I loved the idea of spargel on top with melted cheese, although the spears were a bit overcooked. Great side of frites, more in the style of Dutch fries than the thinner ones more common in Germany. The trout was also cooked nicely. A bit of a coating on the skin was okay but it tasted better without it. The steamed taters were well cooked, i.e. not mushy, just right. Oops, forgot to mention the feldsalat to start. Mmmmm Great atmosphere, very nice service.

Everything was lovely. I had a venison ragout with spaetzle (because I had to give in and have some carbs) and apple sauce with a lingonberry-esque berry garnish. My friends took the sauerbraten and viewer schnitzel, which both were very nice as well (and as usual, it seems). Conveniently, they are open all day Sunday, which is a plus in this region.
