The uncertainty of military life, and our family being a few states away contributed to our original decision to search for a doula. I wanted to try for a natural birth, but knew that if my husband happened to be away and my family support team was still a flight away, it would be difficult. While the birth didn't quite go as I had planned (our little acrobat turned breech at 39 weeks), we were as prepared as we could have been. During our pre-natal visits Jenn talked about options and choices we may have whether the birth was natural or not and encouraged us to have a C-section plan prepped, in addition to our best case plan. Little did we know that would be necessary when the day finally came. Not only did Jenn provide the consistency I needed, but her emotional support and knowledge prior to, during, and after the birth was incredible. Her help didn't end when she left the hospital the day our daughter was born. She continues to provide post-natal support- for example, after a conversation about breastfeeding issues, she sent me additional resources to help solve a bad latch. Working with Jenn was a great decision for us and I highly recommend you consider her as your doula!

I wasn't sure about having a doula. I was definitely having a home birth if possible. I chose my midwife when I was considering getting pregnant a whole year before I actually did! I had heard of doulas and even had a friend tell me that her sister had one in a hospital and I should look into it. When I first researched on internet I couldn't find anything. I don't know if it was a spelling issue or if there just wasn't much online about them at the time. As I was going through pregnancy the term doula came up more and more as the pregnancy progressed. I was offered doula services by an acquaintance. I kept it in the back of my mind, but never really looked into it further. One day a yoga teacher told me about Jenn from Be Well Birth Well and how she was hoping to attend a home birth. I met with her and it was almost instant that I knew she would attend my birth! Jenn and Lauren were both instantly a perfect personality match for me. Jenn is sweet, outgoing, optimistic and bubbly. Lauren is sweet, calming and very nurturing. I would say they both share each other's qualities, but each have predominant traits about them; all good and positive! After finalizing my plans with them to be on my birthing team, Jenn attended a midwife appointment and had a few more with just me, her and Lauren. It was great to get to know them a bit and good to discuss what I hoped for in my birth. We practiced some techniques for labor and they educated me about what they do. I may not be entirely correct, but I've come to the conclusion that the midwife is at the birth for primarily the baby and the doula is there for the mom as her personal coach and advocate/ helper. It seems to me that the doula will try to keep the birth going the way the mom wants it to go while being there for her and her changing needs. Before the birth came Jenn would check on me and send me helpful articles and links to answer any questions I had. My boy was two weeks past due date and Jenn was very comforting. She helped to calm me and evaporate my worries. When the time for birth came, I called Jenn. I wasn't sure how fast it would progress and wanted to talk to her through my pain. After talking me through my very painful contractions for half hour, Jenn decided it was time to come to me! It all happened pretty quickly after that. In about an hour after her arrival she helped my husband and I decide it was time to call the midwife. I was screaming in pain and my husband was frantic so I'm guessing she just made the executive decision. We didn't want to falsely call the midwife in the middle of the night, but Jenn knew it was time! By the time the midwife arrived I was at 7cm dilated. One hour later I was at ten centimeters and ready to push. I'm skipping over all the painful and terrible gory details FYI. Sometime in the mix Lauren arrived. Throughout the painful stretches of contractions of which I felt I had no break, Lauren and Jenn comforted me. They tried different approaches and offered advice for different positions. We finally settled on me lying on my side/ stomach and them massaging me through my painful searing moments. (I think...It was kind of a blur). I'm sure they would have done anything to help ease my pain! Through a few hours of contractions and one hour of pushing, both Jenn and Lauren were there for me like no one has ever been there for me before. They comforted my every ail. They loved and nurtured me through the hardest few hours I've ever had in my whole life! They are perfect; they are superstars! I happened to have my birth just when they were first getting started as a team, so I got to have double the pleasure of both of them at my birth. I am so very thankful that it worked out that way! They both brought their own spice to the mix to make a masterpiece! I know that without them I would have survived, but with them I didn't have to survive. They took care of me and I knew they were there for me the whole time! They also helped my husband along! They floated us along the birthing river-nice and easy. My midwife couldn't believe the ease with which I went through contractions, transition and birth. I attribute at least 80% of that to Jenn and Lauren! I don't know what I would have done without them and I'm so very glad I don't have to know. I've never worked so hard in my life! They made it feel a lot easier. Looking back, it was just a few hours of my life-not too bad. I would recommend these girls to everyone that is going to go through this difficult, yet rewarding experience! I am having one more kid someday and they both have a place on my birthing team no matter the price! Yep-they are that good! ! ! After the birth they checked in on me and my boy. Now, two months l

Well the universe had other plans for us. I had gotten pregnant with an IUD in before and when they pulled it, it ended with a miscarriage. I was scared to death that we were going to experience the same thing but much to our surprise our little girl survived the IUD being pulled and everything was looking good at 10 weeks. When we started looking into doctors and birth centers, we quickly realized that our options were pretty limited here in the Springs. I knew I wanted an all natural birth like I had with my first, but I was not liking the idea of being in a hospital. This led us to our midwife search and home birth research. When we found Tiffany she listened to our story and we quickly connected with her, her energy, and all that she shared with us. I walked out and immediately knew she was the one to guide us on this journey! Throughout the rest of my pregnancy she was always available for questions and it was wonderful to be able to send a text and get a response within the hour on whatever it was that I was asking. The last couple of weeks of pregnancy when I was starting to feel crummy and impatient she encouraged me to stay busy and distracted. On the day of delivery she showed up and two and a half hours later our little girl entered the world. She was brilliant and provided relief when I needed it most, made me feel safe and secure, and strong and capable the entire time. Nate and I both received our daughter, a moment that she encouraged and a moment I will never forget! I am so appreciative of everything Tiffany did for us! I not only walked away with a great expereince but with a new friend as well! She will always be a part of a precious memory of ours and I couldn't imagine it any other way! If you are looking for a midwife, look no further, Tiffany is truly amazing at what she does and I trust her whole heartedly!

They are always available with questions I have and answer almost immediately. They never laughed at even my most outrageous questions and really made me safe at every instance of uncertainty. It was my first child and Lauren said and did all the right things during my labor to keep me motivated and positive. Truly blessed to have been in their care. Please give them call especially if you're even slightly considering a home birth; it was beyond a shadow of a doubt the best decision I've ever made.
