My specific interest were Spanish folders in the unique Navaja style (with the little lever on the back). Of course, knife prices have a large range, and there were plenty of economical attractive and functional ones. Inside are a variety of different brands, related kitchen stuff, sharpening services, and folks who really know their cutlery. I personally find country-specific knives to be an interesting and fascinating shopping opportunity, of which you'll find here.

Second, even though it's far from the main part of San Sebastián, the bus stop is right in front of the hotel and they run between 8am and 10pm every half an hour. If you don't like to take bus down, you can just walk up to Monte Igueldo (about 5 minutes walk from the hotel) and take funicular down. (It costs more but it's fun to do it) Yes it'll add up some money for the transportation, but it's cheaper to stay here than anywhere else in old town. The view from the hotel is gorgeous! We didn't try their breakfast but it's only 6€ per person which is not expensive at all. You can make tea, coffee, hot chocolate at the dining room all afternoon (until 10pm I believe) and we enjoyed our tea with cheesecakes and cookies we brought back from a pastry shop in old town while viewing ocean in the evening. If we ever come back to San Sebastián, we'll definitely come back here and stay again!!

With a good view of the ocean…read more breakfast at hotel is OK but the view is beautiful. the bus passes by right in front of the hotel, although at night it's really tough to see your stop. It could get pretty expensive taking the bus everyday, walking down to SS would take a while and rather steep and dangerous. Would probably not stay here again just because of the location.
