Each time they promise it will be fixed, and each time it is not. With printed news on the decline, they can't afford to treat patrons like this.

This was the same with my husband's family. A few months ago, they raised their price from $41 to $46 a month for this thin little paper that had more advertising then news in it. We decided to cancel the paper however they offered us a deal they had for $11.50 which I was told was for a year, but it then changed to 3 months and then changed again to 2 months. Well that took 4 phone calls back and forth because their customer service representative(s) did not know how to tell the truth about that supposed deal. We finally decided to go with the on-line version which only cost $6.99 a month. However I forgot to change my auto-pay amount to $6.99 and for October and November paid them a total of $82.00. Unfortunately, they have bad accounting and credited that amount to my now cancelled newspaper. Monday my husband tries to access the On-line version of the paper and our account was suspended for non-payment. Mind you they have $82.00 of my money which is almost a years worth of On-line news. I initiated an On-line Chat with one of their Customer Service Representatives who tells me what happened and informs me that he will get my money moved over to the correct On-line account and we will have access to the On-line news immediately. As you can suspect by now, this did not happen. Today I called and as CS Representative first comes on the line all I hear is laughing in the back ground and I keep having to say Hello with no response back. After several minutes he finally responds to me and informs me that the only way they can activate my On-line account is for me to pay the past due amount and he would immediately unlock the On-line news. Now they have $82.00 of my money but will not unlock it because it takes about 4 days to a week to move the credit. I ask to speak to a Supervisor and I'm told that one is not available, all this time the guy is apologizing to me and saying he knows how I feel but if I would just pay the "past due" amount he would gladly unlock my account. I one again ask to speak to a Supervisor, he tells me if I can wait about 5 minutes he will see if he can get one for me. I had already been on the phone now for 20 minutes between holding and speaking to the Representative. The supposed Supervisor comes on the line and she states there is nothing more that she can do, that basically "it is what it is and this is the way their system works". I inform her to close my account and refund my $82.00 and tell her I have never had such bad customer service in my life. She gives me the "oh well" attitude. I request a confirmation number for our conversation and ask how long it will take to get my refund. She states "you will have to take my word for it we don't give out confirmation numbers and they is will take a minimum of 15 to 30 days before I get my refund. I inform her that I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and she says "Go Ahead". Worst, Worst, Worst .....................!!!!!!!!!!!!
