Called around and spoke to lots of friends about quality ink and many of them were unhappy with their tattoo shops. I decided to take a chance on Euro Tattoo because the outside of their building wa well kept, solid brick and looked like they must have a lot of business to keep a shop that large. I got there about 15 minutes before they opened and one of the artists opened the door and told me to come in and get comfortable. The woman I spoke to on the phone was not there so the man who let me in introduced himself. His name was Sebastian. He asked me a few questions about what I was looking for and I showed him the picture of the image. I've had a few screwed up tats one that ended up a major cover up, so I asked him if he was confident enough to do it. He assured me he could....And he did! It's been awhile since my last tattoo so I was used to the loud guns, rubber bands and some pretty large tips. But they were equipped with the newest guns, almost totally silent, and micro tips to do finer lines than I have ever seen before. Set up and artwork took just under 2 hours total! Fastest tattoo I ever had too! I would highly recommend Euro Tattoo for cleanliness, almost pain free imaging, fair price, and friendly service. Since it was my first time there I haven't experienced other artists, but I would definitely recommend sebastian to do your work. And if it's early, maybe bring him a cup of Joe! Was not impressed with the sanitation. They followed all the rules but by artist area was right next to waiting area. There were at least 6 people within like 3 feet of me. It's been a week and I think it's infected. read more

I need to update this review. Since my first review I've had 6 more piercings and another tattoo done on myself. My wife had two tats and multiple piercings. Even my 10 year old son who wanted his ears pierced had them done here. We had not one problem. They gave us good care instructions and told us what we needed to do to make sure we had the best results. On our latest tattoos we went in and told them what we wanted. They looked at the designs we found and made some custom creations that look better than what we could have hoped. (see Pics) I highly recommend Euro for all of your tattoo needs. read more

Well, I can't comment on the quality of the tattoos these days because I can't seem to get a tattoo at Euro, or even speak to an artist capable of a "detailed tattoo". I have a number of tattoos from Euro and Euro 2 over the years but not since they've been at this location. I walked in on a Wednesday night with my design printed out. The artist asked "what are you getting?" so I showed her the design. She informed me that it was a very detailed design and I needed to speak with a specific artist. She then told me that this artist's hours are very odd, but they are in the shop on the weekends. I come back that Saturday during the hours she said he would be there. I let them know who I'm here to see and I'm sitting there for a half hour, nothing. Someone let's me know that the artist went to lunch and should be back soon. Another 20 minutes, nothing. Someone calls the artist, they haven't gotten food yet. I leave my name and number, no one called. I call Euro a couple times throughout the week and finally get this specific artist on the phone. We schedule an appointment for about 2 1/2 weeks out on a Saturday. The weather was kinda crappy, snow and whatnot. So I show up and I'm waiting maybe 10 minutes, someone comes out and asks what I'm there for and I notified them I had an appointment with this specific artist. I'm then informed that he went home due to the weather. I left my name and number again, no call. It's taken me 5-6 weeks to get to this point. I'm like 15 minutes from the shop, can you imagine if I drove in the bad weather from Belvidere or Freeport only to find out the artist went home, didn't bother to call. Now, still no call. It seems to me that if you want a classic "Mom" tattoo, you can probably get a pretty decent one at Euro, but if you want something that's not a stereotype, best of luck. Euro should try to get some more actual artists. Now, I get to start this whole process over again; one that's likely 3-4 months worth of sessions, pretty frustrated that I wasted 5 weeks trying to give Euro my money and didn't receive common decency or respect from them. read more

I decided to get my very first tatoo. I am not young and feel I was taken advantage of. I went here to get a very simple tatoo. Just a name. No color. Just a name. I was charged $150.00. I know many people that have many tattoos and EVERYONE has said I got ripped off. It took 15 minutes all said and done. I do not recommend and will never go back read more

Well I walked into the shop after calling and wanting to speak with someone about getting a tattoo and also help with some ideas on finishing another tattoo. what a weird vibe here. I waited patiently while someone else was getting quoted for a tattoo. I was literally never acknowledged. Two girls walk in and are immediately helped. Still no acknowledgement. Another girl comes out from the back and asks the man who had already been helped if he had been helped. He says yes and she doesnt acknowledge me either! I'm like uh I haven't been helped? And she just looks at me so awkwardly like she has no idea what I could possibly be there for. A burger and fries maybe? No, either a tattoo or piercing! Duh! Tf. Mean while the big buff guy is just sitting there at the desk doing literally nothing-no acknowledgement there either. When I finally speak with him he is awkward as well and nonchalant and doesn't seem to give a shit about anything I am saying almost as if he wishes I weren't there at all. If someone is choosing your tattoo shop to get a permanent tattoo on their body you should at least have basic manners . Definitely won't be getting my money, not that they cared anyway. read more

I've been to a couple of different tattoo businesses in Rockford, not sure how I missed this place! Extremely professional and clean environment plus a knowledgeable and friendly staff. Amazing experience! I highly recommend Jake for piercings, he helped fix piercings I received from another shop in town that just wouldn't heal. Such a passion for what he does. I went back to him later to get my nose pierced. Mike did 2 cover up tats for me. Another cool guy!! He was very professional over the phone and his customer service was excellent in the shop as well. He didn't even get annoyed at my whining with that painful inner ankle tat :) that meant a lot, cause I'm NOT a whiner!! This is the only place I will go in Rockford! I have 7 piercings and all of them have been done at Euro with no issues. I was given the proper care instructions and followed them, and each piercing has healed perfectly! I also had my most recent tattoo done here, it was a custom design that was very special to me, and it turned out wonderfully! One of the colors faded and when I mentioned my artist was more than happy to correct it at no charge! I love this studio! read more

