This company is a scam. Half the coupons in the book are not accepted at the businesses. Don't waste your money.

Hi this company and all their affiliated sister company's are a scam. They are scamming whoever is purchasing it and also scamming the restaurants you are using the coupons for. Do you know why some restaurants won't accept these coupons even tho it's in the offer?! ITS BECAUSE THEY WILL MAKE UP OFFERS AND ADD IT IN WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION. speaking from a restaurant perspective that has been scammed by this company I have tried several times to contact them and let them know that they need to remove our business from their services BUT THERE IS NO DIRECT NUMBER! I get credits for T-Mobile Tuesday. There isn't much to purchase in my area. I purchased a couple of certificates, hit Mobile while in the restaurant/store, and nothing happens. A code should pop up, or something for the store to scan. Nope - nothing happens. Useless and a scam. Hopefully, T-Mobile gets rid of these rewards because they are not rewards. read more

Entertainment Publications owns what is known as "Dining Advantage" which is a coupon subscription kind of service, somewhat like Restaurant.com. It is a marketing company that is as shady as shady can get. If you purchase coupons with them, establishments do not have to honor them (says so on their fine print). And yet, they will continue to advertise them. If you email them a complaint, here's what you may expect to hear: "Please know that issues like these are not common, and we do take complaints like these very seriously. Per the Offer Rules of Use for the Dining Advantage program (https://www.diningadvantage.com/pages/offer-rules), "Entertainment, and/or its parent or subsidiaries, will not be responsible if any establishment breaches its contract or refuses to accept the coupons/mobile offers; however, it will attempt to secure compliance." Entertainment will reach out to this merchant to investigate this matter and we will try to resolve it as quickly as possible." If 40% of the coupons I've gotten from them doesn't work, then sure I guess it is "not common". I have had a merchant repeatedly complain stating the coupons do not help them because it does not have a bar code for them to scan, so they can choose not to honor them. McDonalds was wise to warn them to remove them from their site (though it was without notice or credit to my account), but it is still sad that T-Mobile partners with them. read more

Entertainment Publications - Marketing Near Me - Troy, Michigan

They have been running this SCAM for years and getting away with it! In March 2019, I purchased a coupon book for $11.00 on sale, but it wasn't until I received it that I realized it was completely misrepresented on their website. There were barely any coupons for my local area, and the savings not that great. Not to mention, they publish coupons WITHOUT the knowledge or permission of the merchant, which is why they print the disclosure in their books. Then in July 2019, barely four months later, I received an email confirmation that I had ordered and been charged $30 for the following years coupon book, which I did not order nor agree to. They, of course, asserted otherwise, but the fact is they bury in fine print that this is a 'membership' and you agree to its 'automatic renewal' (i.e. automatic orders & billing). This I only learned after disputing the charge with my bank, who could do nothing about it because of this fact. It's also worth noting a couple other facts. Such as, they are supposed to send a reminder via email prior to the automatic renewal, and said email contains a link to cancel. However, they do not in fact send this email, but they will assert with great specificity the date/time the supposed email was sent, and when proof is demanded they hide behind excuses of 'privacy'. Moreover, the link to cancel which is supposed to be provided in this email does not direct you to what you know as your account, but rather to what is essentially a second hidden account you otherwise cannot easily get to. In the end, I was scammed out of $41.00, but my bank couldn't do anything. I filed a complaint with the BBB, who at the time had a "pattern of complaint" warning across the top of the profile page for this business with almost 40 complaints, but the BBB couldn't have been more useless if they tried. Since then this business somehow got a 'new' profile page, which only has a few complaints, and the old profile page has no complaints whatsoever. I don't know how this even happens, but it speaks to how shady this business is. Also, after getting nowhere with my bank or the BBB, I then contacted the Attorney Generals office, which THEY initiated a complaint on my behalf, but then turned around and did absolutely nothing. Mind you I provided more than ample proof of this businesses wrongdoings, but they sent the exact same form letter response every time, and not once did they provide any proof to support their claims. It's absolutely mind-boggling that they've literally been running this scam for years, and nobody will do a thing about it. read more

