Had the most amazing massage with Sarah and my daughter had a fantastic facial (can't remember her name) cleared up some congestion on the face and skin was glowing afterwards. Very close to the Sheraton (walking distance). Clean and professional. Will definitely visit again when we come back next year! Reasonable rates. Highly recommend. read more

This past Friday, I had booked a 90 minute massage for my wife, and once again she said it was still the best spa experience she has ever had. Earlier this year, we were at Disney's Saratoga Springs, and I booked her a package there, and she said she enjoyed Essence better. read more

I have had multiple massages on cruise ships and at 5 star resorts and none have compared to the deep tissue massage I just received from Ashley at Essence Day Spa in Myrtle Beach. Ashley was very attentive to some back issues I've been having and was extremely well versed in muscle management. As the new owner and propietor of Essence Day Spa, I know she'll be successful. I hope people reading this will give them a try. Rich read more

I was able to sneak in a last minute appointment at this spa while on a short vacation to Myrtle Beach. This was by far one of the best massages I have ever received! I have been a member of Massage Envy for years in both Chicagoland and Minnesota for years. Josh was very knowledgeable in both of the practices of Swedish massage and breathing techniques. I walked in achy and stressed, and left feeling extremely relaxed and enjoyed the rest of my vacation a little more. Thank you! read more

Awesome massage by Josh!!! Great way to kick off a relaxing week long vacation. If your visiting Myrtle Beach I highly recommend putting a visit to Essence Day Spa on the must do list!!! read more

Essence Day Spa provides excellent massages. Ashley listens to what you want and need and tailors each massage to meet your request. She makes each visit unique. No matter if I need relaxation or therapeutic relief, each massage delivers exactly what I need. The Spa is clean and safe. I highly recommend Essence Day Spa. read more

My husband and I went for a couples massage while on vacation in Myrtle Beach and we were beyond happy with our experience. This was our first full body massage and were definitely hooked now. My husband said that Ashley was wonderful and used the perfect amount of pressure to his problem areas. Ryan was my masseuse and he was awesome. So attentive and relaxing. He paired close attention to my area causing me the most grief and I walked out feeling brand new. The facility was zen and relaxing from the moment you walk in. When we visit myrtle beach in the future we'll be visiting them both again. If you're a local looking for a permanent place, you've found it! Thanks Ashley and Ryan! read more

Very very impressed. Did the 90 minute massage and it was obvious that they knew exactly what they were doing. Expertise and knowledge was on point! read more

As a establishment it shouldn't be on the customer to have to request a male or female massage therapist preference. Other establishments have no problem asking. It's not a big cost to simply ask the client they're preference when making an appointment. If this establishment is not willing to take the measure to make sure all of their clients are comfortable and satisfied then I definitely would not recommend or return. read more

My boyfriend, who is a professional bodybuilder, got a massage from Ryan for 90 minutes. He said that it was the best massage he's ever had and believe me when I say that my boyfriend gets a lot of work done. I purchased the massage off of Groupon because he kept complaining that there were no good masseuse in Myrtle Beach and he's tried over a dozen. I didn't want to pay over $60 for someone who was just gonna rub his back. So I took a chance and now we finally found our spa, and my boyfriend found his body healer. read more

Ashley is an amazing therapist as well as a genuine person. I try and book with her at least twice a month.

Wonderful experience overall! Booked a double massage with my mother and when we walked in she was nervous about getting two male massage therapist. After expressing her nervousness, they let her customize her massage where she would lay on her belly the whole time and only massage her back and feet. When the massage was done, she was so impressed she wished she let him do the full body massage. I received my massage from Ryan and he was also AMAZING. I told him about my neck and shoulder pains from carrying my 1yr old around. He knew exactly what to do to. By the end of the massage, I was thoroughly relaxed. read more

I get regular massages and I have to say the massage here was one of the best I have ever had!!! Great environment and team! I could tell that the massage therapist really understood the muscles in the body and how to work them. The only sad thing is that I am from out of town so I can't switch them to my new regular place. read more

I needed a massage while on vacation and picked this place because it was near out rental, a good deal, and seemed to have good reviews. I have a lot of neck tension and Ryan (my masseuse) really helped relieve a lot of it. would definitely return here on my next vacation. I liked that it included a foot scrub. read more