HORRIBLE! Now, I can't speak for all of the artist - I went to Mike. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is crap. You have a meat head standing around looking at you like "Why are you here" and then some other slack who has the same demeanor. After they hear my idea, they pass me over to the guy sitting playing on his ipad. He is nice enough - but what he mapped out on his ipad (draw) and what ended up on my arm....two very different things. HORRIBLE. His technique horrible. He pulled my skin too tight (ink "bleeding") and went to deep (a lot of bleeding = scabbing = loss of ink). So sad, this was for my mom who had passed. Please, think twice before you go. Went in with 3 others who wanted spontaneous tattoos at last min at 12am , probably a bad idea but I have outrageous friends , anyhow Kara took us in although she had just finished 3 others and did such an amazing job! I saw her pull out all her tools and they were all packaged and clean and new plus .. It was my first tattoo and I was naturally nervous and she calmed me down and definitely made me feel comfortable . First time here!!! Got my nosed pierced here the guy was super quick with it professional and it honestly didn't hurt at all. I have had over 6 piercings and this has been the quickest one. The wife and I got a tattoo by Joy! She was super attentive and didn't rush us at all. She drew up numerous designs to make sure we loved what we were getting. Makes you feel very comfortable. This is was 6th tattoo and she's honestly the best artist I have had thus far. I felt really comfortable and I will 100% go back for my next tattoo/ piercing. The whole atmosphere is super inviting. They use cheap metal when doing their piercings and I don't believe in needles are sterilized properly. the very next day my piercing was infected you should never ever get a piercing or tattoo from this place! Their tattoos lines are shaky and wavy X( and employees in general are rude as hell in the picture I shared you will clearly see a second hole I didn't notice it first throughout three days I notice that's strange how is it going did I cleaned it like I'm supposed to apparently unknown to my attention he missed. I've been to Euro tattoo numerous amount of times for a couple different things. My ears and my tongue were pierced here and they did a great job, very clean working environment and down to earth staff. Mike tattooed me and he did a very good job I recommend him. I also recommend BIG JON, he did my tribal half sleeve and 2 of my other tattoos which I love. I went in with my friend the other day to get a piercing and it wasn't very clean, that made me nervous. The guy was training someone I guess, but he was acting like he was disgusted by having to deal with us and wasn't very nice. They both strongly smelled like cigarettes, it was awful. The piercing was okay but the whole process was unpleasant and I made sure to go right home and re-clean the piercing. I would look for another place next time. read more

i would never recommend getting a piercing done here. not only do they not use a clamp but when i got my belly button pierced they had me lean against a chair which wasn't comfortable and they aren't gentle which bothers me a lot. the jewelry wasn't in a case so anyone could have touched it and it seemed as though he used the same needle with out sanitizing it for my second piercing. i did not have a good experience here and refuse to get anything else done here. if your looking for a good place to go i would recommend rock city or tattoo bobs. read more

Worst experience that I have ever had with an artist. I went in to talk to them about doing a tattoo a week in advance and he was beyond rude to me and just had me write down what I wanted, my name, and phone number. I talked to him slightly about the tattoo and he told me it was going to be about $400 and that I had to make a $20 deposit that would go towards the price of the tattoo. I had no problem with this, but he never asked for a time, never sent me a picture of the drawing (he had told me he would do so), and just seemed eager to get me out of the shop. I'm out $20 but I got it done for only $160 at another shop. I'll never try this place again. read more

On Friday I got my belly button pierced. Never been there before so I figured I would try it out as I'm walking up there were two guys sitting outside smoking not attractive. Anyways I walked up telling the guy I want my belly pierced so they told me to pick a ring out of the display which omg unsanitary. Anyways I walk over to get ready he just has me sign a waver an really didn't look like he really cared. Anyways he didn't even wash his hands before piercing me which really got me but I still went along and did it so I got it done and he didn't even tell me what I needed to do to take care of it thank heavens I did and he told me to use dial soap! Wrong move buddy that irritates the skin so I did research and I used saline solution to help. Salt & sea salt is the best for to heal piercing & infections. I hate complaining but come on now. Please be careful other than that it wasn't what I thought it would be. read more

I went in for a nose piercing and i have to say i am very upset. For weeks leading up to my peircing i did alot of research on how it would go, how the aftercare would be, and all that jazz. The experience was not even close. I understand some people may do things differently but since when is it okay to not mark where youre going to pierce my nose? I didnt want it where it is and now im taking it out and letting it heal so i can get it redone. And he told me to clean it with dial soap. Im sorry what? Is that what piercers tell peope? Last i checked thats not okay. My sister told me when she goes in for tattoos hes the guy that takes the money but doesnt do anything. Sketchy. I sure hope i dont have to pay to get it redone because it deffinately was not my fault he didnt mark it. It happened so fast i didnt even have a chance to say "wait this is where i wanted it at" now i have to go through this huge process for one guys mess up. He also was very rude and i am not happy with my experience at all. I hope the shop sees this and can talk to their piercers to inform them it takes 2 seconds to put a dot on someones face and show them.