No phone number for customer service. Will not refund auto renewals for any reason they put out restaurant offers for closed restaurants or restaurants that do not take the offer. They do not compensate you for their screwup. Not worth anything but a headache read more

Oh, where do I begin? First, a significant number of businesses listed in current editions will not honor Entertainment coupons. As an example, out of the 3 restaurants listed in our local edition that we visited most recently, only one accepted our coupon. The second business terminated their contract with Entertainment months before the cut-off date for the current book, but their coupon appeared in the book anyway. The third business, under new ownership, was no longer accepting coupons. In response to my complaint, a Customer Support rep said the only way to check merchant offer availability was to contact the merchant directly. Second, some businesses do not comply with Entertainment's "Rules of Use," but this company appears unwilling or unable to enforce compliance. When I contacted Entertainment to report one such business, the Customer Support rep was indifferent, insisting, "They are entitled to make their own rules." Fine ... but shouldn't the rules of that particular business appear on the coupon? Finally, unsuspecting customers who purchase books online at a discount might find themselves automatically enrolled in the so-called Annual Renewal Program. This happened to me and I responded, "I did NOT place this order, nor would I have authorized any recurring charge to my credit card." Entertainment's reply was jarringly defensive and arrogant. After I threatened to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Michigan Attorney General, and my credit card company, the rep instructed me to mark the unopened package "Return to sender" and hand it to my mail carrier, thereby incurring no return shipping cost. But it was several weeks before I received a refund (a few months later, books that originally sold for $30 through their program were reduced to $10). Entertainment Publications, which has been in business since 1962, is not currently accredited by the Better Business Bureau, but incredibly, BBB gives them an "A-" rating. I've been charged monthly fees for the last couple years despite cancelling the card and setting up a new banking account with the same institution. There is absolutely NO support for dispute within the company. I am left with disputing for each and every monthly charge through my bank or changing banks entirely! Its a Scam! I go through the process, select coupon and go to the restaurant. At this point the coupon value is deducted from my "credits". You have to actually redeem coupon when paying the bill, and now the coupon terms changed!! Now, it costs more to meet the terms than if I didn't use the coupon at all. The coupon clearly says "Buy one entree and get another entree of lesser value free". You select it, that costs you $7 of credits. Now, when you redeem it the terms changes to BOGO + 2 drinks. (The drinks costs a lot more than $7). You can't redeem it beforehand because the coupon is only good for an extremely short time. Its a scam. read more

Noticed a membership charge on my Citibank credit card I canceled years ago. For my personal experience, this is a FRAUDULENT and SCAM operation. Calling Michigan officials to open an investigation into how this company operates. This a bait and switch sham operation. Today I was billed $60 for two books that I did not order. They claim I was on automatic renewal. "Clearly!" they replied. I started a dispute claim with Visa. After I signed up for the Entertainment Publications' digital version (the only one available in 2022), I printed one of the $8 coupons for a Vietnamese restaurant in Huntington WV; but the coupon was to expire only 2 days from printing. Therefore, I rushed to the restaurant, which told me they didn't accept Entertainment's digital coupons and that they told Entertainment repeatedly to remove them from the digital book.  However, the manager decided to go ahead and accept the coupon, this time.  When I checked for the other $8 coupon in my digital membership, it said that I had already printed it when I had not.  I had a very difficult time finding online a phone number for Entertainment. I will call them to cancel the automatic renewal for my membership next year.  It's not worth it.  It is difficult to search for the coupons, there are very few of them in the digital version, and coupons expires just a couple days after printing (instead of at the end of the year, when the paperback versions existed). File a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General's office and explain that the daily deal does not expire. You entered into a contract with Entertainment; you did not receive the service, so Entertainment did not pay out for your certificate. Thus, you are entitled to your original money back. Extremely poor customer service. I too was on hold for an hour, waiting for customer service. I was trying to get refunds for two Entertainment Daily Deal certificates from companies that I could no longer contact because they had gone out of business. The customer service representative told me that they would not refund me since the company had been sold in April. Hmmmm. I would respectfully suggest that no one spend money with this organization because they do not stand behind their product. Groupon, on the other hand, does offer refunds for certificates to companies that have gone out of business. read more
