Pretty hard to rate this place. I love that they offer healthy food and juices, even though they aren't the greatest in taste. It's definitely on the more expensive side. This was a pretty terrible showing. We ordered through seamless app (we had received a gift card) and ordered one bison burger, and one bison burger combo with cheese. The total came out to $27.00. (Definitely order directly through them should you, for some reason, choose to order fro here. It's cheaper than seamless). Food was said to arrive in 40-50 minutes, arrived in an hour. All food is cold. Fries needed to be reheated in the oven; dull and lifeless. Both burgers resembled and tasted like frozen hamburger patties. I ordered 2 chicken and vegetables soup, one chicken teriyaki bowl, and a juice. I was so excited to try energy fuel since i wasnt feeling well and i was visiting brooklyn for the first time. When i started eating the soup i felt something hard and prickly and i thought it was a sprig of herbs but to my suprise it was a metal shaving about 1-2 inches long. My husband and i checked all our food before calling to make sure there wasnt anything wrong with anything else. We asked for a refund on the soup and told the server what was wrong and all he said was "i need to call my manager ill call you back" and hung up. We got the feeling they were not going to call back since they didnt even ask for a call back #. So i called back and i asked again and he told me the same thing. I then said "do you have my number to call me back?" They said "oh yea can i get your number then." They called back a few mins later and once again asked us what happened and then said he needs to call his manager and will call us back. I was really hungry so i tried the chicken teriyaki and there was a hair in that. They never did call us back and at that point i was so tired of trying to get our money back i just wanted to enjoy our time so i let it go. Fyi, They also make wheatgrass shots. A very small restaurant with limited seating and there is no restroom, so don't eat too much or drink too much. You be screwed if you have to use the restroom. You have been warned. It is in a convenient location near the 95th street station and bus stop. Service was fast too. Pricing wise it's not bad, maybe a bit expensive. Halal cart would be cheaper to get if you don't want to eat healthy. What I had was the #50 Energy Protein. Chicken breast, onions & tomatoes baked with tahini served with egg whites. Not a bad dish. Chicken was a bit dry though. The egg whites was good. I love egg whites. Probably the best dish I had at Energy Fuel. $11 for this dish. I also got the cafe mocha smoothie. The one girl didn't even know what kale WAS (why would you hire someone for your health spot who doesn't know their veggies? You're catering to people who eat a certain way. Hire people who eat that Way too.) So the other girl pulls out some yellow old as kale, yay me, and she has to read the list for each vegetable now, so finally she plunks some strawberries in a blender (???) and puts in under the juicer, and proceeds to add the pathetic bunch of kale, a ton of spinach and a cucumber to the mix. It's not enough for my large juice so she adds another cucumber, and it's still not enough so she proceeds to pull out a third cucumber. At that point I have to tell at her to stop so I don't end up with cucumber water, so she blends it all together now and hands it to me. It's literally the worst juice I ever had, and this one has fruit in it. It's a murky brown color and lacks flavor other than cucumber. Never again. Although food is healthy and good, ordering by phone is a nightmare! I was calling to order food last night and the girl who answered asked if I could hold for a minute. I said sure no problem, but instead of being put on hold she merely put the phone down and I could here everything that was going on in the background. Five minutes passed of my limited cellular minutes, and I started saying hello very loudly to get her attention, instead I got hung up on. Called back, exact same scenario occurred. Shakes and juices are consistently good. I'll usually get a hangover helper or some kinda green concoction. They use vegan proteins too which is cool I guess (I'm not vegan) Delivery usually takes a while although I'm only 6 blocks down and the guy is on bike (minimum 45 minutes every time) so I usually opt for pickup. Service is ok. Staff always looks clean and neat and are friendly enough but I wouldn't say it's service with a smile. Great food with a really large menu. I am definitely not a fan of eating healthy in general, especially when it takes me away from my first love of eating unhealthy. But the food at Fuel was good enough to make me forget that it was healthy. Because they have a huge menu and the ostrich burger that I had and the turkey burger pizza style that my girlfriend had were so good, I will start going through their menu piece by piece.
