She adjusted me in ways I've never been adjusted before. It was the most thorough adjustment I've ever had. She even adjusted my cranial sutures. Awesome! She uses muscle testing and your meridians to let her know what's going on where and what needs to be adjusted. It was an amazing experience and an extremely valuable one. During my second appointment with her she really helped clarify some "untruths" I've been told about a supposed health issue that I thought I had but, it turns out it's not an issue at all. The therapist's response shocked me. Let me quote: "I will try my best, but it's been a full day of massages, and if you want it deep, you better come in the morning." As you can guess, I didn't get what I asked for. On top of that, the therapist wore gloves throughout the massage. It was the first time in my life someone wore gloves while giving a massage. The sensation of plastic touching my skin the entire time was awful -- for me, it felt like torture. To be fair, my husband had a massage at the same place with a different therapist and he liked it -- and she didn't wear gloves. I definitely won't be coming back and would never recommend this place. There is so much competition in Estes Park with many massage options, so I'm truly shocked that anyone could provide such poor customer service and low-quality treatment. She "didn't think they could help me." When I was physically there, everyone, including me, was cordial. The employees were helpful. In no way did I expect that I'd be refused service now. All I can point to is that I wrote a 4-star instead of a 5-star review here on Yelp. I will have to report back to my longtime chiropractor that he might want to reconsider sending people there. He might agree, or he might not. That will be up to him. It's too bad this owner doesn't allow for less-than-perfect experiences. He helps you from where you are, it's not a cookie cutter approach. Second, he doesn't push supplements. That's a big one for me. It's not that I don't agree with kinesiology because I do. But when I'm going for an adjustment, I want that. I don't want to add hundreds of dollars for supplements that might not interact with others I already take. Third, he's real. He knows what he's doing and adjusts when there's new information. Fourth, he has tools-laser, decompression, etc. There's another doctor there who also seems good. I know someone who sees him. Kim was so kind and worked me into their schedule on short notice (don't recommend but highly appreciated). His technique was effective, yet gentle enough to also relax. The rooms were very clean and organized, following strict COVID safety protocols for their studios but they do not require you to wear a mask (the therapist does). Exceeded all my expectations! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a massage! Pro tips: book as early as possible. Arrive clean and showered for the massage. I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early, and did. When I got there I found the door was unlocked, and could hear voices from a session somewhere in the back, but no one else was there... The ownership should take note that left all the valuable inventory, merchandise, essential oils, and therapeutic medications in the lobby unattended and entirely unsecured. Someone could literally have walked off with hundreds, even thousands of dollars worth of merch. The woman who eventually arrived - after I'd been standing around for over 10 minutes, was sweet and very helpful, but explicitly said she was new when I asked why I'd been asked to come early. The water in the foot spa was barely warm and did not appear to be fresh despite the fact that I was the first appointment of the day. Given that it was not very large, I expected the water to be new. Additionally, there was a second chair pulled up to it, as if clients may be expected to share the same footbath at the same time. Gross. The IR Sauna wasn't preheated. I reserved an hour - by the time the unit heated up to 150, the session was ending. I really wanted to like to Stillwater, but I won't check in there again.
