Mornings you can see mums with gaggles of tiny children smothered in protective gear so comprehensively that any movement seems a remarkable achievement. They zoom around on scooters and amazingly tiny bikes shrieking with delight. Late afternoons and weekends teenagers lurk with malodorous intent, disdaining helmets of course, most ruinous for the do. I spent my teenage years in the Blue Mountains lamenting the lack of anywhere to go or anything to do, so I just wanted to give credit for the provision of this place. I can't see myself ever taking up skateboarding (and really, no-one else would want to see that either) but I'm glad this is here.

I quite often walk past this skate park and think 'oooo, if I was a skater I'd rip this place up'…read more I'm a mum now but when I was ten I borrowed one of the neighbourhood kids skateboards to roll down a small but steep driveway. I landed flat on my behind and ended up with a black bruise the size of Tokyo city. This I might add was immediately after my neighbor had done the exact same thing bar the bruise which was on the other cheek. Anyway... my point is I have the passion but not the know how or talent when it comes to skating and you need at least the fearless passion to give some of the jumps at this skate park a go. As you can see by the pictures there are rails, stairs and 2 metre jumps. Most of the time I walk past it's filled with a dozen or more kids ranging from ages 5 to 15. The little ones are often padded up with helmets whilst mums watch from the side. The bigger kids have the cool factor going on but are harmless enough. It's not an intimidating atmosphere - no graffiti, no smoking - it's more of a "lets carve this place up dude". With phrases like this... now I'm showing my age. No lights for night use. Right next to a bus stop and a leafy golf course but also on a busy section of Ernest Street.

Can get a bit windy as it's on the lake but it's on the lake so when it's too hot you can go for a swim right across the road (not in the pool). Worth a drive, good fun park and great town and locals

Fantastic new Park at Umina with all the upgraded facilities like the new climbing walls,…read morebasketball courts, BMX Track and skate parks for different ages. It would be even better if kids under 5 years old and bike riders were kept off the larger skate bowl and stayed on the BMX or pump tracks that have been purpose built for them. They take over, don't look where they're going and don't care, leave their bikes or scooters just lying on ramps for skaters to try and avoid. And the parents get upset if you dare to politely ask them or thier kids to please be mindful of older skaters so they don't knock them off and get injured by thier kids hitting them. They behave entitled and rude. If thier kids get injuried I will guarantee that they will kick up a huge stink with council and make all sorts of ridiculous demands . In saying that there are some cool and competent young skaters who's parents have taught them the etiquette of sharing space. It's awesome. Suggestion...the Council to enforce some rules by putting up signs that say no bikes or toddlers with scooters or balance bikes permitted on the skate bowl. My son has a fractured wrist, damaged kneecaps and abrasion burns from a young child knocking into him and it was impossible for my son to avoid him. After an afternoon in emergency, in a great deal of pain, he's now bandaged up in splints. Parents of young kids need to at least supervise young kids properly or even better use the track that was built for them instead of endangering others. Someone is going to be critically hurt, and it just might be a young kid and the park shut down because of thier arrogance. Thanks!!!

The "athletic" park for the village has a skate park, grass running track and a very small…read moreplayground . There are two other fenced areas that look like a batting cage and another for possibly other track and field throwing events. A park good for those that need something specialized for training.
