Here is the catch: they hide a massive increase to your principal (they tried to add $10k to mine) and reset your 30-year clock. You end up owing significantly more than when you started. The most unprofessional part? I could clearly hear a manager whispering instructions to the agent in the background, coaching her on how to manipulate the conversation. When I questioned the math or said I didn't understand their confusing textbook-scripted jargon, they became condescending and mocked me. They are looking for victims who won't check the math.
