I brought in a wedding dress much too small for me in the bust, just to ask if it was possible to salvage it. Margie (the tailor) restructured the whole bust, added straps, and extended the modesty panel under the laced back for less than $100! When I got my garters off Etsy, they were huge, so I took them there as well and she altered the delicate lace perfectly. I was so pleased with her skill and demeanor that I sent my future husband to her to fix his disaster of a suit. He looks so handsome, and the entire suit alterations amounted to only $40. This place is a diamond in the rough. (Also, FYI, a basic hem for a pair of pants is 9 bucks.) read more

I had a long wool coat hemmed and you can't even tell it was altered...and I mean that in a GOOD way! The alteration looked as if it was always supposed to be that way. Very happy with their work and will certainly use them then next time I need tailoring done. read more

I had my wedding dress tailored here and they did an amazing job. The prices were fair and seemed to be significantly less expensive than other places in town. I had it hemmed, the sides taken it, the top taken in, and a belt sewn on for $150 total. Margie was very nice and seemed very knowledgable. I actually picked up my dress and then decided I wanted something changed, and she was really helpful and fair in making the changes and not over charging me. I called ahead and asked if they could have three pairs of pants, and two jackets tailored in 5 days for business meetings. They promised me they could. I went in 5 business days later, and they hadn't even started the clothes! I had to stay in town an additional day since these were the only clothes I had to take! I was in such a hurry to get out of town the morning of my meetings to get to Atlanta, I couldn't try the clothes on without risking being late. I get to Atlanta and try on the clothes and I'm honestly not even sure they were altered in any form. I paid $225, and I swear to God they didn't alter ANY of the 5 items. Ended up going to Nordstrom and purchasing new trousers and blazer. I usually go to Elegant Alterations in Green Hills, but wanted something close to my house in Hermitage to save time. Will NEVER make that mistake again and return to this dishonest and unorganized business. read more

Just picked up a dress that I dropped off last week to get hemmed for an event taking place this upcoming weekend. This was my first and last time to use this place. I should have known better when I dropped it off. But when I picked it up today, it smelled like Mexican food and perfume to cover it up. I had good service when I first went to drop off my suit. I had terrible service after I picked it up. I brought my suit in early Monday morning and I was told that it would be ready after 2 pm on Wednesday. When I called around 5:00 pm on Wednesday, I was told that it wasn't ready and that they were working on it. The lady who picked up the phone was really rude and gave me attitude about why I was calling about my suit. I was leaving town early Thursday morning and was told that my suit would be ready after 2 pm on Wednesday! She said that I could come in 30 minutes and my suit would be ready. When I arrived, my suit still wasn't ready and I had to wait. I think they did a good job on tailoring my suit. My waist tailoring was a little tight, but I didn't expect perfection. I might try them again but I would have appreciated if they informed me on the status of my suit if it wasn't going to be ready by the appropriate time. read more

I had two pairs of pants hemmed. They did a nice job and the prices were average but they were not ready by the date promised. They did not appologize for not having them ready but stated that they were up until 1 am working. While I understand that it is a holiday and they are busy the appropriate way to handle it would have been to call and let me know so that I didn't make the 40 minute drive. They do good work, but they are uneven in terms of customer service. One customer comes in while I'm already standing there, they wait on him first, and perform his alterations the same day, me, I gotta wait. I leave something else, it wasn't ready the two times I went to pick it up...so I'll be finding another alteration shop, which I hate, because even though they aren't the most professional looking and acting operation, they do excellent work, but I think I'm ready to pay more and be treated better. read more

If you are a patient and tolerant person, then by all means go to Erika's. They do excellent work; however, are extremely behind and need more help. When I dropped things off last Saturday, they told me they would be ready this Saturday. I mentioned I hadn't used them in years because past experiences were frustrating for me when my things were not ready when promised. She told me to call on Friday with the ticket number, and they would be ready for pick up on Saturday. I decided to call Thursday night. The man that answered asked for the ticket number. He then laid the phone down. I overheard him say the ticket number to an employee, and it was the wrong ticket number. Three times someone came back to the phone for the ticket number. I repeated the correct number, and it happened again and again. I overheard the wrong ticket number being looked for three times. AFTER 11 MINUTES ON THE PHONE, when they came back and said I found them, I said to forget it, I was on my way to pick them up. Such disrespect for customers and shame on me for giving my local business another chance. On the day I dropped them off after commenting on past experiences both myself and my sister have had, the owner took me in the back to show me the hundreds of items they had to work on. Literally, it was tens of feet and more feet of clothing to be done. Don't get me wrong, I bet 10 people came in while I was there to drop off items. They do good work but now I remember why I quit going. They are disorganized and do not have enough help. Beware!!! read more

I'm standing up in a wedding this weekend and we're responsible for finding our own dresses. I finally found my dress at saks off 5th but it was one size too big. Kelly the store associate recommended erickas and I'm so glad she did!! It's a 5 minute drive from opry mills, and she was willing to modify my dress same day to help me out! She tailored it beautifully and for only $25 same day!! (it's a lace overlay- not super simple). Great price, great service, I know they were swamped but they fit me in despite the fact that my own procrastination got me into this predicament. When I came to pick up the dress Ericka's family had stopped by to say hi. This is a very nice family run place with superb customer service, great prices, and great skill! I highly recommend to anyone in Nashville/Clarksville. Clarksville, you'll be happy you made the drive for someone to get it right the first time, and it's so reasonable even with gas you'll still save $! read more
