended. An independent, no frills, italian beef/gyro joint near our house. Prices are low, so you can afford to eat here. They give you a good amount of food for your money. We had the cheesy beef (italian) sandwiches with both hot and sweet peppers. I had mine "dunked" in the beef broth - resulting in a giant sogginess that had to be eaten with both hands (as the provided fork would have torn through the foil wrapper). A hard plastic plate would be ideal for the soaked sandwiches. You wont get enough napkins to clean your hands - but we didnt care. Tore through the meal and washed the broth and beef off our hands. Delicious! We'll be back. Probably more than once. read more
