While our meal was absolutely delicious at Enoteca, we were less than thrilled with the service. We showed up for our 5:15 reservation and promptly ordered our drinks and appetizers yet felt constant pressure from our waiter to order faster and whenever we said we needed a minute, he seemed clearly agitated. At 7pm, he let us know someone needed our table at 7 and that we had a two hour time limit. Not only did we have 15 minutes left on this two hour time limit he imposed but no one told us about this time limit prior to dining. In addition, we were still finishing our bottle of wine we purchased as well as coffees and felt completely rushed. The wonderful food was fully ruined by a bad attitude. Go for the food but definitely don't bother expecting more. read more

This is the second time we've eaten at this establishment and every time it seems we are judged poorly on our age. We seem to get subpar service and usually end up being ignored. With that being said we tip 30% and went on our way. Won't be returning next year. read more

Well, it started out good..the hostess was very nice and sat us at the bar without reservations. The waitress was great and helped us right away. The arugula salad was good although dressing was scarce. The person next to us had a delicious looking pizza and so we opted for that, unfortunately ours came out burnt yet they choose to serve it anyway. We were starving so ate the good parts and left at least half. No compensation offered, no apologies just fuck you tourist...adios. read more

Went in on a busy long weekend evening after doing some research about this cute little spot. We walked in and it was super crowded but they were able to seat us at the bar rather than waiting for over an hour for a table. I'm glad we sat at the bar because our bartender was amazing! I wish i remembered his name but he was super insightful about the wine choices and allowed us to taste a couple based on our liking. We were also surrounded by some fun people and had some great conversation. My husband and I had 2 glasses a piece of their delicious wine choices and we paired it with one of their pizzas. We ordered one with butternut squash, arugula and balsamic vinegar (minus the bacon). My only complaint was that there wasn't nearly enough butternut squash on it. But the crust was perfectly done! For dessert I had plenty of questions about the chocolate budino. Once again our bartender did not steer me wrong and convinced me it was something worth trying. O...M...G.... if you go into Enoteca at any point do not leave without trying this amazing dessert!! The marscapone cheese on top was the perfect contrast to the sweet salty pudding type thing. I have nothing but raving reviews for this place, and wouldn't mind going again when we do another ski trip next year. read more

Not impressed. We made a reservation two weeks in advance. When we arrived the restaurant was about a third full, and we were offered a table six feet from the door. Each time the door opened there was a sub-freezing blast. There wasn't a curtain, heater, screen ... to serve as a barrier. We asked our server if we could move. She mumbled something to the hostess, exchanging scowls. The hostess said she could not. She said she'd 'make a note' of the fact that I didn't want to sit near the door for next time. I reminded her of the temperature (since that notation would be inaccurate for the spring, summer and fall months). Begrudgingly, she moved us. Having been in the service industry for years I was hoping to turn this situation around. We were polite when asking a THIRD time for enough place settings for our group. We were patient when there was a more than 6-minute gap from the time our first entree arrived to the last. (Regardless, I'm aware of what it's like to have a bad night, and we tipped her well). From a food standpoint: Enticed by the photos on the web site we were excited to try it. Kudos to the food stylist on duty that day. It was hit and miss -- lamb was fatty, the pizza was dry and doughy. The burrata was nice, as was my husband's seafood dish. (I can't recall what it was at the moment). We enjoyed the wine selection as well. I hope the hostess doesn't bother saving her bitter, little notation. Since we will not be back. read more

Had reservations on Mother's Day. Staff was nice. My wife ordered the Asiago pesto meatballs. They were dry. Bacon wrapped dates were good. I ordered lamb chops. Cooked fine and tasted good, but the au gratin potatoes were burnt black on the bottom, they were terrible. They tasted like something reheated from the night before. We were really disappointed with our meal here. I think the most frustrating part is how much they get right. The wine list and ambiance / design were all great. The descriptions of all their menu items were also very promising. However, both meals were either tasteless (seemingly zero salt in one of them) or overwhelmingly flavored with strong woody herbs, predominantly rosemary. It was June, so not at all seasonal, and the amount the kitchen used was so excessive it made everything taste bitter. It also didn't seem inherently complimentary of at least one of the dishes (the duck), which otherwise had a vaguely spring/seasonal prep, so the results were some very unbalanced and muddled flavors. The proteins were cooked well, but no better than I'd expect at a place that holds itself out as fine dining. The lentils, potatoes and veg on the chicken dish were unfortunately undercooked, basically crunchy (I like al dente lentils, esp. high quality ones; these were not that). Overall, the impression was amateurish and we felt ripped off. There's better places to go in Ketchum. Two stars for a stylish vibe, that wine list and our knowledgeable server. read more

