Balloon popping time - end of class
Wonder W.

So much fun! I have never tried archery before and it was a blast!! I took the BF because it was an interest he had tried as a kid. We arrived for a 9am beginners class (also held at 12pm and 3pm every Saturday, unless otherwise stated they do not have practice on the website). The cost is $7 for an all day pass and $5 to rent all the necessary gear. Actual class is an extra $3 for just two hours. The first hour is basic introduction with a little bit of practice, rules of the house and safety. The second hour is score keeping/practice and a whole lot of fun. If one chooses to continue on with the 12pm or 3pm beginners class the same day, it's only $3.00 - that's a steal. Many of the instructors are high school kids (or young folks) with experience in the sport, therefore they are very knowledgable. Depending on the size of the class, participants shoot in rounds (either 1 or 2) so that people are not cluttered together at one time. The BF and I stayed after practice to practice shooting - we already paid for a whole day, so we figured why not. We greatly appreciated the constructive feedback and we look forward to attending classes again.

I'm lucky to have a few places near me to check out and ended up falling in love with RMS Gear. Where do I start? The friendly people offering great tips to ensure you're set up successfully. The pricing of the rental/space for practice. The amount of selection of equipment but most of all, how selfless all the staff are with sharing their knowledge. I've been coming here and have brought friends w us every weekend for the last 2 months. Just last week committed to purchase our own equipment. I think this rabbit hole for me will be deep, I foresee private lessons, limbs galore, and continue to practice to get better. Thank you to Tom, Dan, Kelly, Caleb and Felix for the last couple of months' support and sharing your knowledge. Did you know they house some of the best coaches in the world? Come check them out, maybe you'd fall in love too.

Anyone with a video-game loving kid knows how tricky that can be. I am very happy that we discovered an opportunity to do something much more than just shoot arrows together. Golden Archery embeds archery into a larger framework of martial arts, drawing on both eastern and western traditions, creating something entirely unique. It's not just archery lessons, it's an entire learning process dedicated to giving you the tools for continued development and growth over a lifetime. The program Mr. Johnson has developed (and continues to refine with his impressive instructors and input from a variety of other martial artists) is a carefully thought out system of training, conditioning, and discipline with martial archery at its core. That discipline is an element that appealed to me strongly, both as a parent and an aspiring archer. You're not just plunking arrows into a target, you learn to focus your mind and body on a purpose, to hone yourself to that purpose over time, and see the results of your effort at the far end of the range. These are lessons applicable to a lot more than archery. I count myself lucky that we found Golden Archery, and I'm grateful we have the chance to work with the community of instructors and students there.

Despite presenting themselves as a veteran-supportive company, Cabela's corporate HR denied his request to bring his service dog to work. The reasoning given was related to "heavy equipment," however his role is in a retail environment and does not involve working around such machinery. This service dog directly supports his ability to engage with customers and perform his job safely and effectively. Rather than exploring reasonable accommodations, he was told he could either transfer to a lower-paying, stationary role or continue without the service dog. Additionally, there have been concerning comments made by management regarding individuals who rely on PTSD service dogs, which raises further questions about workplace culture and understanding of invisible disabilities. This experience does not reflect the level of support for veterans that the company promotes publicly. I hope this is addressed appropriately so that other veterans do not face similar barriers.
