Nice station, easy to navigate. Frequent trains to where ever you need to go. Just a hint tracks 21/22 are way the heck out there.

It is very complicated to find ticket automates. And you have to tread small yellow pages to know where your train will leave.

    S-Bahnhof Süd

The title said it already: this is not about the pub of the same name occupying the former station…read morebuilding. This is about the real Bahnhof Süd (South Station actually, according to official railway company definitions it is just a railway stop, a station has a least one track switch). The S6 Line starts at Essen Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) and leads to Köln (Cologne) Hauptbahnhof passing through Düsseldorf. One can reach Cologne without changing the line. Bahnhof Süd is just three minutes away from Essen Hauptbahnhof. Next stops would be Essen Stadtwald and Essen Hügel (a rather famous station due to its history which links it to the Krupp Family). Recently Bahnhof Süd has been renovated. The platform into the direction of Essen Hauptbahnhof has been moved into the direction of Stadtwaldplatz. The old waiting area with its large wooden roof was demolished and both platforms received shiny new waiting areas, which are rather fancy but without character (contrary to the former old one). Security on the platforms has improved, they are well lit now. Both platforms have access for wheelchairs. The platforms lie below Rellinghauser Str. which crosses the railway tracks over a bridge. The platforms can be reached from both sides of the street. A tram stop (line 105 to Rellinghausen or Frintrop), a taxi rank and a roofed place for bicycles lie right next to the station. A tip I saw on a webpage for architecture in the Moltkeviertel (Moltke Quarters): If you are in the centre of Essen hanging around with no appointment, why do you not just enter the S6, arrive at Essen Süd three minutes later, pass Pizza Fungi III and Marcel Restaurant, turn left into Schnutenhausstr., walk down all the way and then up the hill across Moltkestr. and walk round Moltkeplatz? it is green, there are tennis courts, a restaurant/cafe, art in public, old houses. It takes an hour and you might have seen a rather nice part of Essen. I think it is worth the effort (a few pictures: http://www.labkultur.tv/blog/gut-gebaut-rundgang-durch-das-essener-moltkeviertel ). OY!!! So you found a mistake and now you think you can correct me, ha??? And you are perfectly right! Any comment on grammar and style is highly appreciated!!
