I was pretty excited to check this store out. The name is mystical and the lettering is inviting…read morefor those of us who have a place in our hearts for fantasy. Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed. I was greeted well when I arrived and the employees were attentive for my entire stay (asking if I needed help finding anything, if I had any questions, etc.). I would agree with some of the other reviews that this store is a bit hard to navigate. They have quite a large Harry Potter section -- I think this takes up the majority of their store. Then they have some crystals and incense, which don't seem all that fitting. It's like walking through 15 different stores all in one location... and not in a good way. They have your mainstream geek things (Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Nightmare Before Christmas, Magic) and then some random things like the crystals, incense, tapestries, wall vinyls. I came to the store to get a set of dice for DnD, which I thought was a pretty standard item to carry for geeky stores such as this. Apparently, I was wrong. They had a pretty good amount of individual dice (enough to pick out your own color/style for each die you needed to create a set and I did find all matching ones) but they all felt kinda cheap (I mean they were only $0.25 each). They had some very plain sets of dice in plastic bags as well, but they were mostly sad solid colors that reminded me of the dice you got with 90s board games. Other than dice, they had the typical DM Guide and Player's Handbook and a few other DnD items. No miniatures to be found, however. I'd recommend this store if you're looking for a place to gather and play games (they have an upstairs gaming room) or if you need some Harry Potter things, but otherwise I don't know that I would frequent it or go out of my way to stop in.

Review Visit: March 11th, 2015…read more Do you love board games? Magic the Gathering? Puzzles? Then this place is Just For You! Just For Fun has just about every board game you can think of. With the exception of the mass produced ones (Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, etc). If you are looking for it, they probably have it. They have shelves and shelves and shelves full of games. They have a huge stash behind the registers. They have stuff on the counter. If you can't find a board game in here that interests you, then you probably are not really into board games. They also offer your usual Magic: the Gathering offerings. Cards, sleeves, decks, pre-releases, etc. Their prices are fair on those, except they charge more for the Magic pre-releases. Why? Probably because they can and people pay it. Also offered are odds and ends. Dice. Playmats. Those figures you paint and then set up battles for (sorry, I don't know the technical name for that). Board Game night on Thursday, last I knew. They have casual gaming areas where I think you can just come in with your friends, snag a table and play. Overall, a great store for the Peoria area. Staff has been wonderful pretty much every time I've been in there though. Since their initial opening, they have moved locations several times. Hopefully their current spot is home to them for a long time. Their rating would be a bit higher, but overcharging for Magic pre-releases irks me more than it should. That aside, a great gaming store that Peoria needed. I will try to snap a few photos the next time I am in there and update this post when I do.

Just For Fun has an incredible board game selection, one of the best I've ever seen at a game…read morestore. The folks at the counter are knowledgeable and can help you find games or recommend a game if you're not quite sure what you're looking for. The prices are pretty standard; they're not offering sales that I've seen, but they're also not marking stuff way above retail either. As someone who prefers to browse shelves and look at the games in order to make my board game purchases, I haven't found a better store for that anywhere. I can easily spend 2+ hours browsing the aisles, sitting on the floor to examine a game and read reviews on BoardGameGeek, and I've never been bothered for it. They also have a selection of games you can just play, if you're looking to kill some time or test something out before considering a purchase. There's a limited selection of used games for sale at a discount; you may find something cool there or maybe not, it depends on when you go. They have an okay selection of dice, miniatures, and RPG books. I've seen gaming stores with a better selection in that category, but they don't have the board game selection that Just For Fun does. I know this store does events (Magic, other card games, board games, etc.) but I live almost an hour away so I have never come in for those. Still, I know every time I come in that I'm going to be leaving with several new games, and a smile on my face. I'm very thankful this place exists!