Both my wife and I had massages. We were a little apprehensive when we saw the building, but the staff were welcoming and attentive. Unlike your traditional massage spa; they took the time to walk you through some self massage techniques to help you relax. We were a spur of the moment and they had no issue accommodating us. We will definitely be back in the future. read more

I can't say enough good things about Essence! I recently visited Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks (Fall of 2021) and ended up going there 3 times for different services! This is my third experience with Essence in 4 years though...I live in NY, but try to make it whenever I can. 90 minute massage with Ryan--I melted into the massage table this entire time. I've had massages from Ryan before in previous visits, so I knew I had to see him again! He has a wonderfully calm and relaxing demeanor, and a firm-yet-gentle touch. Outstanding massage! Swedish Signature Scrub and (separately) Hydrafacial, both with Ashley--This was the first time I've had any services from Ashley. I was hesitant because I knew I liked Ryan's massage so much, but I also wanted to experience someone else. I was not disappointed!!! Ashley was sweet, knowledgeable, and professional...and gave an incredible massage to boot! The Swedish Signature Scrub (massage, facial, and foot scrub/massage) was a 2-hour service of heaven. I was sooooo relaxed, head to toe. The Hydrafacial was an interesting experience...I didn't know what to expect, but Ashley walked me through everything (per my request) and it was wonderful! My skin was so hydrated and fresh feeling when I was done. The spa was clean and clients are vetted for any symptoms of sickness before going, so I felt as safe as possible going there. I've received dozens of massages (maybe even hundreds??) from different people in my life and I can honestly say Ryan and Ashley are two of my all-time favorites! Essence is an adorable, little spa, and I tell anyone that I know who goes to Myrtle Beach about it. There's nothing flashy about it from the outside, but when you're inside, it's like you stepped into a relaxation oasis. I can't wait to go back! :) read more

LOVE the atmosphere of this little spa. So relaxing as soon as you walk in the door. Ashley did a great job on my eyebrow waxing; she was friendly, attentive, and professional. I bought an eyebrow wax on Groupon to try out, but I will definitely be returning to try out their other services. read more

I call and call and call and can never make an appointment because no one is reachable on the phone. I leave numerous messages for a call back and still cannot receive a return call. I received a Groupon as a gift for spa services while I'm visiting the Myrtle beach area but it is of no use to me because I can't make an appointment. They need to hire a receptionist if the volume of customers is that many. Highly disappointed. read more

Amazing! I went to Essence Day Spa a few weeks ago, and it was the most relaxing experience. The website was very user friendly and easy to make appointments online. The staff was so nice as well. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend. read more

I had an amaaaazing massage but I don't remember who it was with. The place is very clean and very relaxing. I fell asleep numerous times during the massage.. lol. I pointed out a neck pain that I got from sleeping incorrectly and she paid close, close attention to that area. If I lived in the area, I would make this a monthly routine at the very least! Thank you Essence Day Spa! read more

Best massage I have ever had. Service was excellent from start to finish. The emailed reminder is a great touch and even lets you know who your massage therapist is before you even get there. Made an appointment for a 90 minute massage the lady at the front desk was very nice and I had some problems with redeeming my Groupon and she helped me get the situation resolved. I had a massage by josh and he did a wonderful job I felt so relaxed afterwards. They were able to see me the same day that I called. Convenient location on 18th ave north. I got a wonderful massage from Ashley.

I found a great deal for a couples massage on Groupon. When I arrived for my appointment which I scheduled a month prior, I was told that I cancelled my appointment - which wasn't true. They had already scheduled someone else in my place. They told me that I left a voicemail to reschedule- again not true. I asked to hear the voicemail which they couldn't produce and the phone number they claim the call came from was not my number. I enjoyed the massage but not so much the hassle of getting it done. And I expected someone to apologize for the inconvenience of it all which I didn't receive. I won't go back. There are plenty of other places I can spend my money that will honor my appointment & appreciate my business. read more

Ala gave an amazing facial! She paid lots of attention to detail and the abundance of massage that she performed was wonderful! I will be back soon and I highly recommend Essence day spa for a facial. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere too. read more

Absolutely horrible!! Wish I could give it zero stars! The esthetician has no idea what she was doing when she gave me a facial. My face had a Horrible reaction to the crud that she put all over my face and I had to go to the doctor and get several anti-histamine's to calm down what she did. When I contacted the owner to get even a partial refund, the owner refused and became very aggressive through text. I wish I would've saved the text to upload here. Please do not waste your money!! read more
