I have banked with Bank of Cleveland for decades, which bank was recently purchased by Builtwell…read moreBank. Change is usually not easy & I was already stressing over having to update all of my accounts with the new account numbers & was also stressing about what else would change. I wrote an emotional letter to Builtwell Bank on their website on Wednesday last week. On Thursday morning, I received a phone call from Brian Hood (Builtwell Bank) who talked me down off the ledge. I have had conversations with Bank of Cleveland personnel who have elected to stay on with Builtwell & with personnel who have chosen to retire. Everyone tells the same story about what a great bank Builtwell is & made suggestions about utilizing services that Builtwell Bank offers that will simplify my banking experience. Builtwell Bank is demonstrating that while things will be different, my experience with them will be good & that they are focused on reducing my stress by offering services that add value to my life. The quick response to my missive was very timely & my concerns were all addressed. Five stars. Many thanks Brian Hood & to a bank that values relationships & doesn't run from difficult conversations.

I paid the first loan without any payments being late. Onto the second loan where this month my bank account was compromised for a 25.00 bogus echeck. I had to change accounts etc. I had a payment scheduled to CFFCU which didn't go through due to the account being on hold. I called CFFCU to let them know what was going on and asked if the late fee could be waived. Soon as I asked that, Terri acted like I was lying and asked if I had proof, which of course I have plenty. When I said I did have proof, she stated that it was against Federal law to wave late fees due to possible discrimination. WHAT??? I've never had a banking institution under those circumstances refuse to waive a late charge. Needless to say, due to her attitude and lack of willingness to help, I will never get another loan here nor do I recommend this institution. I don't like being accused of lying, and I don't like being lied to. Stay away from this place, something isn't right...
