Id recommend giving the players an idea of how they might be successful next time or at least telling them thank you or have a good night. This place did not disappoint! We are visiting the area and we always like to check out local escape rooms. One note, which I missed on the website - within 24 hours you need to call to book, as the online reservation system will not allow you to reserve. We did the Precinct room - 50s style, who-dunnit room. There were only 3 of us, which was fine, but with the amount of clues, it may have been useful to have a couple more people. We really liked the custom-crafted hint system and chose to do it on request, but the host will accommodate your preferences on hints. Speaking of hosts, Mike, our host, was great - funny, engaging and clearly enjoys his job. The room is challenging, even for more experienced players and we would highly recommend it. Really like having a private room and not having to share the place with strangers - especially now with the virus concerns. Liked it so much, we are going back today for the '80s room. read more

We (myself, my 11 year old, and my 9 year old) just did the Young Sherlock room and had a blast! Sophia did a great job welcoming us, explaining how everything worked, and--most importantly--giving clues that helped get us back on track without giving too much away. The set and props in the room were beautiful and fun to work with. The puzzles were appropriately scaled for the age range but still fun for an adult as well. We got a big kick out of the props and signs we got to pick from at the end to take our group photo; it was hard to pick a favorite to use. We had a wonderful time and definitely plan to go back again in the future! (However, I will make sure to dress warmly next time. I was dressed appropriately for the summer heat but found the room on the colder side. Then again, I get cold easily, so take that with a grain of salt!) read more

Best Friday night group outing in a long time!! We decided to do both rooms at this location in the same night (well worth the price and time) and we all had a great time as we even dressed in 80's outfit to help conquer the escape the 80's room. Both the precinct and 80's room were lots of fun, with plenty of space, challenging puzzles, riddles, and "Yes" moments. Our host for the evening was Mike. He is actually a reason we will be going back as he was very personable and fit right in with our group. We actually asked if we go to the York location, can we request him as our host there. I highly recommend these rooms if you are looking to try an escape room as these are two of the better rooms and host you will have the pleasure to come across. read more

Took my team for a team building activity. The host, Aidan, was great and made even the rules fun. (Who likes rules and restrictions) We were able to escape with 4 mins to spare. The room was challenging and everyone had to work together and contribute to get out, which was the whole point of a team building activity. Would like to visit their York location that has more rooms to choose from. This location only has 2. We did the 80's room and I'd love to return and try the Dr room. We celebrated my father in laws birthday and played in both the 80's Room and the Mad Doctor. It was a great time! Only 3 of our group of 18 had ever done one before. I think the one that didnt thought it would be easy and were surprised that it really did take almost an hour to "escape". Our group had ages 15-80 and every one of us contributed to our rooms. It was a good activity for a multi aged group. My room, Mad Doctor, was hosted by Dr. John and he was very personable and as others said, added to the overall experience. Group of 6 girlfriends had our first experience with escape rooms here and it was quite an experience! We all had confidence that would figure out how to get out within the hour allotted but were we wrong! One of the most intensive puzzles/mysteries ever. I entered the '80's room' with a group of 8 men ages 30ish to 70ish. We were told that there was a key somewhere within the room to escape. No "start here" instructions, just milled around until we started to notice oddities, which began to look like puzzles, which when solved began opening locks on doors and cabinets, Etc, which presented more puzzles. We go out with 15 seconds to spare!. Great time! Fun seeing a Commodore 64 again, and VHS players, cassettes, Etc. I do puzzles for a living (computer Tech) This was more fun. Took my daughter here for her 16th birthday. This was our first escape room experience. We had a blast. We were in the Mad Dr. Room. The theme and puzzles were so well designed and fun to solve. Phenomenal first experience in an escape room. We did the 80s room with 6 people and had a great time - puzzles were super interesting and the vibe of the room was really immersive. Others in my party who had done escape rooms said this was among their favorites. Host provided hints at just the right moments and prevented us from wasting too much time going down rabbit holes (and also had a very cool way of explaining the room rules before we went in). Great experience! Our group dressed for the theme and this place did not disappoint. Our host Mike was equally fun and made it even more enjoyable than we anticipated. We did both of their rooms and had a hard time agreeing on which one was our favorite. Such a creative escape room, immersed in the experience all the way from the lobby. Went with my family of 6 and we had a great time doing the Sherlock's Office escape room. A Sherlock Holmes attire was left on a chair in the escape room, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to wear it but it was an amazing addition. Say less. I was READY. Being the responsible planner that I am, I tried to reserve a lane ahead of time online...only to be prompted to pay $70 to reserve one bowling lane. On $2 Tuesday. My brain immediately went, "Ma'am, something is not mathing here." So instead of rage-clicking checkout, I messaged Midway Bowl for clarification. To their credit, they responded quickly and explained that daily specials are first-come, first-served only and can only be redeemed in person. Slightly annoying if you're driving any distance, but, we decided to roll the dice and show up anyway. We walked in and I was fully hyped for Mardi Gras bowling. I had been talking about this for DAYS. And then... Front desk guy: "No clue what you're talking about. Maybe the bar." Me, internally: Sir. The Facebook post. The graphics. The vibes. The expectations. None of this was a fever dream. Because literally, HOURS before I walked in the door, they posted on Facebook: "Today is the day! Come join us from 6-10 pm for our Mardi Gras themed $2 Tuesday!" I did not dream this up! But okay. It's fine. I'll throw my own Mardi Gras party in my head. No problem. There were Mardi Gras-themed drink names at the Sparetime Lounge bar, but it was packed thanks to trivia night, so we pivoted to snacks and bowling -- which ended up being the real MVP move anyway. Let me tell you about the snack bar because WOW. Two orders of tacos (four tacos total at $1 each), six boneless wings in garlic parmesan sauce ($2), a 12" pepperoni flatbread pizza ($8), and two fountain sodas ($3 each) came to a grand total of $20.84. And the food? Actually GOOD. Not "this is acceptable for a bowling alley" good -- legitimately good. Also shoutout to the snack bar staff member who immediately understood what I meant when I mentioned the $2 specials, because for a minute I thought I had collectively imagined the entire promotion. Bowling itself was an absolute steal -- two games plus shoe rentals for $12 total. And I have to say, Midway Bowl is probably the cleanest, most modern bowling alley I've ever stepped into. Bright, welcoming, lively -- none of that sad, dusty bowling alley energy. Someone clearly cares about this place. So here's the deal: the marketing got me excited for a full-on Mardi Gras themed experience, but in reality, it was just regular $2 Tuesday bowling with some festive drink names floating around. Which is totally fine -- just not quite the "Mardi Gras Edition" I had built up in my head. Would I go back? Absolutely -- just with adjusted expectations and maybe my own beads next time. They're celebrating their 70th anniversary, and it shows in how well they maintain the space. And honestly? Cheap bowling, good food, and a night full of laughs is never a bad time.

We ordered pizza, chicken tenders, onion rings, and sodas all fairly decent what you would expect from a bowling alley. The place was very clean and so were the bathrooms. It was on a Sunday night so it seemed kind of quiet. I hope they get more business on other days and times of the week because this is a very nice place to go and it wasn't busy at all.

We came here with my out of town parents & brother. The weather wasn't great, it was almost closing…read moretime, but we were just there for fun. After a minute of miscommunication, we ended the night with some amazing ice cream and snacks. Great staff, can't wait to come back and finish playing the whole course!
