From Ms. Lihua's classroom to Ms. Jing's, and now Ms. Ping's, our child has been thriving during her time there. All the teachers (and assistants) have been great; they pay attention to our child's strengths, weaknesses, personality and behavior tendencies and adjust their teaching accordingly as opposed to applying one standard approach to all the kids in the class. When we had our second child, we were eager to send her to Ms Lihua's class right when she turned 18 months. The personalities of our two children are quite different; but Ms Lihua's caring and loving style really shines through to get the little ones acclimated quickly to a new school setting, regardless of their differing personalities. We're excited to see our second child go through the other classes in the future as well. It's great that Odyssey is continuously able to retain their amazing teachers for so many years.

The class size was smaller due to COVID. My child was with an amazing nanny from 4 months to 3. I was apprehensive across the board but teachers made the transition so easy. We were lucky enough to transfer to their RWC location, which is more practical for where we live. However, I will always have fond memories of where he first started his education.

The school facilities and activities (e.g. swimming, gardening) offered for kids are beyond par than what we have seen in other schools in the peninsula. Preschool Director Nicole, her admin team and the teachers did a fabulous job in how the school managed to navigate during covid period and they take safety very seriously. The school also offers plenty of opportunities for parents to be involved both with the school and the community- mystery reading, volunteering, informal family meetups. If you're in the peninsula area - PJCC preschool should be a no-brainer.

This review has been a long time coming…read more My son is starting his 2nd year at AAF and we could not be happier. Ms Debanjali, Ms Swana and Mr. Tamir are really invested in each child and you can tell that they really get to know them as individuals. I can see the growth in my son academically and emotionally. He makes friends so easily, and that was something we were worried about post pandemic. The teachers keep us up to date on our son's development and are open to teachers conferences year round. They really make my son feel special and excited about learning. We are looking forward to this new year!

I have seen a real evolution of her behavior and attitude towards school, I feel this is a direct result of the passion of the teachers and their belief in the Montessori system. The location is easy to get to, safe for drop offs and parking is always easy to find. There was a ownership change since we have been there and while that transition was not a pleasant one - the new owners have been keen to address any concerns that we had and have surpassed our expectations. The school is a great choice if you are local and are looking for teachers that care about their students.

From the very first day, the teachers and staff have shown incredible love, patience, and dedication to the kids. My daughter looked forward to going to school every day, and we can see how happy she is and how much she has developed both academically and socially. The curriculum with the mandarin immersion and a variety of cultural celebrations are another highlight. We are incredibly grateful to all the teachers for making her such a positive and meaningful pre-school experience. We highly recommend Challenge school San Mateo Campus to any parent looking for a place where their child will be loved, supported, and inspired to learn. We have to say goodbye due to the relocation, but will always remember the warmth and love at Challenge. Thank you for making the preschool feel like a second home.

From the tour, the facility felt clean, safe and I felt comfortable with the staff as they seemed attentive, experienced, and committed. At first I was nervous to transition my oldest (2 yrs old at the time, now 3.5 yrs) as we don't speak any mandarin at home. However we were so surprised at how much he has learned and developed as he transitioned from Caterpillar to Ladybug and now to Butterfly Class. He is always excited to head to preschool and happily talks about his day after pick-up. The projects and activities in each class are age appropriate and meaningful and I appreciate how we get frequent updates with clear communication from the teachers in each class. I also love that they prepare Chinese and American holiday events at this age. Now our youngest (1.5 yrs old) started in the Caterpillar class and she has adjusted so well! I am so glad we chose to have our kids attend Challenge School for the peace of mind knowing that they're in great care while we are at work. All of the Caterpillar, Ladybug, and Butterfly teachers are wonderful, dedicated, and sincere with their class and most importantly, we can tell our kids have fun and are happy there. I highly recommend this location for a mandarin immersion preschool!

One of the things we really appreciate is the consistency: regular diaper changes, structured nap times, and a calm daily routine. It's such a comfort to drop off our child every morning knowing they're in a safe, loving environment. Our daughter loves it here and will mention to be dropped off to the day care even over the weekends. They have amazing toys that get rotated everytime. The facility is so clean and tidy everytime. Our daughter has hardly fallen sick, perhaps cuz they keep it so clean. Their educational programs are also great. She gets to have fun, there's art, theatre, learning, music, dancing. So much fun! Also, great value for money compared to other home based or bigger day cares. They also celebrate important festivals, birthdays, and give presents to kids on fun days, birthdays and Christmas. Also, unlike other day cares, the teachers and management is fuss free. They are very mature, understanding, and dont call you to pick up the child over silly things. We've had great experience on all accounts, including their reasonable policies on vacation, holidays etc. 5 stars to Alina, Carol and Lana. I searched high and low for a great preschool for my daughter (even pulling her out of a previous…read moredaycare and touring countless others), and I am so grateful we chose Challenge School. Even though Challenge is a bilingual Mandarin immersion school and our family is Korean, every box was checked the moment we walked in. We immediately noticed the safe, clean and warm environment, the kind and nurturing teachers, the exceptionally well-maintained space, and the highly organized, thoughtful curriculum. Every teacher my daughter has had or currently has--Teacher Catherine, Teacher Joannie, Teacher Lilly, Teacher Stephanie, Teacher Jing, Teacher Min Min, Teacher Hong Li, and Teacher Xiang--continues to foster her growth, act as a positive role model, and provide incredible care and education. In just about over a year, our almost 3 year old daughter can understand, speak, recite poems, and sing in Mandarin, despite us not speaking a word of it at home! Her English also exploded after attending Challenge. But the teachers go far beyond language by weaving in essential life skills. They teach core values like fairness, kindness, and respect . They give opportunities for each child to respond, stand up in front if the classroom, even donate books to build a sense of pride and confidence. They promote healthy eating through hands-on activities--from gardening and harvesting vegetables to actually making wontons! They integrate Chinese culture while ensuring families of all backgrounds, including our Korean family, feel completely included and celebrated. Best of all, the teachers are highly responsive and act as true partners in parenting. If I ever bring up a typical toddler concern, such as body safety and curiosity, they will often incorporate a supportive lesson for the class the very next morning! I truly can't say enough great things about this school and the amazing experience our family has had so far. It's no wonder my friends have raved about Challenge School (all at different locations). As a parent who wants to give my child the best, safest, and most nurturing environment possible, this was the best decision ever.
