For bowlers there is access to indoor short mat bowls and an outside green, it is part of the Portsmouth & District Short Mats Bowling League but is also a place where as a newcomer you can be taught the game and develop an interest without having to commit to competitions or league matches if you do not wish. As a social member you can enjoy a game of darts, pool, snooker, a members lounge with bar and TV. It has an active social committee who run monthly social events at the club such as skittles, shuffleboard, film evenings and various different musical events. In addition monthly meat raffles run alongside bi monthly alternating quiz and bingo evenings on 1st Friday of each month. Christmas yields a Children's party with Father Christmas and presents. The annual Christmas event for adults includes a large raffle, annual prize giving and quiz. finally we enjoy a fabulous family orientated New Year party with Disco and American supper. The function hall upstairs can be hired out for private events, there is access to an in house DJ and chef for any buffet needs. The annual open day is open to everyone in June and includes a barbecue as well as the chance to look round and try any sport you fancy or even just enjoy a drink in the members lounge. All this for a very reasonable membership fee.

He was competitive on pricing, but still provided a really well kept and clean boat for the afternoon. They are more geared up for corporate entertainment than stag dos, but the crew seemed pretty relaxed about having a bunch of lads on the boat. We cruised around off the coast off Poole and Bournemouth and moored up for a spot of swimming. We all had a go at driving the boat, which was a lot of fun. Overall a great afternoon out on the water and a really professional set up at Marine Events. I would definitely use again and recommend for both private parties and corporate functions.

The bar serves good priced drinks and there is an area to the side for any buffet food you have organised - so a special day such as the 21st I went to can be celebrated at a good price. Along with this the club caters well for its members with low priced drinks, varied entertainment and raffles with prizes to bewon. There is a good happy atmosphere with warm and friendly staff serving you and a good sized dance floor - for those of you fancying a jig!

Everyone stood around waiting, no clapping as we all expected it to restart...in the end we all drifted away back to the cars... Yup, chaos...30 minutes to move about a car length...about an hour to get out...good thing it was just the 2 of us & no kids... All in all great start but no real delivery...disappointing...shame really...lot of people saying they would go to Barnham's next year The real question is - what is it like on race days, because we would like to go sometime but we certainly don't fancy a repeat of that
