After the consulation, I decided to have all my wisdom teeth removed (at a much older age than typical) and I also had an extra tooth on the upper left side, behind my wisdom tooth. From the consultation appointment, Dr. Witcher and his staff were very kind, thorough and they explained everything very clearly. I scheduled my surgery for the week of my Spring Break (I am a teacher) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how everything went. I was anxious and nervous about the recovery, but Dr, Witcher and his entire team made the experience so easy. The surgery was over in an hour and I was home by 10 AM. I had no swelling and no pain. I followed all of Dr. Witcher's post-surgery instructions and the hardest part was eating soft food for a week. :) My post-op appointment went well and now 3 weeks later, I am so relieved to be done with this procedure. I am so grateful to Dr. Witcher and his team (front office, nurses, assistants..) for making a very stressful situation extremely easy for me. I am deeply grateful to have found this office and I am so glad that Dr. Witcher was my oral surgeon.

I quickly went to my dentist who said that…read morebecause I broke the tooth off at the gum line, I would have to have an implant before a new tooth can be attached. I was informed that the existing root would have to be removed before the metal post could be inserted. My dentist recommended Dr. Adel Talfilis in Carmel Valley for the extraction. Because of my travel schedule, I did not have the time to interview a number of specialists, rather I went with my dentist's recommendation. Dr. Talfilis recommended general anesthesia for the procedure. Soon after the surgery I noticed I was bleeding from not only the site of the extraction but also from the adjacent front tooth. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the adjacent tooth was a little loose and twisted (torqued) during the surgery. Dr. Talfilis downplayed any issue and said the pain would subside, and the tooth should be pushed back in line with gum pressure. Needless to say, he was not correct. My own dentist was very surprised that the adjacent tooth was damaged by the extraction. After a very painful week following the surgery, my general dentist bonded the tooth to one of my canine teeth to reduce movement. Now, 5 months later, the tooth adjacent to the surgical site is still painful and uncomfortable. I anticipate that that this damaged tooth may require a root canal, which was directly caused by Dr. Talfilis surgical work. Do your homework before selecting a dental specialist.

Dr. Tawfilis and his office staff immediately validated my experience and worked quickly to get me scheduled for surgery to repair my broken chin. His staff was equally incredible--empathetic, friendly, and diligent in working with my insurance to ensure my procedures were covered. Scheduling was easy, and the entire experience was as smooth as I could have hoped for given the circumstances. If you're in need of an oral surgeon, I highly recommend Dr. Tawfilis and his amazing team!

Always nice to feel as thought you're just going to visit with some friends. All ladies, but Dr. McReynolds. Went there for a couple of years. Great atmosphere and felt at home. They have movie options for those long visits (you know, those that require drilling). I had quite a bit of work done and it all turned out great. Great dental expertise from everyone. Got free whitening kit as a gift for my wedding (and probably because my insurance and I spent thousands of dollars there). Only reason why I am giving them 4 and not 5 stars is that after a very short time (about a year or so) two chunks of a bridge that was put in broke off (each happened within a few months of each other), none since. One chunk from the front end and the other on the back end. I paid more for a material that i was told was suppose to last a lot longer than what they typically use. I had just moved to Australia to do my PhD and used their e-mail from their website to contact them about it and to schedule a visit for when I'm back in the US and a no-charge repair since it seems I got lemon of a bridge, which I understand can be a fluke occurence, but the customer shouldn't be liable for it. They never got back to me and I've just been living with the missing chunks ever since. I have to say this surprised me because they knew me very well and probably paid for several vacations with all the work I gave them. This was back in '07. I've since moved back to California and might have to make a visit. I'm torn between a rating of 3 and 5 so I just gave them a 4. 5 Stars for the friendly and knowledgeable staff and 3 stars for the lemon of a bridge that I got and the non-response to my e-mail. I still recommend the place, but might want to be wary of the claims regarding material that is suppose to be more durable.

Based on his previous office manager's assurance that insurance would void the prior claim, I proceeded with treatment and paid in full upfront the next day. The insurance claim was ultimately not voided, leaving me responsible for $2,527.40 out of pocket. I felt the manager just wanted to get the money from me and I felt cheated. Unfortunately, the replacement crown placed by Dr. Alhamdi also resulted in failed margin fitting and seal. After reviewing X rays that I specifically requested, I noticed a distal margin ledge that was never disclosed to me. Dr. Alhamdi kept saying the margin fit was acceptable, but two independent dentists later confirmed the margin issue and an inadequate seal. Dr. Alhamdi said he can redo the crown for my son not because he made some errors but because of a courtesy of my request which made me feel he is not an honest person. Despite multiple written and phone requests, the office has never provided my son's clinical notes nor responded to my refund request. This was already the second failed crown on the same tooth, and my son now needs a third replacement. Keeping repeating the crown 3 times plus the original crown is damaging the tooth a lot and my son is only 17 years old. Given the repeated issues, lack of transparency, and poor follow up, I no longer trust this office for care.
