Myself, along with 2 other Moms and our daughters, had the unfortunate experience of dealing with…read morethis man, while on a trip to SC for softball prospect camp at Coastal Carolina. Upon arrival (late evening), my daughter went to use the guest bathroom, and spotted a cockroach on the wall of the shower. She called me to come into the bathroom to kill it, and of course I took a video of the cockroach. Those suckers move fast! Although we valiantly killed and flushed the roach (which prop mgr insists was a palmetto bug-righhhhht), we ended up coming across 2 more (1 in the kitchen & 1 in the guest bedroom), that we couldn't vanquish in time. Needless to say, we were grossed out. Everyone knows there's never just a couple of cockroaches, and we weren't keen on hanging with "La Familia Cucaracha" all weekend. Although we wanted to leave immediately, we reluctantly decided to stay, mainly due to the fact that it was late at night and our girls had to be at Coastal Carolina Prospect Camp early in the morning. By now it was after 12, so out of respect we waited until first thing the next morning to reach out to Will (the prop mgr). At that time, we advised him we couldn't continue our stay, due to the roaches. Will immediately dismissed our claims (even though we sent him photos & videos), and told me he would only refund $146 out of the $485 + $35 (insurance) that we had paid, which made no sense. I told him that he could subtract a third of the total cost of the stay, and refund the rest- very fair considering the circumstances. At that point the phone "magically" disconnected. He then proceeded to text me that he wasn't refunding a penny and "wished me luck" in getting any money back. So here I am, taking the time to write this honest review, in the hopes it saves the next person. Had we not had this issue, we would have gladly stayed, as it was conveniently close to Coastal Carolina. There are plenty of other options within the community though, so do yourself a favor and choose one of those... or take the risk of dealing with this man and the roaches. We will not be getting a refund due to his extreme unprofessionalism, so I will now spend a little time each day sharing our experience. *Edited to add that we also had issues with the water pressure and drainage (see videos), however, those could have been remediated during our stay. Spraying for roaches during our stay in the unit, was not an option- I'll pass on us breathing in poison all weekend. Not a big fan of cancer, thanks Will!

There was a misunderstanding about checkout…read moretime (it was listed wrong), and he came into the rented condo without identifying himself, saw that we were still packing and we told him we'd be out in an hour, and he told us we needed to "leave NOW!" He made us feel incredibly unsafe and then literally called the police, lied to them about the situation, and brought an officer to the door. We told the officer our listing said we could checkout at 12, and that's when we'd be ready. He apologized to us and left. The property manager kept harassing us after the officer left, even while my boyfriend's special-needs sister was clearly deeply upset and confused. If someone is late, you charge them a late checkout fee. You do not bully, harass, and threaten them. Disgusting behavior.

She keeps me informed about every aspect and stays on top to insure my experience as well as the tenant's experience is a positive one. She does her due diligence in making sure the person she rents my property to is of high quality, reliable, credible and trustworthy. She inspects routinely and is quick to mitigate issues or problems. I wish I had her from the start.

If you find that it is managed by Ascend Property Management~ RUN! DO NOT RENT ANYTHING FROM ANGEL. We rented a lot and it was not a pleasant experience. Dead trees needed to be cut and they said it was the renters responsibility? We didn't own the land and you want me to pay a tree service? I don't think so! Insurance company said just see if one falls then they will go after them. A neighbor had a large outside dog- even though it was against park rules. We were told it was Grandfathered in. It barked constantly! No matter what we questioned she had an excuse. BEWARE! Then to top it all off no short term rentals are allowed and she sets up a mobile home in there and makes it an Air B&B Rental for herself! She is a piece of work. Avoid at all cost. She also will cheat you out of your deposit! SC law says deposits must be returned unless a loss can be proven. She kept our deposit because we sold our mobile home and did not give her 30 days notice. Well now we have an attorney that is going after her for 3 times the 375.00 Deposit and our attorney fees! South Carolina law allows this so if your attorney says you have a good case. Go for it! She will have to pay your attorney fees and give you 3 times your deposit back. One last thing you should know we were in Creekside for almost 3 years. The rent went up every year! But most of the people in the trailer park are great! : )

I can tell you from my own experience because I WAS on our board and thought of something I needed to ask her so I sent her an email at 1:15 am and in the morning she sent me a reply telling me to never send her an email at 1:15 a.m. it woke her up because it comes through her phone and she needs her sleep. I wote back and told her I don't live by other peoples schedule, I have my own. THAT WAS THE ONLY EMAIL SHE EVER ANSWERED ). She told our former PM who has been gone for over 4 years about it and I heard about it from her so what else and to who is she telling what is going on with our properties finances, etc. If it had been an emergency isn't the PM who we call? NOT AFTER HOURS.
