Good food, bad service. As with many steakhouses in Rio, none of the meat dishes come with any kind…read moreof salad or vegetables--only rice and French fries. A lot of restaurants are willing to swap the fries or rice for a simple salad, but these guys flat-out refused. The (unfriendly) waiter said we'd have to order an additional whole salad, even though we were only two people and he acknowledged it would probably be too much food.
This is inflexibility for inflexibility's sake. Raw lettuce and tomatoes should be cheaper than cooked rice and potatoes. They seemed to have the impression that Caravela do Visconde was the only restaurant in Rio, or that my girlfriend and I were both quadriplegic and unable to transfer ourselves to one of the many other restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Or maybe they just don't need the business, in which case, good for them. We left and went to Lima down the street.
