I've been a patient of Dr. Balentine's for three and a half years…read more She is able to assess problems quickly and has a calming presence. She is positive without sounding tone deaf or annoying. I like that she gets straight to the point when giving a diagnosis. Her staff are friendly and patient. They are understanding when I have trouble opening my eyes to have drops put in them. They were also very helpful in getting me glasses when I had trouble getting information from Eyemed. If you decide to be a patient here, you'll be in good hands.

Earlier this morning they sent me a text message reminding me of my 11 o'clock appointment. I checked in at the office at 10:50. I was told my appointment was at 10:30 and I would have to reschedule. I showed them the text message they had sent to my phone telling me my appointment was 11 o'clock. The receptionist took my phone and showed it to somebody lurking behind the front desk. "His appointment says 11 o'clock," she told the person. The person said, "I can't possibly do that maybe later." The receptionist told me "It's gonna be a long wait but if you were willing to wait we can get you in." She then attended to the next patient. I started to sit down to wait and then I realized how foolish that was. I stood up, interrupted the next patient, and said, "Cancel my appointment; if you don't apologize, I don't patronize." I left. The doctor may be great; I was told she was. But under the circumstances, the absence of the basic common courtesies indicates I'm probably not going to be happy here.

Dr. Terry performed PRK (a variation of LASIK) on my eyes just under five years ago. I am very…read morehappy with both my treatment and results. In talking to different doctors, I felt most comfortable with Dr. Terry's approach and his genuine concern for me as a patient. He recommended PRK over LASIK for me because my cornea would fully heal afterwards and I would achieve the same improvements in my vision, though over a slightly longer time period (a couple weeks versus hours). With LASIK, your cornea is compromised because of the flap that is cut. At my wedding reception, I poked my eye with my sunglasses, which was rather sobering, and I covered my eye for the next day because it hurt so bad. I am fairly confident that if I'd had LASIK instead of PRK, I would have been headed to an eye surgeon to repair the flap on my cornea instead of dancing at the reception.

Dr. Mark Terry was recommended to me by my previous eye doctor who actually failed to inform me that I have had not one, but several rejection reactions after my surgery. At least, Dr. Mark Terry found out about that and told me, but then he quickly moved onto defending the behavior of the previous doctor which disappointed me. I find such a behavior to lack integrity and it does not put the patient's interests first as the doctors oath dictates.

I called and they were kind enough to fit me in that morning with short notice. I was in pain and was very thankful. It turns out that it was something more serious and needed immediate treatment. I just saw my Ophthamologist back home, and they said that the care that Dr. Yee gave me on the first day, correctly diagnosing the situation and swiftly giving me the right prescription, was outstanding and has made my prognosis much better. Dr. Yee was thorough, caring, provided me with all of the information that I needed. The office faxed over the notes quickly to my dr. I just can't say enough good things about Dr. Yee and the office. THANK YOU!!!!

The time it should take to get some metrics done adds up to 15 minutes max. Add another half hour, generously, for the treatment prep and delivery and there's no reason on Earth for me to be there for much more than an hour. Nevertheless, I have from time to time spent upwards of an hour waiting between the tests and the treatment and it's never been less than 45 minutes. I have generously allowed two hours and several times now I've had to leave without being treated so as not to miss my transportation home. Twice now, I've had an assistant tell me to allow three hours. Seriously. Give up an entire morning or afternoon for something that could have been done in an hour. This business seriously needs to hire an efficiency expert to streamline their services.