My family and I visited Enoteca tonight with my 8 month old daughter. The staff all loved her and were very accommodating to our needs in terms of having a high chair and us taking up a bit of extra space with our baby gear. We walked in with half of the restaurant empty, and then we were asked if we had reservations. We didn't and were offered the bar. OK whatever, then we finished eating and noticed the tables were still empty. I asked the manager what was up and he said they had 30 cancellations so he is "holding it" for the next reservation. What? You hold several tables for hours after a no show? Manager was rude and needs to learn proper customer service skills. I think they are trying to pretend to be a gourmet restaurant. If seating is scarce (and held for people that fit a profile) it will signal quality/exclusivity (I'm not fooled) and help justify the price for a mediocre meal. Wine prices were typically 20ish over average serving price. To be honest, that part doesn't bother me. I have paid 200+ in Malibu for breakfast. Overpriced, you bet, but you are on vacation so whatever. It's being treated like a second class citizen when you don't fit the profile that bothers me. Food was mediocre at best (tough steak) and things I could prepare as an amateur. The sauce tried to redeem the meal. Tldr; if you are not perceived to be a part of their target profile, be prepared to be treated like a 2nd class citizen. Thanks, but no thanks. It's a extremely busy time in Sun Valley (ice show, symphony, crafts festival etc). Most of the hotels if not all are sold out. If your restaurant is half empty and it is dinner time, you are doing something wrong. If you are coming for an ice show, like myself, book well in advance for the dinner show. Enoteca was a new experience for us! It was our 35th wedding anniversary (We honeymooned in Sun Valley, returned for our 1-year, and have been back to celebrate the 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and now 35th anniversary.) Places my husband had wanted to go were all closed on Sunday. Could't have worked out better! We sat at the bar and had a blast! Our bartender, Louise ,was amazing! We sampled a few wines before dialing in our selections. We started with the Burrata, then also shared the Asiago Pesto Meatballs and a M'Rito pizza. Taste buds still dancing...we splurged with the Bourbon Spice Cake for dessert...incredible! We only make it to Sun Valley, Idaho every 5 years...but this place tops the charts! Hostess, our bartender/waitress, and food were all 10/10! Was sooo good...we made reservations for later in the week to come back and try other dishes that also looked fabulous! We also had the best time at the bar meeting a couple of other couples. Thank you Greg and Sarah and the other couple also celebrating their 19th Anniversary on March 19th! Our family enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at this wonderful place. The food was superb. I had the lamb, as did Kirsten and it was out of this world good. The restaurant has only been open for a couple of weeks, and the night we were there gave evidence that the staff is still getting its game together. No big problems; just stuff like the hosting staff being uncertain, forgetting to bring the sugar with espresso, little things that will get worked out as time goes on. So, I give it four stars, but by the time you visit Enoteca, you'll probably give it five. Next trip to Sun Valley, we're going back here! read more

Excellent service, wine and food here! Especially from Adelaide, the sommelier who ensured we had the best experience possible. We had a group of 6 started with the bacon wrapped dates and burrata apps, which were both super yummy. Then for mains we did 2 of the mercantile pizzas, 1 trout, 1 lasagna, 1 meatballs and 1 duck confit. Everything was great, and paired with the excellent wine that Adelaide helped us pick out. Great appetizers including the salumi board, burrata and Brussels sprouts. Initially our waitress seemed very accommodating then just stopped coming by and seemed really disinterested in her job. Our entrees were bland and tasteless especially the Mexican grouper and the Idaho trout which is supposed to be their signature dish. Both could have easily been more flavorful. The Panna cotta was just ok but had some odd caramel sauce on it which made it too sweet and not classy. Glad we brought our own wine. Not sure I would come back. read more

I would not recommend this place nor ever plan to go back. The service was terrible with the server not having a clue about anything. I asked if I could get protein on my salad and it was a no. I could order a main dish and get a salad on the side if I wanted protein. This was after I asked what on the menu could be gluten free and she had no idea. The topper for me was when we ordered the salted Carmel ice cream - it was so disgusting. When I told her about it, I was told lots of people had complained about it that night.....then why in the world are you still serving it????? My not-easily-impressed group loved this place so much that we came here two out of four nights in Ketchum. The ambiance is cool, contemporary West; it manages to capture the laid back feel of Idaho while also feeling cozy and a bit luxe (but not too luxe for apres-ski clothes!). The food was absolutely delicious and very affordable. I could eat that burrata every day for the rest of my life! The lovely, smiling staff treated us so well. The servers were attentive without being intrusive, and when a big party was sat next to my small group, someone came over to make sure we weren't uncomfortable (we weren't!). Everyone was very friendly and helpful, which really put my opinion of this place over the top! read more

I have never met a brussel sprout that I liked, until tonight! What an incredible addition to the entree. I thoroughly enjoyed the meatballs with spicy marinara sauce as well as the sautéed greenbeans. A truly wonderful meal for our anniversary. read more
