Etrim village is definitely a time warp to the past. The preserved village really shows the true culture and history of Turkey.
Amassed among thousands of olive trees, but also well known for their intricate handmade carpets and tapestry.
Got to spend the day going around to different parts of the village. A cafe to drink tea with locals, a Mosque to meet an Imam, a textile co-op where I got to see the art of the loom. Crazy to think they still do everything so manually, but it really makes buying from them well worth it. You know where it's coming from, how it's being made and supporting the local people.
Seriously some of the friendliest people you'll meet and all smiling ear to ear.
Not too far from Bodrum, so if you happen to be there... make the trip out! Not sure where else you'd be able to experience something like it! read more
