I was able to easily drop the vehicle off after hours. The day after I dropped It off I got a call from Mark verifying drop off and to close out the contact. Manager Cole is terrible. I have been renting cars with enterprise for years but won't continue. While moving between Washington and Oregon I have needed to rent cars and always pay with debit card. The agency has always collected a refundable deposit for using a debit card -- no problem. Today this manager Cole refuse to honor my car reservation due to no major credit card. I scrambled to find another rental for my trip which cost me additionally money and delayed my appointments. Enterprise has lost a customer. Cole should not be working as manager or in customer service. read more

Simply put, Rudy the branch manager is an asshole and incredibly unprofessional. When picking up my car today I was told there was a fee and when I went to pay that fee with my fathers card (I did not have the money on my own card) he butted into my conversation with another one of the workers and repeated loudly, rudely and very sternly that he told me over the phone the card had to be in my name. I did not recall that he did and was pretty sure he did not and when I stated that he got louder and stared me down. It was INCREDIBLY uncomfortable. We ended up doing a bank transfer to my card so I can use it and got out of there ASAP. My dad was livid that they spoke to me that way as well. The worker there who was a newer hire was incredibly kind, funny and helpful and im glad he took over and worked with me vs the jerk of a branch manager. I rented a car for 2 weeks to drive down to LA. There were several issues with the car, relatively minor but annoying. The branch manager, Cole, was not very helpful, but the Area Rental Manager, Corey, stepped in and made everything right. -Car: 2.5 stars (ok but could be better) -Branch manager: 2 stars (could've been better) +Area manager: 5 stars (Great) Total: 9.5/3 = 3.2 stars Problems with the car: -Clearly, the car was not washed (well) . There were visible bug splats, etc. -Gas tank was only 2/3 full. How am I supposed to put only 2/3 of the tank when I return the car? -The registration in the glove compartment had expired. -The maintenance reminder was not reset. As soon as I picked up the car, the maintenance reminder started popping up. As I had 3,000 miles ahead of me, I checked the oil myself and call the office to ask about the maintenance records. All these points above indicate that the car was not properly maintained and was not properly prepared for a customer. So, I was pretty unhappy because these really added stress to my long road trip. Besides, I had paid only $1,000 for the rental, so much more than normal because of vehicle shortage. Problems with the branch manager: I brought up the issues above with the branch manager, Cole. He had an excuse for each and every problem I had. To be fair, I want to acknowledge that he did offer me a 5% and an option of switching out cars in LA. I did not find a 5% discount ($50) to be appropriate. It is also such a hassle to switch out cars. Area Rental Manager: Corey, the area manager, was copied in on my emails to Cole, the branch manager. Corey reached out to me, acknowledged my concerns, and asked me how they can make it right. I was really impressed that he put a customer first. PRO TIP: During your rental, you will receive an email from Enterprise with several people copied in (e.g., branch manager, area manager, etc). Make sure to REPLAY ALL to share your experience. Not only concerns but also compliments. Summary Given my experience with other rental car companies, I would have given Enterprise no more than 2 stars (could've been better). However, because of Corey's professionalism and his willingness to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer, I decided to give them 4 stars (see above for my calculation). It was a Toyota so very dependable at least and good, but it wasn't any special sort of Toyota, and was in just a bit of rough-ish shape honestly, but whatever it did the job. Instead I am driving a piece of junk Buick for the same price. Won't use them again. We had a relatively complicated rental situation and Mica really went above and beyond to make it happen. We needed a car that we could return across the border, but we were arriving late enough that we had to pick up the car from the airport (this location would be closed by the time we arrive). Enterprise normally won't let you pick up a car from the Bellingham airport and return it in Canada, but Mica worked things out so that we were able to pick up the car that reserved at this location at the airport. When we called the corporate number, they said this was impossible, but Mica talked to the corporate office and volunteered to move the car to the airport herself so that we could get the car. There were some issues on the return (the Enterprise location we returned the car to in Canada didn't call this office to say that we'd returned the car, which resulted in a bit of hassle for us), but there's nothing someone from this location could've done about that! read more

