I have a 2 and 3 year old taking lessons at Emler, both were not able to swim at all and were not comfortable in the water. They are now in the second month of their lessons and both are loving the water and their teachers. My 2 year olds teacher is Miss Jillian and she is soooo fantastic and loving with my daughter. My 3 year old has miss Carrie and she is as well so loving and encourages my son to push himself. Both my kids can now swim under the water to the teacher for four seconds and for them that huge after only 5 or 6 lessons. There is always a deck manager Chelsea walking the pool deck to jump in and assist if a teacher needs help with instructing a child who needs a little extra love( which my son has needed). Miss Alyssa at the front desk is always smiling and greets both my children by their names when we walk in the door! There is a wall of windows with plenty of seating for you to watch your child. you also have the option to sit in the pool area too, that's what I do only because my daughter likes to sing the songs they sing and I wanted to learn them so I could sing them in the pool this summer. At the end of each lesson they call the parents in and give you a synopsis what they learned and give your child a chance to show you, and I love that. During the lesson you hear nothing but cheers, encouragement and lots of praise, and to me this has made all the difference in my kids learning to swim, there has been no tears! I will be a loyal Emler swim customer for many years to come, soooooo happy they opened this facility. read more

We love Emler! My 2 year old has tried 2 other locations for swimming lessons, including private lessons and all we ended up with was a little girl who was terrified at even just the sight of a pool. All that changed with Emler! The water is warm and inviting and teachers are all amazing! When you walk in the door you are greeted with a big smile and they really take the time to learn each child's name. My daughter loves that they know her! They have lessons down to a science and follow an excellent curriculum. My daughter is learning the routine and anxiously anticipating the next activity. The first lesson she cried 10 of the 30 minutes and hasn't shed a tear since. Now she ASKS if we can go swimming, is gaining confidence in the pool and is slowly learning to hold her breath under water. She is already up to 5 seconds! I never thought my timid little girl would come so far, so fast. The teachers are loving, encouraging and truly want to see your child succeed. We love Emler! read more

They really have the learning is fun thing down! The small class sizes and individual attention gives each kiddo a great chance to get to know and trust their instructor. They use the kids imaginations with pretend to encourage goals and take the edge off the "scary" factor. Then the parents get a demonstration and one on one time with the instructor to go over milestones, while the kids each get a toy prize paralleling the pretend theme of the day. Our daughter is 3 and other than a small amount of exposure to the pool last summer has had no experience. She is now, after 4 lessons, holding her breath for 5 seconds and on her way to having a great summer by the pool! Thanks staff at Emler! read more

My kids have been attending Emler since it opened in March. They have enjoyed their lessons and you can already tell an improvement in both their comfort level in the water and swimming abilities. Parents have a great view of the lessons thru the glass wall that separates the pool from the waiting area. As a mom, I like that the last few minutes of each class, they call the parents into the pool area to give each one an individual recap of their child's progress that lesson and what they can work on. The instructors and staff are great and have been wonderful with my kids. I am thankful that I found Emler Swim School prior to the summer to prepare the kids for the swimming season. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! It's clean, organized, fun, and safe! My daughter has advanced so much in these last few weeks! The school is small, yet totally equipped to help the kids learn as much as possible. This is so much better than trying to instruct our kids in the huge public pools, or to have just a lane open while there is chaos/swim teams/etc going on next to them. These classes are totally private and the kids really pay attention. I would 100% recommend these classes to anyone and everyone looking to help their children learn safety in the water! I have been to many swim schools around Johnson County, KS. This is the best one we have attended. They are structured with improvement goals. If your child doesn't meet that goal by the end of the time period given than they can continue the classes at no cost until they reach the goal. That is so different from the other swim schools around here. It shows me that they are dedicated to teaching my boys how to swim better. The staff is so friendly. I am greeted by name whenever I walk in the door. Really, I can't say enough good things about this school. read more

Everyone at Emler has been extremely knowledgeable and accommodating for the two years we have had our daughter enrolled. We have the best teacher for our toddler. She has been going since she was an infant and has progressed so much. It's fun to watch her enjoy being in the pool! We are looking forward to enrolling her baby sister when she's ready to start swimming! You really get a lot for the cost. If you want your child to learn how to safely be around a pool or water, this is the swim school for you. read more

I've been skeptical about swim lessons but that quickly changed after starting at Emler with my 3 & 4 year old boys. My 4 year old had tears his 1st lesson and the staff had him laughing and loving it by the end...they knew exactly what to do. The staff is friendly & they make it fun for the kids. We LOVE this new swim school. The super small class size is PERFECT for our hesitant swimmer to want to learn. The teachers are friendly and very helpful. I like that Emler ends their classes with the parents coming into the pool area and hearing what the goal was for the day and a little demonstration of what my son practiced. My daughter was 11 months when we started in March when they opened. She has so much fun with our instructor Jillian. She is so nice and patient with my daughter and the our two children in the class. After 5 weeks she's able to go under water for 5 seconds. Our family just moved here from out of state, and had a terrible experience at a different swim school in the area. The difference in this school was their proactive attitude about assessing my daughter before placing her in a class to best meet her needs. Love Love this school! We had our kids at LifeTime Fitness swim school and they did not seem to accel at all! When the kids started Emlers we noticed they had learned so much in as littles as 3 lessons!! The teachers are so patient and kind to the kids.
