I prepaid through Expedia for a rental car with Sixt at Düsseldorf Airport. My flight was delayed by 2 hours, but Expedia confirmed with Sixt that a late-arrival note was added to my booking.
When I arrived at the counter, the agent acknowledged my reservation but refused to honor it unless I paid nearly €500 more because they were out of cars. I declined. Instead of resolving the issue, they marked me as a "no-show" and won't issue a refund, even though I was standing at the counter with proof of my confirmed booking. I was left without a car and had to make a new reservation for a later date at additional cost.
This is not customer service, it's a scam.
