She was reluctant to help me raise my legs on to the table. Even worse, when I was ready to leave, she refused to raise the table that would help get me up. I finally had to call my wife and another aide finally came in and raised the table. I almost had to call 911. No handicapped individual should ever be subjected to this humiliation. I have never been treated with such disrespect. And when I informed the doctor, she seemed indifferent.

Especially the left one that he ASSURED ME "wouldn't be a problem", well....IT'S a PROBLEM. There are days the kiddie if they left foot hurts so badly, I can't do stairs, AT ALL! (Not good in a 3 story house!). THE tie (1) I originally had trouble with, is FAR worse than before ANY of the surgeries he done on it. The "original", the corrective, the corrective to the current ice, the corrective ones to fix his corrections, ,the correction for the broken rod......Etc. The two toes that started TURNING after surgery to straighten them from curving, are STILL turning (twisting), AJD he clipped the leaders in the bottom, so they hang out well past my big toe, which they never did, by now it's just plain freakish. It's horrible pain to wear shoes, was already in a 13. I asked SPECIFICALLY on two SEPERATE VISITS about each tOE,?if they become an issue it cause problems. (One, WHILE washing his hands, he glanced AT ME and said "None"! The other, I went for X-rays of both feet, they had me leave shoes and socks off, he came in and told me the X-rays looked fine and started out. I asked about her other one, "what about the 2nd toe,?the one that's TWISTING, will it be an issue?" Never looking back, not at me, nit looking surprised, but straight for the door, he replied, "No, it'll be fine". ) MAYBE it be will, he didn't specify if he meant , full time, in SEVERAL years, after I'm dead, or what. So, maybe after death it will be fine'! I don't want to rush to judgement. I just know for now....it hurts like hell. Due to daily life with this mess....I'm changing the 2 stars to one, it won't let me give less. I'd THOUGHT the way (a couple if then) pretended to care, and on SOME days were actually nice, that after the first review, they'd call and say "sorry about that", even if he didn't have the ethics to say "I'll fix it if you allow!" Or,,"ok, so I answered, not knowing what you were talking about because I didn't even look or know what I was answering "No" too, but if you'll come back I'll look and see if I should have paid more attention, or if I just lied and didn't care!" But.....NOTHING, not even a comment. I guess I should have figured something changed when he was always so busy/eager to get in and out, (NOT busy with patients!!!!). My infectious disease Dr. didn't agree with him and asked me to see Dr Kron. He was able to remove the skin infection and get me back on my feet. I am now scheduled to have my foot operated on to help me walk better. Long story I was in a bad accident and I walk on the outside of my foot. Due to my own stupidity and bad luck, I had an ingrown toenail coupled with athlete's foot. The athlete's foot had bent my toenail to curve in and dig into the flesh until I had an infection. I kept putting it off until I was hobbling along and found Dr. Stepnicka's office. She immediately treated it with some sort of icing spray and cut out the offending portion. Many thought I was going to lose the entire nail but not with her help! She even told me I should be feeling better within the hour and she was right! I didn't stopwatch it but it was within approximation; I was walking normally again. Clear and apparent evidence of her experience and expertise. I would recommend her to anyone and plan to go back for any future issues. Thanks Doc!

I was a reluctant patient as I felt that my concern was a bit trivial and I was only there at my husband's insistence. I had a brief wait and then I went in to see Dr. Jill. She had a really nice and relaxed bedside manner and she cared more about my problem that I did. I was actually minimizing the problem because toe nails just aren't that serious to me and I was not having on-going pain, just discomfort with pressure. I did it to get "Mr. Rogers" off my neck. What I will remember most about Stepnicka, is the way her face lit up when she was describing a particular procedure that had a positive outcome. She probably thought I was being "cheeky" when I smiled at her but in that moment I saw the passion she had for her work. Priceless! Even if she had not sent me that nice handwritten card thanking me for my visit, I would certainly recommend Dr. Jill and visit her again in the future.
