She was released the following Thursday with very little accomplished during her stay. Repeated a test for no apparent reason, not bathed all week, gave the wrong medication and did not inform us she was ready for discharge. Going back a week to her initial ER visit, I now understand why they didn't have a room for 36 hours to admit her - the disorganization is so bad they just can't move people through the process! It genuinely felt like they were bleeding the insurance company for every nickel they could - lots of wasted time. NEVER LET ANYONE TAKE YOU TO ADVENT! Horrible experience

They have a patient portal app that keeps all your records like labs and visits on record. Which is nice because all the staff have access to it so there won't be a lot or running around. They also post lab results for the patient to see. And... they call you and go over the results with you if anything is out of the ordinary. Getting blood work done is fast and easy. Don't have to make appointments. I am usually in and out in 10-20 minutes. They have been doing a lot of expanding at the main hospital location. I like the new offices. Much improved over the old offices.

My son broke his neck, spine T1-T8, 5 ribs, left ankle, facial bones. He was 9 days in Surgical ICU because he had 3 major surgeries, and 148 days total in 3 different hospitals for his recovery because he was a Veteran. My point is KU spinal doctor and team did an outstanding job in saving my son's life. He is paralyzed from his nipples down. My son's recovery was brutal. He suffered every minute he had to breathe. He now is looking at the positive things in life, the little things that are important now. He can move his arms. He's alive and in a wheelchair. He has shown positive signs of skin sensation along his whole body; he moved his left side leg. The doctor assessment said he had 3% chance of ever walking again. BUT, GOD. See the best is our loving Heavenly Father (GOD). We are a praying family, and we believe in miracles. My son has shown so many signs of feeling and slight movements. He is on his road to recovery, and HE WILL WALK AGAIN. Wait for his testimony and book. God Is Absolutely Good. God saved my son's life. God gave him a second chance. KU took excellent care of our son, and we are so grateful for their doctors and medical team.

He spent about 20 minutes with me and did a good examination to make sure of what he was seeing on the CT scans was accurate. He was even kind enough to give me a referral to another Neurosurgeon who has a lot more experience with what I need done. His bedside manor was excellent with me. That's what I call a good DR. !! However, this place is literally the WORST I've seen in years. With each care unit's need increase the smell increased too. Over crowded and dated. Dust everywhere like an episode of "Hotel Nightmares"... 80s fake flowers, 8" diameter water puddle in the small elevator and countless puddles everywhere that no one seemed to see nor address it us (where were the safety signs for wet floor?). Lawsuit for slip and fall waiting to happen. One communal area door was completed blocked in the men's unit; rooms super small and hard to distinguish the staff from the residents unless they were super young. If it's been a childcare center it would have been closed or minimally cited. The fence to a "garden terrace" was like the leaning tower of Pisa... nearly collapsed and unsafe. The tour guide blamed some things on COVID -but Covid lockdown started 5 years ago and the ratings 5 years ago were still a level one. I really feel sorry for anyone without choices in their long-term care or end of life care. Please tour before you allow your loved one to be placed. Wear a mask because it's one sneeze from an outbreak. I feel for the employees too because it's like clearly you had no other options either. Sorry I'll keep my Dad at home and exhaust his savings and mine before I would allow him to go there.

She would not explain the reasoning. She was very cold and had no emotion. I said well isn't the director higher than you, she said yes but she went to the executive director. I would never send my love one to this place. I feel so bad for these people who live here. Horrible place.

Really unsure what her line of questioning was, as the injury was directly related to and happened DURING a high contact sport. It made me wonder if she was even listening. I won't go into the back and forth details of the exam but if I hadn't pressed for direction on treatment or recovery I would have simply gotten an "I don't know and go see your PCP". If my PCP could have gotten me in for an appointment, I wouldn't have been at the urgent care in the first place. The worst part about the experience was the dismissiveness of the student and the lack of professionalism from the overseeing practitioner. She literally walked out of the exam in a fit. Didn't even end the exam just walked out. I wouldn't recommend this urgent care unless you are in desperate need without any other options. The only positives were the facility was clean and both the front desk and nurse were friendly.