Customer service at this location = A+ ...for the rest, it's a super busy location, it's hard to pull in and out of here (there is a back way if you miss the turn and it's easier..) the lot is always packed. The cars are Not the greatest (or I've just had bad luck here ..). I ended up with a van that was awkward to drive and despite it being a non-smoking vehicle (it was marked with a sticker), my nose detected cigarette smoke and wouldn't shut off trying to confirm and it gave me a headache so yeah, not pleasant. Vehicle had satellite radio which worked for first day but then shut off which was disappointing. Luckily I only needed vehicle for a few days. Do NOT USE the ENTERPRISE RENT A CAR location on IOWA STREET in Bellingham, WA. SERVICE WAS HORRIFIC and UNSAFE in my opinion as a registered nurse, business owner, and disabled senior!! The branch manager, RUDY, is the most unprofessional, rude, unhelpful rental car agent I have ever dealt with!! They first gave us a car full of ants, and when they delivered a second vehicle, it reeked of cigarette smoke! Made a reservation to rent a car from here while I was in town visiting my family. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering through a partner of theirs so they didn't reserve the vehicle and had the wrong phone number on file. After I spoke to their branch manager Cole he was reluctant to admit any fault on their end and didn't empathize with me as a customer at all. I've always been a loyal Enterprise customer back home so I was disappointed in his response and the overall customer experience. He kept making me feel like I was at fault for not hooking it directly through their branch. My question for their management was "why offer your reservations through third parties if you aren't going to treat them like you would your customers". Then Cole told me that he'd call me in an hour as soon as a car came in.. needless to say it's been 5 hours and no call, not even a follow up. This was the first time I really felt like Enterprise didn't care and didn't want to work something out for me. Now I'm without a vehicle for Christmas and have to find a way to make it to my brothers house in Oak Harbor. I've had mostly good experience renting vehicles from Enterprise over the years. But things can go wrong no matter how well a business is run. And this was the case with my last rental from this location. I reserved a minivan, but on the morning of pick up was told by phone that one wasn't available. I would have appreciated notification a little earlier. The substitute was a Jeep Compass which is very cramp for us for a one week road trip with 5 people plus all the luggages. But we managed, barely. Nonetheless, Austin & Eric, in the office were sympathetic and professional. They offered me the choice of the Compass or a 12 passenger van. They also matched the rate for the vehicle class that I found with my Costco account while waiving the one way fee for return. The great customer service didn't make up for the unavailable vehicle but it did make a disappointing experience better. read more

Chime debit card was not accepted even though it is a bank debit card. They said Chime is considered a prepaid card because it's a online bank. Not true. I will admit, I had no particular loyalty to any rental company before my recent experience with Enterprise on State St.; now, I will forever expect to be treated as well as I was by this team! We picked this rental based on convenience only, it was supposed to be for just one day and we didn't care what kind of car we received. Annie was so personable and friendly upon checking in that I felt comfortable when I had to extend my reservation, unexpectedly, by an extra day. But the TRULY impressive interaction occurred when dropping the rental off. I was concerned I might have misunderstood the representative about the extension and hoped to talk with Annie for a little clarity. She was working by herself and the phones were ringing off the hook and there was a 'concerned customer' in a hurry behind me in line. I stepped aside, as all I had to do was walk a mile or so in the rain, and was in no hurry to get started. Annie handled the morning bustle with dignity, grace, and absolute professionalism! If I were an employer she is exactly the type of employee I would attempt to recruit away from her current position!! Enterprise is lucky to have her!!! It didn't hurt at all that she offered a courtesy ride to the mechanic's garage; I forgot that was an option and was so grateful to be reminded as I started to leave. Thank you Annie and team!!! These guys are awesome. I have zero complaints about the cars I've rented; the local and SeaTac airport customer service is friendly; there are always cars available when I need them. One time they upgraded me to a ford explorer when I was paying for the cheapest smallest car, so that was nice of them. Thanks, Enterprise! They are also just a short walk from the downtown transit center if you need to take a bus there or back. My insurance company used Enterprise when my car was totaled and it was a no-hassle process. I definitely recommend Enterprise if anybody asks me about rental cars in Bellingham--even though nobody ever asks me about rental cars in Bellingham. read more

I recently was involved in a car accident, and while my car was being repaired needed a rental car. When I arrived near the end of the business day, the staff provided me with a vehicle they had available (which was a truck). They let me know I could bring the truck back another day to exchange it for a smaller vehicle at my leisure after I asked if exchanges were possible. A couple days later I came in and exchanged the truck for a smaller car with literally no hassle. I walked right in, asked to exchange, they let me pick the car I wanted and I was driving away 10 minutes later. When the time came to pick up my car from the shop, I returned the rental and they drove me right over to the shop. Three different women helped me, and each one (including the assistant manager) were fantastic. Very nice, very knowledgeable. They made it very easy to rent a vehicle for a first-time renter like me. read more

