One enters Santa Caridad through a quiet tiled courtyard (stop to look at the seven Dutch panels,…read moreeach representing a Biblical scene, and at the two marble fountains representing Faith and Charity) and if one walks to the left, through the tiny gift shop, one enters the most majestic space I've seen in Sevilla, the baroque church (see attached photo). Since this is slightly off the tourist trail-- though one does see tour groups pass through-- be prepared to request an audio guide (they offer it in six languages). The guard will give you both a guide and a sheet of paper that indicates what the guide covers-- unlike many of the audio guides in other Sevillan sites, this one is particularly good, and offers rich historical context situating Santa Caridad in the moment it was constructed.
