HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I rented a car from Sixt at this location nine months ago. At the drop off…read morelocation, there was no attendant, office or otherwise anyone to check the condition of the car or issue a receipt. After waiting for quite awhile for someone to show up I gave up and left. Now Sixt is attempting to charge me $850 dollars for damages it claims I caused. Be very cautious about renting from this company and location. It is suspect.

Vorsicht vor versteckten Kosten und intransparenter Abwicklung…read more Ich bin wirklich schockiert über die Art und Weise, wie meine letzte Buchung über Europcar (bzw. Keddy) abgewickelt wurde. Gebucht hatte ich im März ein Mittelklassefahrzeug (Ford Focus oder ähnlich) über Keddy für einen Preis von 137,82€ für 9 Tage. Bei Ankunft am Flughafen wurde mir ein völlig anderes Fahrzeug angeboten (MG SZ) - und als "Alternative" ein BMW 1er für xx€ Aufpreis pro Tag (zzgl. MwSt!). Zusätzlich wurde mir eine Versicherung "angeboten", die 23,35€ pro Tag kostet - auch zzgl. MwSt. Dass auf diese Preise nochmal 21% Mehrwertsteuer draufkommen, wurde mit keinem Wort erwähnt. In der Hektik am Schalter wurde ich also in eine viel teurere Variante gedrängt. Am Ende habe ich vor Ort über xxx€ freigegeben - ohne wirklich zu verstehen, wie sich dieser Preis zusammensetzt. Von der ursprünglich gezahlten Summe an Keddy (137,82€) war in der Abrechnung keine Spur, ebenso wenig wurde ich transparent über die sogenannte "Standortzulage" von 87,14€ informiert, die einfach auf der Rechnung auftauchte. Nach Rückgabe des Autos (vollgetankt, pünktlich) habe ich eine Abrechnung über xxx€ erhalten. Die ursprünglich gezahlten 137,82€ wurden nicht verrechnet, weil - Zitat Europcar - das "nicht ihr Problem" sei, sondern ich mich an Keddy wenden solle. Ernsthaft? Und die Krönung: Man teilt mir mit, dass die 100€ Tankkaution nicht erstattet werden müssen, weil sie angeblich "nie abgebucht" wurden - was sich für mich komplett intransparent anfühlt. Fazit: Diese Erfahrung war extrem enttäuschend. Ich fühle mich abgezockt und allein gelassen. Keine Kulanz, kein echtes Entgegenkommen - stattdessen wird auf AGBs und Drittanbieter verwiesen. Für mich ist klar: Nie wieder Europcar.

We were scheduled to pick up our rental car at the Sixt location at the train station. When we got there, a sign at the empty counter redirected us to the Sixt location in the Hilton. When we arrived, Slavova was helping a non-German speaking, European customer. She happily offered him a coffee voucher while he waited for the car to be driven to the front of the office. We were her next customers. Her smile disappeared and she tried to upsell us on renting a more expensive car, to which we politely declined. She then literally does a hair-flip like she can't believe we rejected the insurance upsell. Our credit card provided all the coverage we needed. She kept pushing that our card did not offer full coverage --- we researched beforehand and were confident in our decision. Her attitude was unnecessary. Unlike with the other customer, she told us we had to go find our way downstairs to the garage to get the car ourselves. There was no offer to have the car driven up...let alone a coffee voucher. At this point, I'm peeved and ask her why we can't wait upstairs like the other customers. She re-tossed her hair and said it'll take 20 mins...no thank-yous, no vouchers, just racial profiling and a whole lot of attitude. We decide to get the car ourselves since I couldn't stand waiting in the same space as this discriminatory person. We found our way to the garage. Guess what? There was not a single customer there picking up their car in the garage besides ourselves. The entire interaction with the service rep at this location was unprofessional, rude, and discriminatory. Slavova left a bad memory of this Sixt location and Cologne for us. I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Left the car after closing hours, leaving the key in the box. I trusted them because I dont know, I had such a great experience with Germans during my stay there. Very nice and very responsible people. Not at Hertz thought. We went sightseeing for a day, nothing remarkable happened. The car got a little dusty, that is all. It was my last day in Germany. When I am back home... surprise! 600 euros charged for "damage." No picture attached. Did I mention that I had payed 60 euros for insurance? well, that is no good because ¡surprise! the insurance only reduces the liability amount to a maximum of EUR 1150.0 per incident. So charging 600 euros its fine. After a complain they did sent picture, you cannot see anything clearly, horrible pictures in black and white! seriously. I could not even see the plaque of the car. And the pictures from before the rental? very nice pictures, except that there is no picture of the corner they claim was damaged. There is another horrible review here that claims the report for previous damage of the car was incomplete and the guy had to spend an hour taking pictures and reporting previous damage. Well, I was the idiot who trusted and did not do that. So they just charged me, with no clear proof, and even though I had insurance. They had refused to revisit my case twice so now I feel the responsibility to warn you. DO NO TRUST THIS COMPANY plus, they overcharge me the gas because I did not returned the car with gas. the reason I did not? When we arrived to the gas-station we could not open the lid. two people try to help me... and nothing. The lid was impossible. We watch youtube videos reviewing the car, showing us how to put gas on the FIAT. and nothing. we could not do it. At that point I though I was the problem but now I am convinced is part of the plot to over charge clients. Please skip this and go to Sixt. I rented with them before in this trip and had zero issues with them. With Herzt I ended up paying 700 euros for 10 hours of using the car, that is twice the minimum wage in my country!
