Our children were there for 1st grade and it was great. Then during the beginning of 2nd grade we started seeing issues due to hand strength issues and what became the early stages of ADHD. The MM staff refused provide any additional assistance and failed to provide any accommodations as they don't recognize ADHD. We were also dealing with extremely difficult communication issues with the school as we spoke directly to the Director of the school but the lead Teacher was dealing with majority of the daily issues. At this point we returned to public school and received appropriate accommodations and services. Once they returned to public school we were also greeted with the fact that both of our children were reading below grade level. The mixed classroom setting at MM does for social skills but it creates a gap with certain subjects such as reading. It's not a bad school but if your child has any additional needs above what the average student gets you may not receive it.

My children attended Moreau Montessori for two years, K and 1st grade for one and toddler - Pre-K…read morefor the other (2020 - 2022). Both of my children thrived in the environment. Moreau provides the right balance of structure and freedom to really support the children and allows them to guide learning at their own unique pace. Both children have obtained the needed critical and free thinking skills and strong foundations in reading, phonics and math due to the teaching at Moreau Montessori. When there were concerns the staff were always there to listen and address the concerns head on. I highly recommend Morea Montessori.

I won't even attempt to humor you into believing I'm not biased. I bought two T-shirts, one hoodie,…read morea long-sleeved shirt, a jacket and a pair of joggers last week because I went on an "I miss my alma mater" moment. Blame it on wondering if "All American Homecoming" would be renewed. Blame it on the non-fight scenes in "College Hill Celebrity Edition." Or, it could be just that I love my alma mater. I still have a sweatshirt and several T-shirts (and once upon a time an umbrella that I have long ago lost), so I'm a walking talking commercial for this university at least a few times each month. And if you get me on the topic of the (now-retired) librarian Ms. Elizabeth Wilson, I could write a book on how supportive she is/was of graduates! But THIS particular review (because you would never get me to go lower than 5 stars on the school itself, especially around homecoming season and working with some PHENOMENAL teachers) is about the bookstore purchase. I am wary of websites that sell HBCU paraphernalia, but I don't see any wording on there about whether the universities actually get any of the money. I wanted some new college stuff and bought it directly from their site. I was delighted to find out that not only do they have great deals and a reasonable variety, but I blinked and it was shipped. Everything looked neat, packaged well and the tiger emblem on the joggers is AMAZING. The only criticism I could come up with is I didn't like that gawdy, glittery "Lincoln" on the other leg of the joggers. Less than 24 hours later, I'm taking photos and texting my gawdy "Lincoln" leg to everybody so that grudge didn't last long. I was a little confused about sizes though. I once bought a pair of men's jogging pants thinking they'd last longer than women's (and I live in another state). But I look like Kris Kross in the '90s whenever I put these things on. Without a drawstring, they'd be on my ankles (and yes, I still wear them around the house). This time around though, the shirts and hoodies and jackets run a little small. If you usually wear a large, consider an XL. If you're an XL, consider an XXL. Same goes for small and medium. Still, I'm not returning a thing. I still have T-shirts from this bookstore that I bought during homecoming week over a decade ago, so the clothes are good quality.

I love all the hands on training this school has. I am in the utilities technology program (2024…read moregraduate) and I love being able to actually be doing all the same things that I would be doing out on a real job site. Instructors are great as well.
