We try to be very careful to minimize risk. I guess we assumed that the folks at the Himalaya Salt Cave would follow along with the compliance of their fellow British Columbians, especially as this is a health/wellness type establishment. Instead, we were surprised to see no mask wearing by either massage therapist upon entering. I inquired whether they were vaccinated and the answer was no. They explained that "salt is anti-viral" and that they are always very careful. We kept our masks on and proceeded to the massage tables. Once we were undressed and ready to go, they asked if we'd prefer they wear masks. The answer was yes-- these are people who were getting in close to us, salt or no salt. The massages were good, but honestly we should have been told up front of their unvaccinated status and they should have followed our lead in mask-wearing. And "salt kills the virus?" Really?!?!
