Enat Kitchen is delicious. We ate in the dining room but the bar was thumping too. Seriously down to earth service with amazing food. My friend and I shared a family combo per the staffs' recommendation and every bit was amazing. The folks at Enat are so generous! We stayed for a few hours :)

We walked to this place from our temporary home for the weekend. We were greeted with smiles and great customer service. We ordered the combo dish to go. No photos. I love the restaurant decor. Love seeing the culture on the walls. We enjoyed our meal. Recommending to try and when in the area we will be back to dine in.

    Great place for conversation.

What an amazing experience here. Felt like home. Authentic, real, and bursting with culture on the inside. Great treatment and hospitality is high quality. Feels like my mom is making the food We are vegan, got the plate with everything!!! Bursting with flavors. Sambusas we had to get 2 orders it was so good. Wow that coffee.. WE ARE STILL AWAKE FROM IT! Lol. Nothing artificial, just straight black with some sugar- real, raw, flavorful. And the house made wine was DELISH! Very sweet perfect combo with the food. Will come again!! Definitely come and try this place!

Enat kitchen is one of my favorite spots for any meal of the day. I've only been a few times but the place itself has amazing vibes and visuals, the food is great and offers a wide variety of any dish you want (very vegetarian friendly!) and the service is great, they make you feel super connected and at home!

Overview: Place is clean, staff is friendly, lots of gooood vegetarian options. Food: We got a 7 item combo and shared it. Favorites: Gomen -collard greens w/ garlic ginger. Atakilt cabbage potatoes carrots Beets -tasty Lentils miser ket wot- flavorful but not too spicy Beans- also very flavorful and rich. Injera - just right with the classic tang to it. Will I go back - oh yes!!

Me and 3 friends got the sampler plate and it was just the right amount of food. Our favorite was the beef. I also really liked the lentils. The service was great and friendly. Halfway through our platter we thought it wouldnt be enough so we ordered and additional order of the tibs, but by the time we finished our platter we were stuffed! Still pretty good as leftovers. Would reccomend.

So so good! I can't believe the line for this place doesn't wrap around the block. I am still thinking about the couple style we got- it was the perfect size for two people! Everything was flavorful, fresh, so yummy!!

Everything was great until they took our food to the wrong table. The server we had was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a family combo and it was plenty of food for 4 people. We also had an order of Sambusa which was delicious. The family combo had 3 different kinds of meat and two kinds of beans. The bread is an interesting texture so if you have texture issues you might not like the bread. Try the honey water, it's very good.

The lentil sambusas were a hit! Highly recommend. I got the combo plate and the served kindly did half beef and half chicken. I really enjoyed the chicken entree and would other that again. Service was great. We celebrated a friend's birthday and they brought him a dessert and changed the TV to a birthday song. I recommend giving this place a try.

He started to walk away but stopped when I asked to order. It's not like they have a large menu and we were ready to eat. During the meal I waited for the host to look over but my dining companion called out to him to get my water glass refilled. I was a little put off by the slow service. We're your only customers and you're not happy to see us? You're not going to give us your undivided attention? You're going to slowly serve us like we're an after thought? 2) Why is it called Sisters when I see no females working there? 3) The food did come out quickly as it seems everything is already made. 4) The food tasted good. It was our first Ethiopian experience but unfortunately did not leave a positive, lasting memory. We will not be back. 5) After our meal we waited and waited. It seemed we were required to pay at the host stand rather than at our table. This was difficult for my friend who uses a cane, but we had no choice. 6) I've been to a Moroccan restaurant before where it is also customary to eat with your hands. I truthfully didnt read any reviews but we had nothing but good to say about the total experience so i can't really report on negative reviews..only positive. So truthfully i had no idea what to expect but i can say i was pleasantly surprised with how authentic the flavors were. Ok ok, keep reading if you want to get deep into it.. I was there because Ethiopian food is by far the most romantic and intimate cuisine I've discovered to date. And I frequent it. The flavors are bold and original. The staples range from safe, to raw seasoned beef and curried lamb. An American fair ground of new flavors to explore. We opted for the raw seasoned beef with Ayib, which is a wonderful cheese that adds all the good things that anyone could ask for to the dish. If you wanted more because you need an endorphin release they've got you covered there as well. Primarily because they asked the spice level and delivered perfectly, but second fiddle was the small pile of additional party spice that they place on the side rustically so that you can add it yourself. Its not offensively hot whatsoever so please do experiment with it. You wont be disappointed. Or bring a small container and bring it home. Im only disappointed i wont have any tomorrow lol So raw beef, ya, get that. The other dish we had was an amazing red beef curry with all the right accompaniments. Perfectly cooked peppers and onions paired with just the right amount of heat and sweet balance. We investigated a medium heat level and it was safe. Very safe. Very good. Like so comfortable they should just go with one option lol Hot was an option and next time i will probably try that. I'll probably recant my medium argument. The ways spice was used as a paintbrush was so thoughtful, and im pretty sure we didnt even get into the good stuff. Whoever is in the kitchen creating this experience really hit all the keys just right tonight. The last thing i wanted to mention was the honey wine. First of all its extremely reasonably priced. Like less than many of the drinks i frequent, for the whole bottle. At first its..different.. and somewhat jarring when taken back without food. Not unpleasant, just different. But when its consumed with the food it makes, oh oh oh so much sense. It really turns the meal into more of an absolute symphony. This place would be on repeat if i lived closer. The locals are really lucky to have this around. Im not so lucky to be as close as they are but i hope ill be back soon. Thanks for a wonderful night sisters.

In Portland, we made the wonderful discovery that there were almost a dozen in the area, and we had a difficult time figuring out which one, or ones, to visit. We initially chose Bole because of consistently good reviews and being relatively close to our hotel. It of course had the welcoming feel one expects. Ordering for our group was a little more challenging than usual, because much of their menu is set up for single servings. But has been the case at most Ethiopian restaurants, if you can convey to your server exactly what you want in a group platter, they can make it for you, which they of course did. The food came out quickly and looked and tasted wonderful. Bonus points for having beets in the vegetable platter. They do make the meat dishes slightly spicier than expected - we asked for them medium, and the lamb dish was much more than medium. Tej is available by the glass; ours was room temperature and slightly fizzy. Additional injera is available on request. Those aside, our dinner there was really enjoyable, and while we'd want to check out other Ethiopian restaurants in Portland, we'd certainly return here.
