I just gotta say that as a trucker I drive all 48 states and always try to tune in locally to…read morelisten to exciting live radio, whether FM, AM, music or talk. Awhile back driving thru Indiana, I came across WIBC morning show lineup. What an amazing team of Talent. I never heard a more intriguing, entertaining line than WIBC. I was so impressed with everyone from Tony Katz to Kendall & Kasey to Hammer & Nigel as far as the morning-noon lineup. So very entertained, that when I started to leave the brodcast range of the signal; I could only think of one solution- the IHeart App. Now I csn get this station & listen to Tony Katz & the rest anywhere in the US. I know this is a local station in Indiana but the talent of the shows goes beyond the borders of Indiana because the content is so revalent. I live in California (yeah I know, woke state) but everything that the Talent & content creators generate is amazing. At times Kendall & Kasey can ramp too much on the Indiana home tax abolishment but the information & knowledge he speaks of can apply anywhere. Now I'm an avocate of home property tax repeal. Hammer & Nigel are cool, they revolve around local & state issues but their content is nationwide. Tony Katz especially wraps up the show and pushes the appeal outside Indiana nationwide with his content. I cant get enough of Trump 24/7 & I need even more. I listen to Tony Katz Today as well to keep the momentum going. I cant go back to boring music radio now that I found WIBC. Its life living the goid life and then returning to the ghetto. I tell all about WIBC...its a station for the nation

I am a nerd and am into politics. Considering that WIBC (now on the 93.1 FM dial) is the only…read moretraditional talk radio station in town, I used to find myself listening to it frequently. Like many talk radio stations, it had more than its share of conservative and Republican radio shows. Hell, even the home-and-garden guys on the weekends would fit right into the conservative shows if they had to fill in. But in a nice balance, they had a solid morning show hosted by Steve Simpson that stuck to the news, traffic, weather, and human interest stories. They also had a handful of non-conservative and non-political shows either spread throughout the week or on the weekends. Now Simpson as well as most of what made the station interesting are long gone, and we are stuck with shock jocks and Republicans. I have nothing against it, I just don't think the same thing for 14+ hours a day makes for good radio. Even though local coverage isn't great, you get a great variety of topics at WFYI, the local NPR affiliate. They cove the news and offer all sides to the table, not just the one that generates the most clicks.

****THIS INSTITUTION IS OPEN- May 2014**** WFHB Community…read moreRadio, 91.3FM & 98.1FM in Bloomington, 100.7FM in Nashville, 106.3FM in Ellettsville and streaming online at www.wfhb.org, is a volunteer, community radio station specializing in local news, public affairs and music. WFHB features an "eclectic mix" of music, rich in jazz, international, blues, quirky classic rock, local and cutting edge indie music. The station maintains a selection of the latest releases in most genres, and programmers are free to choose 50% of their playlist from these selections, and play 50% of their own selections. The result is an always entertaining and interesting mix. You just never know what you'll hear next, but it will very likely be good. The WFHB News and Public Affairs department delivers the most comprehensive daily newscast devoted to the Bloomington and South-central Indiana area every weekday at 5:30 pm. They also feature specialized news programming devoted to specific subcultures, such as weekly shows for the Gay, Hispanic, African-American, and political communities. National and International news are represented by such syndicated programs as Democracy Now!, Free Speech Radio News, and The Shortwave Report. Perhaps the best thing about WFHB is that it is entirely run by community volunteers (along with three paid staff), who have complete control over what is broadcast. It's radio by and for the people, and its broadcast reflects that. Anyone with an interest in broadcasting, whether as a music or news programmer, or a behind-the-scenes support person, is welcome and encouraged to participate. Just to stress once again: this establishment is fully operational as of May 2014, and has been consistently since 1993. I love WFHB, and bet you will too. Give it a try at 91.3 FM, or streaming at www.wfhb.org