I am not sure why my review no longer appears. Re-posting. This review applies to both Bellingham and Seattle (Ballard) location. Please be careful when renting from this company (and location). My family learned the hard way that this company will gladly milk as much money from you when not careful. At first, we were happy that they (Ballard location) rushed getting a Dodge Caravan ready for us to rent. Adriana did a walkthrough with us. Scratches and dents were pointed out; however, we were advised that these were no problem as they were "not larger than a golf ball." We returned the car to the Bellingham location the following day. Britney (management assistant) quickly pointed out one of these dents proceeded to charge $300 USD to our card within the same day. We called back to re-rent the car or at least ask to hold off on fixing so that a proper assessment can be done and involve our insurance. Britney advised us that they had already sent the car out for fixing and that "Damage Recovery" may charge us further. We proceed to call the Ballard location hoping they would be more helpful. When we asked for the area manager, Cory said that their area manager (Kassy) was "new and didn't have a number to provide yet". The "Damage Recovery" department proceeds to also say that the car is still "under investigation" (despite being a week after the return and fix) and that it might take 2-to-4 weeks for them to determine if more charges are required. I will admit that we should have been more careful and videotaped/documented the initial walkthrough. At this point, we are at this company's mercy for any damages they can simply attribute to us and charge to our credit card without certainty of a fair assessment. Take precautions when renting from this company or look for more reliable alternatives. Will not be coming back.Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. At 7:30 that morning I received a call from the local Enterprise dealer saying he didn't have a car. He also did not even check the airport location to see if they had one (they didn't). Their rates are amazing, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. And if you don't have a way of getting to/from their location they will come pick you up! I have rented a car from this location several times for work. I had my purse stolen and only had a temporary paper drivers license while I waited for the hard copy to arrive via mail. I also had my passport with me as ID. I was turned away on the spot. Really? There was NOTHING wrong with my driving get record! I just was robbed and now have to deal with this. What exactly am I supposed to do while I wait for my drivers license to arrive? Your system has a record of me! This is not my first time renting with your company! I have rented several times! When we arrived the day of to pick up the cars, they only had 1 Suv on our reservation and told us and that they had no cars available. (When we reserved the 2 cars in the same reservation under 1 name) How horrible it is to try to find a car elsewhere last minute on our BIG day!! Also, when we called to confirm before the wedding if we could pay with a debit they said yes. But at the time of arrival they did not accept debit card payment! Service is okay. A little on the slow side in terms of getting customers into a car. Also they don't honor the occasional $9.99 local weekend rate which I think a bunch of horse $h!+. Lots of Enterprises in Seattle participates in the $9.99 weekend rate but for whatever reason this local Bellingham station does not. Also if you use a debit card expect to be change up the ying yang for the deposit. In Seattle I use to be charged an extra $32 deposit for a one day $32 rental. In Bellingham I'm charged an extra $200 for a one day $32 rental. Then it takes about 7-10 business days to get that deposit back onto your checking account. Since then I started to use my credit card but rent from Hertz since both companies charge similar rates. The difference is that I get Alaska Air miles when rent from Hertz and nothing when I rent from Enterprise. If you're an Enterprise Plus member and rent from this location you won't get any special privileges either. I've been a Plus member for almost 7 years and it still doesn't get me out of the checkout line any faster unlike the other non-airport Enterprises in Seattle. read more

Although we held a car rental reservation for Hertz at the Bellingham Airport, the man at the counter was not a bit helpful when he said 'no cars', with a basically "deal with it" attitude. How wonderful it was, then, to enter the Enterprise on State St. in Bellingham. The response and courtesy was the opposite of what had just occurred at the airport. As good as it gets -- Don't even both with the airport, just head to Enterprise near downtown. read more

I've been an Enterprise customer for over 10 years and it just keeps getting better. The check in process is fast and efficient (getting faster all the time), the prices are reasonable and the personnel are easy-going yet professional and don't try to oversell. The best part for me is avoiding the inconvenience of going to an airport when all I need is a car. I do wish the car interiors could have a little more spit and polish when I pick them up, but overall they are very clean. read more
